We stayed here in one of the interior rooms 4 years ago when we visited Glacier National Park and absolutely loved it so we made it a priority to stay here again. It's a short drive to the park from The Polebridge entrance. This time we stayed in the little cabin outside. The cabin is a bit rustic with a deluxe outhouse, but it does have a heater which works nicely. If you prefer indoor plumbing I'd suggest booking a room inside the main house. The hosts, Paul and Nancy, are simply lovely, and Nancy is an excellent cook. The rates are good, as well. We definitely see ourselves coming back.

Thank you for your kind words. We so enjoyed visiting with you and learning a little bit about your country. However, I was surprised that you only gave the "value" a three. What can we do to improve that? Thanks again and our best to your family.

This place is about 3 miles short of the Canada border so it doesnt get much more remote than this... and that's the reason to go. Paul & Nancy are fine hosts, and the rooms are great/big/comfy (get the upstairs room with the balcony if you can). While there is some wifi, its really only good for a few emails. Essentially you are going to be cut off from the world (well, internet wise) which is part of the reason to go. we had moose and deer visit in the yard while we were having a very well cooked breakfast (the salt lick in the front yard helps). and the sunsets are priceless. its about 25-30 mins north of Polebridge, the last bastion of civilization up there (And also worth stopping at) and its an entirely dirt road up (its smooth..but your car will get dirty). Thank you for your kind words. We're delighted a Big City guy could relax and enjoy our special part of the country, as far from NYC as you can get! We hope the memories of total stillness and starry nights will be with you in the hustle bustle of life. Thanks again. Nancy and Paul

The Way Less Traveled is a "jewel" of a find, a luxurious bed and breakfast located 17 miles north of Polebridge and 3 miles south of the Canadian border on the North Fork Road. This gravel road was freshly grated and we enjoyed seeing plenty of Montana wildlife as we traveled north. Detailed directions were provided and “The Way” was easy to find. Nancy and Paul are the best of hosts who make you feel like family the moment you walk through their door. Views of the Canadian mountains and the west range of Glacier National Park are absolutely spellbinding. This bed and breakfast is located off the grid, but you'd never know it. Every amenity you could wish for is available, including Wi-Fi, but why bother checking email here? This place is good for the soul. Our

On the initial trip up the North Fork Road, we began to wonder if we'd ever get there, but once we arrived, we soon learned this would be the perfect place to conclude our Glacier NP vacation. We spent 3 nights in the spacious, clean and comfortable Lewis & Clark room, which afforded gorgeous views of the Boundary Mountains and spectacular star-gazing from the deck at night. Paul and Nancy (and Storm, their Malamute) were terrific hosts providing friendly conversation, delicious breakfasts ("hiking fuel") at a time of our choosing and even help identifying unfamiliar birds we saw on the Bowman Lake trails. We would highly recommend "The Way" to anyone wanting to spend time on the less-crowded, west side of Glacier NP.
