Exceeded my expectations. I selected this because it was a vintage-style travel court motel, and I wanted something simple. I realized I might sacrifice amenities for that. There was no sacrifice! The room was updated, very comfortable, quiet, and included all the amenities I would need (hairdryer, microwave, refrigerator, fluffy towels, Keurig coffee maker with good selection of coffees, and great water pressure in the shower). The room was plenty large with enough space to do yoga :-) The manager (owner?) was friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Small motel situated along Highway 89 but there was no street noise. It is a Western themed motel on the outside and not hard to miss. The young lady who was the receptionist and room cleaner was working very hard the day we were there. She was very friendly. The room was large with all the usual amenities and we had everything we needed. Greatly appreciated was the light in the bathroom which had an option of being a nightlight - great for little ones and seniors. I would recommend this motel with hesitation.

We were passing through the area and needed a place to stay for the night. This place exceeded our expectations and was very nice! We stayed in a 2 queen room. We loved the western room themes, and ours had fun decor like horseshoe towel racks. The eggplant purple carpet was awesome as were the lavender towels, definitely set apart the place when compared to standard white towels and hotel carpet. The heater kept our room as warm as we wanted. The outer hallway (which got really cold) had fun wildlife photos donning the walls like a gallery of sorts. They gave us an extra rollaway bed free of charge, which was so nice! As a side note, there was a booking discrepancy--the owner had the incorrect date in his system for our stay, but thankfully they had availability for us the night we needed and there were no issues. There is a McDonald's across the street if you need a cheap bfast since bfast isn't included. The lodging price was very reasonable, and the surrounding mountains were very scenic...we would love to come back again and explore the area!

I didn't know what to expect; the Livingston Inn is a family owned motel; check-in was nice ( the small lobby/office was filled with people. probably all family. We stayed in room 4; all rooms are level entrance and the hallway is filled with cool pictures. The room had a very strong smell of cleaning chemicals when we arrived and we opened the door, window and had the A/C going to get rid of it. We had everything we needed, like powdered coffee creamer, coffee, tea, etc. All the bathroom products are big bottles of soap, shampoo, etc. We had a recliner, round table a chair (which had to double as a nightstand), good amount of outlets (no USBs); the room was on the small side, so we had to close our carry-ons to store them in the room. It was quiet, and had good heat. The bed was very comfy, pillows were okay and it was clean enough. The office was not open in the morning, even though they were supposed to be open at 8am. No breakfast, but we went out. Yes, we would stay again.

Our room wasn’t ready until 9:00 pm. I arrived with an elderly relative at 7:45 pm, well after the 4:00 pm check in time on Mothers Day.
A note was at desk with a number to call. The only person working answered and said she was making up rooms because someone hadn’t done the laundry. No apology.
The worst part was when I tried to be kind and say I wasn’t mad even though my elderly relative was VERY tired, the young lady responded with “well I AM MAD because it’s Mother’s Day and I’m working late.
Whoa….. Where were the owners! Why was the office locked when we cked out next morning?? I was going to ask for some money back since we were cheated out of 5 hours in our room.
I cancelled 2 rooms I’d reserved later in May because of this.
The rooms here are lovely but who cares if you can’t access them when you have paid for them? And no one to speak to to address the situation but an employee who resents working late.

