We had a top floor corner room and it was very nice, with 3 windows. It had a small seating area and the furnishings were beautiful. The gym was well-appointed (racquet ball courts, strength training, and cardio.) There are lovely seating areas near the lobby. The staff were friendly. The TV wouldn't show local channels; that may have been a room-specific issue as other guests didn't experience that. Our room wasn't cleaned during the two night stay, nor was the bed made while we were there. When I asked about it later the first full day, the clerk didn't know why but did offer clean towels. The clerk the next morning explained that you have to put a sign outside the door requesting service or you get none. There was no sign in the room instructing us to do that.

We had a top floor corner suite, which gives us a slightly different experience from those in different rooms. The room was wonderful. Four windows in the bedroom, and more in the spacious bathroom. No expense has been spared anywhere, to ensure the accommodation both respects its history, but also addresses the needs of a modern traveller. The public rooms are really well presented, and give various areas to sit in comfort and just absorb the atmosphere of the place. The two reception staff we dealt with, (Sam and Matt), were exemplary, and couldn’t really be improved upon. The hotel is wonderful. The attached bar was odd. It should have complimented the refined, sedate atmosphere of the hotel. When we were there, it didn’t. The music was discordant, the barman too present/familiar. It needs a rethink. However, my review is about my experience of the hotel, not the bar, and it was first class.

The Pollard in Red Lodge is absolutely the best - wish I could give them 10 stars! When we travel to Montana we will detour from our direct routes just to enjoy the Pollard and Red Lodge. To begin with, the location could not be any better - on Main Street and so handy if you like to stroll the town like we do. The hotel itself is like it stepped out of a Hallmark movie with beautiful furnishings and decor embracing it's rich history. We feel warmly welcomed the minute we walk in the door. The rooms are roomy but cozy and best of all spotless. We have everything we need for a comfortable stay, including the hotel-supplied bathrobes. And if you prefer the peace of a warm fire, the guest lobby is made for you. The on-site restaurant, Marli's, is an added bonus, with the best breakfast, and again attentive employees making sure you are happy with your meal. And that leads to the best attribute of The Pollard - the hotel staff! The front desk attendant was so gracious and let us know they would help us in any way. We were so content we extended our stay for an extra night! The Pollard in downtown Red Lodge was originally just an overnight stay as we traveled by, but has now become a destination in itself. It is a real gem!

We booked the Pollard suite, the nicest room they offered. The pictures online show a room with lots of windows looking to the outside. The room we got had one window over looking the interior lounge and looking into 6 other guest rooms. I asked at the front if there was a price difference for the interior room, she said there was not. These rooms are grossly misrepresented on their website and certainly not worth the extra money. When discussed with staff, who was very kind and helpful, they said this had been brought up with management and the owner who do not see an issue. I would not book this hotel again unless they are doing some sort of discount as you do not know if you’ll get an interior room or not and the hotel is fairly expensive. I hope they start accurately representing their rooms online and start offering a price difference for interior vs exterior rooms. At minimum customers should know what type of room they are booking. Over all do not recommend.

I attended an event last night in The Hemingway Room at the Pollard. It was a Valentine’s Day themed event for Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary, a local non profit here in Red Lodge. The accommodations were perfect and the food was UHMAZING!! The staff went above and beyond throughout the evening ensuring everyone in the room felt like the most important person in the room! Sending a HUGE shout out to Lee, Kayla, and Gena all led by Heather👏🏻 I would 100% recommend having your next special event here! Large or small, the space is PERFECT! Thanks guys, for everything!

From the moment you walk in to this historic hotel, Kat welcomes you above and beyond at the front desk. She is more than accommodating! The hotel itself never disappoints with its charm. Onto the bar and restaurant ...Alex is probably the best mixologist/bartender you'll ever have the opportunity to be served by. His creativity is outstanding, along with his overall knowledge of his craft, and it is nothing but entertaining to watch and converse! We did have dinner reservations elsewhere, but had the opportunity to eat breakfast at Marli's which was fantastic. The subtle twists on everything, including the "Garden Mary" ...a must try, makes everything on the menu unforgettable. We were taken great care of by Randy and Lina. Overall, a great experience, once again, at the Pollard! As always, we can't wait to return.

The Pollard has the best possible combination of vintage old west charm and modern cleanliness. It is simply a beautiful vintage property. Rooms are tight but comfortable. Staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. They even have a nice gym on site, unusual for a vintage property.

The Pollard Hotel is bar none, five star exceptional. Attention to every detail, cleanliness, perfection in style and ambiance, staff kindness and helpfulness, the food, oh the food, the daily fresh donuts (!!), the location, the gym, the ease and comfort of the room...it all adds up to a truly perfect experience. We cannot recommend this enough! Go and stay as long as you can!

There are times I will give a 5 star rating not because it is a 5 star facility, but because I felt the place earned it by doing the best they were capable of and I was a happy customer. The Pollard just blew me away with everything about the hotel. It is old and historic but appears to have been built in the last few years as everything just has a new look and feel to it. The lobby where you check in is nice, but they also have a sitting room with a fireplace if you want a quiet place to read a book. The staff was friendly and assured me my vehicle would be safe on their parking lot when I left for a day of fishing even after I had checked out. Room was actually a suite with a separate TV room and had everything I would expect from a high end hotel. Restaurant onsite and I was quite happy dining there. Definitely would stay again and if you sign up for Stash rewards you get an excellent deal.

I was planning to drive the Beartooth Highway so I decided to spend the night in Red Lodge and start in the morning. My only regret was not getting to Red Lodge earlier in the day to spend some time there as it is an adorable town. The Pollard is in a perfect location right on Broadway walkable to lots of cute shops and restaurants. The hotel is cute - almost reminded me of a bed and breakfast. The decor is old fashioned - sort of turn of the century. Staff was really nice. Had complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning. We got there around 9p and checked out by 10am so we didn’t spend much time there but would absolutely stay there again should we find ourselves in Montana again.
