This family is amazing! The views, food, hospitality, knowledge, entertainment, and down to earth company was a 5 star PLUS rating in my book! The girls know so much about the homesteads and they all work very very hard to make your stay a wonderful one! The views of the mountains and of the ranch are beautiful. One of a kind ranch that I would highly recommend. Horseback riding was both relaxing, exciting, and adventurous. We took a half day and went into town one day for some shopping, then went paddle boarding. The rodeo at the end of our stay was a bonus. The cabins were simple and clean. Everything was very well taken care of and we grew to know this kind hearted crew and we miss them already! Would recommend the Flynn Hidden Hollow Hideaway to anyone who wants the down to earth, beautiful Mountain View, adventures of the country living, great company, wonderful food, watching elk experiences

After almost 2 years scouring the internet and speaking to specialist ranching and equestrian tourism travel agents, by the time our little group (my husband, best friend, her partner and 12 year old son and me) set off on our ranching holiday to Hidden Hollow Hideaway we had pretty high expectations. Excitement was high tinged with just a moment's worry that we had built this up in our minds so much we could be disappointed. We shouldn't have worried - the reality was better than we could have hoped for, and then some.

Of the 5 of us there was a real mixed bag of experience and confidence when it came to horses and riding, myself and my friend had ridden all of our lives, as had 12 year old Connor, my husband had only been riding for 1 year and my friend's partner had only been on a horse a handful of times. HHH ranch catered for us all (and the 80 year old cowboy movie fan who had never so much as sat on a horse who we met at the ranch) seamlessly and fabulously, never making anyone feel they were holding others back, but never pushing anyone to do more than they could while at the same time building confidence and developing skills. I have ridden all my life and learnt more in a week than I have done for years thanks to the amazing guidance of the cowboy, Earl.

The scenery was breathtaking, photos don't do it justice. The horses were without doubt the best trained I have ever ridden but at no time dull. We were encouraged not to ride "nose to tail" but to take responsibilty for our horses and the path they took to develop our reining skills. Some of the terrain was challenging, hunting for cows through forests littered with fallen trees and branches on very steep slopes, whereas the plains provided some great opportunities for long canters. The horses were unbelievably sure footed and incredibly fit.

The food was very, very good home-cooked and hearty fare. I managed to put on 5lb in a week despite riding for 7 hours a day several times thanks to the home baked biscuits and desserts - thanks Lynda they were GOOD!

The lodges were perfect - gorgeous log cabbins with comfy beds, what more could you want after a day in the saddle learnings skills from knowledgeable horsemen, followed by a soak in the hot tub or dip in the lake, followed by good food, followed by an evening spying wildlife out on the ranch and a beer?

I can't recommend the ranch highly enough.

A combination of myself, my brothers, various partners and mum have been out to the ranch almost every summer for the last 14 years. It's always fantastic. A great family run place where everyone is a friend, great riding (even for beginners), great food. If you get to feeling a little saddle sore there is plenty else to do, from wildlife tours to panning for gold. Or you can just lay back, pretend to read your book, and enjoy the big skies.

My wife and I spend the first week of July 2019 at the ranch. Words can't do justice to the time we had on the Ranch and with the Flynn Family. Everyone there did a fantastic job showing us their wonderful ranch. Horseback riding, panning for gold, looking for wildlife, history tours, cattle drives.....it was all great and was truly a "Montana experience". The Flynn family treated like their own and were so warm and accommodating the entire time we were there. I truly recommend spending a week at this ranch to see the Real Montana.

We have been privileged to hunt at the Flynn Ranch twice now (my father and I) and the experience hasn't changed a bit. The food is wonderfull and plentiful. The living room chats will put a smile on your face and good memories in your heart. Kelly and his hands really know their business and how to guide for elk. Kelly and his staff have great attitudes and values. It was a pleasure to stay at the Hidden Hollow and I hope we can come back in the future.

Thanks Kelly!

My husband and I travelled to Hidden Hollow in summer 2012- all the way from Australia. We were met by Kelly at the airport and transported to the ranch. The next 3 days were pure fun! I can't rave enough about the hospitality, the food, the company and the fun. All co workers and other guests added to the sense of being together in the right place at the right time. At the end we felt like we were leaving family rather than moving on. Highly recommended. Ellen and Bruce

Went here with my 13 year old son, stayed for a week, could have stayed forever. What a fantastic, amazing and authentic ranch holiday experience. You are welcome to engage in as little or much of the ranch work as you like and we soaked it up like a sieve. Horse's are great to ride with lots of riding opportunities which allows access to some really breathtaking scenery and views. Worked the cattle and drove the herd to new pasture, how cool was that. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly, patient, helpful, tolerant and supportive. Food was great and plentiful with a hearty breakfast, lunch was usually in the form of a pack up as we were out and about and then a dinner fit for the biggest of appetites and believe me you work up a good appetite.

Make sure you take a trip to Helena and visit the local museum and, weather permitting, take a dip in the lake.

All in all a great holiday, highly recommended and would definitely go again. Thanks guys.

Chris and Jake, Just wanted to thank your for your great review. There was lots of action at the Hideaway throughout the rest of the summer, but we certainly enjoyed our week with you. Hope school is going well for you. Siobhan is back to college and Thomas and Dillion are back to high school. Life scurries on. We will send you an annual update at Christmas. Meanwhile, have a great year, and we hope you come back to visit us again! Jill

If you are looking for the REAL deal, come to Hidden Hollow Hideaway! You are able to participate in every aspect of ranch life - or not - but you will WANT to! This is a working ranch, where everyone is busy from sunrise until long after dark. The horses are sweet and well trained, with plenty of giddy-up to herd the cattle. The coffee is on at 6:30 every morning and the clean pine scented air is invigorating, as you start the day. Each day has a new adventure - you might see a herd of elk or antelope crossing the pasture ahead of you! Remember to pack your hiking boots too! The scenery is awesome! I promise you will sleep well every night in the comfortable and charming cabins. Yes they have WIFI and Dish TV. They serve great home cooked meals 3 x a day. The Flynn family are super hosts and share their legacy with unassuming class. You'll be glad to know them. What are you waiting for????

Our family of 3 went this summer for almost a week. This family knows how to entertain along with giving you true ranching experiences. Their cabins are awesome, food is wonderful and the best part are the activities that you can spend time with them doing. Their Montana roots go back several generations. The treasures within their mountains are more than wildlife and cattle. We highly recommend visiting their ranch. You are guaranteed an enjoyable and memorable experience.
