What a dump and run by people who don’t care about campers with RV’s/trailers. After arriving and seeing the place and talking to the people at check-in, we forfeited our deposit and found a much more suitable place. The spaces are incredibly tight and after reading reviews I question whether we could open the slides on both sides of our RV. The sites are so close together there is no room to sit outside your rig. If you want to enjoy the outdoors, go elsewhere. A side note about mgmt. we had booked 2 sites and our friends could not join us as they were evacuated from their home due to a fire so they had to cancel the trip the day they were planning to leave home to join us. Although I understand there are rules about deposits and refunds, the people running this place had absolutely no understanding at all. No signs of humanity here, just the almighty buck. Yet, they had no problems turning around and renting out our cancelled spot right in front of me. Linda J.…
We were very disappointed when we drove into the campsite and realized how utterly cramped this campground is. The pictures on the website are very misleading. Many of the large units were unable to open their slide outs because of the tight spaces. We were so close to our neighbors that we could hear them blowing their noses inside their RV. They also moved us from our reserved spot into another one without asking us. We were assured it “was a better spot” but what I’m assuming is that they realized our pop up could fit next to a small camper to open up a big space for a larger RV. One evening our neighbor was allowed to park half his truck in our campsite because the space he had been using to park was reserved for the night. Half of the laundry units do not work. The showers all drain into one another and are poorly lit and not clean. One positive from this campsite experience is that we were very close to the restrooms. They advertise a game room but there definitely isn’t one. I would take my chances looking for a “first come, first serve” campground rather than stay here again.…
Its hard to imagine anyone giving this CG a higher rating than poor. Advertised internet and game room...nada. parked 4 to 5 feet away from other RVs...towed vehicle was to be parked in street. Overall doesnt look like the owners have spent a dollar on upgrades in the past 40 years. 3 oit of 5 washers not working with 2 of the other held together with blue masking tape, half dryers broken, stay away from the showers.
No maintenence, bathrooms dirty, sites are jammed so tight your in your neighbors face. No wifi, no dav area, no dog baggies, we always bring our own, but poop would not be there if dog baggies available. It's really a dump. Any good reviews are by owner! Showers are gross and dirty. Nothing about this place is nice.
Pros: The camp workers were phenomenal. They helped us navigate the space and even helped us situate the car dolly. Very reasonable rates Very near Yellowstone Park entrance Cons: Ladies shower no hot water Men’s shower too much hot water No cable and weak WiFi
This was our second time staying in the RV park because we loved it the first time…and it has sadly slid down a very steep hill. First, half of the RV park is now gone, replaced by what looks like an apartment building. Second, this place has absolutely no amenities. The restrooms/showers were open one day of the four we were there; closed due to sewer issues. We were only able to use water and power hookups due to the same sewer issue; had to go to another RV park and pay additional money to dump our tanks. Definitely not worth the money we paid and will never stay here again which is unfortunate.
Wagon wheel campground is a dump! Don't be fooled by the pics. The good reviews are family. Obvious with the last names. Whoever took the picks should work for national geographic because this is not the reality. This place ruined the beginning of a long planned trip to Yellowstone. Walmart parking lot would have been better. The price is thievery. Could not take a shower due to water pressure. We were surrounded by street and traffic. I was waiting for a drug deal to go down at any minute. Read the reviews!!! Your trip is suppose to be relaxing, comfortable, etc. This will ruin it. We left two days early and went into Yellowstone camping rustic. It was so much better than this dump.
This place was super disappointing. Basically it is a parking lot with some trees, that is across the street from a parking lot. From the photos on the web you can't tell but yup that is what it is. The "showers" were not upkept and moldy. The spot they had us parked it was super tight and was on top of the neighbor. It was so bad that we ended up leaving as we didn't want to stay.
Stayed 2 nights. Spaces are very tight for our 40 ft RV. They advertise that they have cable but they do not. Not easy to get in and out. It is quiet and close to West Yellowstone entrance and town. They do have WiFi.
After reading other reviews, maybe the cabins are good but the RV sites are stacked so close we were literally less than a foot from our neighbor behind us, and we have a small trailer! Location is convenient to downtown and park entrance, but the women's bathroom is in severe need of an upgrade. Only one bottle of hand soap for sinks 8 feet apart, one stall missing TP holder, showers are gross. Seriously, would take less than $500 to make major improvements. Husband said the mens side not much better. Same Q-Tip on shower floor for TWO Days!! If you have good bathroom facilities in your rig, then you might not mind as much as we did.