Room wasn't ready when we checked in at 5:30p, not a big deal as we were heading to a concert. She checked us in and gave me a handwritten code for our room door as well as all of the usual information while talking about how her helper didn't show up and she was behind. No harm, no foul, everything is fine.
(Make a note: Do not leave the property without first trying your door code. Wait until she has it programmed and ensure it works.)
Return from the concert at 11:30p, pack everything into the hallway, and the code for our room doesn't work. No way to enter our room. Signs everywhere with a phone number to call if help is needed. Called the number 10+ times, texted, left voicemails, tried the code multiple times, wandered the small property looking for signs of life, rang the doorbell on the office door, no answer, calls straight to voicemail. Called several other hotels in Livingston and Bozeman but everyone was full, which was not a surprise. Packed everything back into our vehicle, left the property around midnight to drive 2 hours home. Thank goodness it was only 2 hours.
Call was finally returned at 1245a as we were driving home. Oops, 'left the phone in the office, I guess I need a second number, gee, sorry about that, the code didn't work?' I let her know I expected a full refund ($191 and change). We'll see how promptly that happens as she didn't really respond to that request. She was apologetic but didn't offer any type of resolution other than 'drive safe.'
She is quite obviously overwhelmed by the property and the amount of work it takes to run, being understaffed, etc. I was empathetic until I was driving home in the rain, knowing all of our plans for the following day were now canceled because someone wasn't able to keep track of their business phone.
The office is unmanned after regular business hours. You may not be able to get into your room for several hours after check-in or perhaps not at all. I'm thankful we chose not to unload our belongings as she suggested when we checked in or we would have been stranded in the hallway, sitting on the floor for over an hour until she realized she misplaced her telephone. There is nowhere to camp out, if needed, other than the hallway or your car. No chairs, no sofas, no access to a bathroom. There are benches outside in the parking lot but it was 40 degrees and raining last night.
All in all, it was certainly a huge disappointment and incredibly frustrating. Glad we weren't on a vacation, stranded to sleep in our car overnight, or worse yet, sleeping in the hallway.
Tried to support a locally owned business instead of a chain and was left very disappointed. Book at your own risk. It's going to be a long, difficult summer for this business and patrons if this continues. Sad.

Spent a night here on a road trip & was majorly impressed! The rate was so incredibly low (granted, it was a weeknight in early December) I had my doubts, but it far exceeded expectations! Location is ideal for travelers. Check in was a cinch. Room was on the small side, but cozy. Love how the rooms are essentially "drive up" a la old-fashioned motels, and yet there's a hall such that you don't open your door directly to the outdoors. I'll make a point of staying here again next time I pass through Livingston!

I knew I wasn’t staying at a Hilton, but think I’m reasonable that I expected the toilet to be cleaned prior to my stay. The toilet water was white with stuff floating in it it was also covered with urine feces and pubic hair. Shower not cleaned either and the drain was full of hair. We won’t talk about the floors but let me say this place won’t pass the white glove test nor the brown glove test. To wipe down the cabinets and the fridge the washcloth turned brown. The toilet water was white with stuff floating in it it was also covered with urine feces and pubic care. Shower or not clean cleaned either and the drain was full of hair. We won’t talk about the floors but let me say this place won’t pass the white glove test nor the brown glove test. To wipe down the counters, chairs and the fridge the washcloth turned brown. Beds where the quality of cheap RV beds, In plastic covers and sheets thread count of a cardboard box. So much for extra cleaning during the pandemic, they just opted or to clean. Owner offered no type of refund of the nearly $200 stay when I had to clean the toilet in order to use it. She said she would check into it, pictures and all. Only positive is that check in was great. Photos are what I cleaned out of tub, toilet and counter.

We try to find locally owned, non chain motels when we roadtrip. After near whiteout driving and reading a lot of reviews, we pulled off to stay at the Livingston Inn. We waited for the office to be reopened at 7:30 pm and were greeted by pungent marijuana smell. We appreciate that it was clean. We didn't enjoy the very thin walls, listening to the guests snoring through the night, lack of hand towels, coffee cups which smelled of the tiny hand soap, shared economy size shampoo & conditioner, or the heat pump trying to warm our cold room in the winter. The advertised online rate of $71 was just under $100 as we were charged for our dog (expected) and our children (seriously). Quirky for sure and not a place we'll hit up again.

Had a great 3 day stay here. Check in was by the new owner, very polite, helpful, and professional. Long glass enclosed hallway of many rooms, with ample parking outside of your room. Room was clean, everything worked, and was very comfortable. Fresh coffee, cereal, and fruit is available at front office after 8am. One interesting item we found is that there are no phones in the guest rooms..I guess the thinking is that most people nowadays have cell phones so it's not needed. of course, we don't have a cell phone and it crimped out plans as we were here to visit family and it presented a problem for us not being able to contact them to coordinate. Overall we recommend and will be back.

Another traveler mentioned there is a king room option. I've stayed in the two double queens room, and then a single queen room. Why not call John and Tillie Lamey and ask them, at 406-222-3600? They're friendly and quite accessible. The only problem you might run into is availability. This time of year is the busiest for Yellowstone NP, if that's where you're headed.

For me, check-in was fast, efficient, polite, and courteous."
