Awesome little restaurant between Hebgen and Quake lakes. The food was fantastic! The pancakes were huge--the size of the plate!! While we were eating we saw a moose in the Madison river outside the restaurant. One of the best breakfasts ever! Excellent service too!

Pros: This is the spot for dining on Hwy 287 between Hebgen Lake & Quake Lake in the Gallatin National Forest. Stopped at Lodge' Riverside Cafe for lunch. Breakfast served until 2pm daily. Nothing fancy but reasonably priced cafe food in good quantity with both locals and tourists present. Wife had the huckleberry pancake along with egg & bacon that... More

I'd address only the restaurant: This is the best find in the entire SW of Montana. Breakfast beside the roaring Madison River cannot be exceeded. Really good almost Southern style breakfasts of 2 over easy, bacon, hash browns with green Tabasco and sourdough toast excellent Dare you to eat more than one pancake: they hang off the side of the... Shaddy spot right on the river. Rustic but clean bathrooms and showers. Great location to get away from the yellowstone traffic and crowds but still close enough for the sites. Huge breakfast-everything fresh.

Great spot for breakfast. You must start with a cinnamon roll. It is large enough to split 4 ways. The french toast is great and the pancakes are huge. I tried the country fried steak this time and it was super. The omelets are wonderful as well. The wait staff has been there for a long time and are fun... More

Stayed in cabin #8. Small, cozy, clean cabin with country style furnishings on the Madison River. Small deck and small granite outcropping, perfect for pit fire. This isn't the Hyatt, there are no fancy furnishings, spa treatments or 24hr room service, not here. With that said, this worked perfect for the two of us and we plan to return. This... More

We were looking for a clean, quiet campground away from the hustle and bustle of Yellowstone. WE FOUND IT! Nothing fancy, but the staff was very friendly, the restrooms and showers were immaculate, the scenery along the Madison River was perfect.

We were driving past and saw the place so we decided to have some breakfast, it would have to be some of the best food we ate on our 6 week trip around The US. bacon and eggs were perfect and service was friendly. The river running past outside made it just wonderful. It was raining fairly hard that day... More

My son and I stayed at the "Campfire Lodge" (Lodge being a bit of a stretch) in mid-September of 2015. I'm going to put the good points first, then move on to the things of which you need to be aware before spending your money to stay at this accommodation. First, this is a campground with cabins. When I think... More

Sorry you stay wasn't what you expected. We accept checks for deposits. Fly shop does except credit cards. WiFi is limited due to the fact there isn't any Hi Speed internet available to Campfire Lodge We do have Satellite Internet but it is slow with limited bandwith. It chokes when 2 people use it at the same time. Management always... More

The Campfire Lodge Resort is neither lodge, nor resort, and was not at all what we were expecting when we reserved our stay ahead of time via their website. Apparently the restaurant on site is very good as it was very busy with the locals. We did not have the opportunity to eat there during our stay. This campground was... More
