This place has such potential but is in so badly need of TLC and repair. Rooms are dark with wood paneling. Didn't mind the 60's vibe but the curtains and windows and mirrors were dirty; the rug we didn't want to even think about. With covid our only hope was it hadn't appeared anybody had stayed in that room for months. from the looks of the dust on furniture. The laundromat was just plain scary with rotted looking floors. BUT! we explored all day and only used it at night. It had an ice maker. The TV was newer and worked. As did the wifi. Came with a little refer [in stark need of defrosting] and a coffee pot. Good thing since none of the restaurants around there were opened on Monday nor Tuesday. The older woman at the check in was so nice you wanted to love it here. Wanted to stay for 2 nights but couldn't talk ourselves into another day at $65 a night. Bummed.…
We had a great stay. Nice thick towels, fantastic mattresses, and bigger than usual fridge. It was a restful place to spend a night and I don’t hesitate to recommend it. But we were sad that the little coffee kiosk nearby was closed for the season. However across the street was a cafe with generous breakfast portions and a Tesla charging station!
I experience hard snow when I hit Montana and I had passed the last services for miles. I was in the middle of a snow blizzard and was blessed to pull into Lima, MT with my family and find this motel. I called the number listed on door at 1am and manager was there to check in within 5 minutes. Got me a room and great price for a one night stay prompt. I then unloaded family into room as we got out of the blizzard. Great room in a time of need. The man that helped us was very friendly also.
On our way to Arizona we encountered bad weather and the interstate was closed for 32 hours at Lima, Montana. The first night we stayed at this so called motel. OMG!! Old old old..dark.. outside doorknob almost falling off.. tiles missing in bathroom..porcelain worn off the tub and sink... an old tube TV.. the room was probably original from the 60's. We were stranded a second night and slept in our car at the rest stop... I wasn't going to spend another $85 CDN for such a terrible place. YUCK!!!
Room was clean and comfortable with good heating. Staff were friendly and helpful. There's not much in Lima but there's a good Cafe across the road from the Motel and a pub in town as well. It's a great place to stay for cyclists riding the tour divide or GDMBR.
