We stayed for a week at the Montana High Country Lodge. Russ and Karen could not be more accommodating. The lodge and rooms were clean, the food was great, the views are incredible. Wildlife is abundant. The location provided us within minutes of some of the Most Beautiful Scenery in the Country. We can't wait to return next year!
This is the 4th time I have lead a motorcycle tour to Montana. We stay 6 days each time. Russ and Karen are outstanding hosts and the food is plentiful and very good. You can not go wrong staying at the lodge.
I was part of a motorcycle tour group that stayed here from 1-6 Aug 2019. I was in awe when we came around the corner and show the location of the lodge. It is set in some of the most beautiful country. Then when we got off the bikes. Karen and Russ were there to greet us and made us all feel at home. The common areas of the lodge are very inviting and relaxing. Then Russ showed us to our rooms and mine was well furnished. After unpacking and checking things out, a well prepared meal was served that was far better than any high dollar resturant. That continued every day for breakfast and dinner. I sure hope that we can go back next year. Karen and Russ are amazing people and very friendly.
We called last minute and Russ fit my wife and I into his schedule and we were able to hunt cow elk the last week of the season. Russ was also our guide on the first frigid morning of our hunt. Very knowledgeable of the area we went to and of the animals travel routes. We hiked to a vantage point and waited for the elk to move within range. An hour after sun-up we were putting tags on two beautiful animals. We spent the rest of the weekend exploring the area and enjoying the amenities of the lodge. Great host, great outfitter and awesome memories!!
Russ and Karen Kipp offer a hunting and fishing lodge that is also a bed and breakfast. We were there for the latter so that my husband could revisit places in the area where he vacationed with his parents many, many years ago. The lodge is very spacious, as are the rooms. The whole place is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner(there are no close dining options), and both were satisfying and graciously served by the Kipps or Karen’s 95-year-old mother, who is there part of the year. It is my understanding that a professional staff is employed during much busier times of the year. This is just a gem of a place—a lovely host family in a gorgeous location with very comfortable accommodations. We would return in a heartbeat!
