    Our home away from home
The town of Gardiner is located right outside the North entrance to Yellowstone National Park, and the Gateway is conveniently located in the middle of town, within walking distance to all restaurants, and the only in-town supermarket. Whether you’re on a romantic couple’s trip, family fun expedition, or a group retreat, the Gateway Inn has proper accommodations for you. You can stay overnight, or spend the whole summer – this place has everything for your comfort! We had an opportunity to experience three different options: 1. One bedroom suite. Prefect for a couple and family with 1-2 kids, this suite has one bedroom with a king size bed and a sofa for two in the living room. 2. Two bedroom suite with plenty of space for two families. 3. River house. There are two newly-renovated houses next to each other sharing an outdoor patio overlooking the Yellowstone River and a riverside viewing deck. The view is absolutely spectacular! All suites and the house are generously decorated and have fully equipped kitchens. Organic toiletries are provided. All suites gave private entrances with little cute benches and a small table for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine outside (priceless during a pandemic). Mountain views, a well maintained landscape and deer wandering right at your doorsteps fill the place with unforgettable charm! There is a washer and dryer in the house, and it has everything to celebrate a special occasion or reunion. There is no need for plastic water bottles here – the tap water is clean and delicious. We hope to return again and bring more friends with us in the near future.

    Beyond Expections
We have just finished a three night stay here at the Yellowstone Gateway Inn. We booked somewhat last minute when a trip to Glacier was cancelled. Our tour guide, MacNeil of Yellowstone Insights, recommended staying here. His suggestion was GREAT! When we arrived we were told we were upgraded from the Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite to their home just across the street. WOW! The two bedroom house had two bathrooms, a full kitchen where everything was brand new, a dining room, living room with two full couches and a brand spanking new outdoor grill. We were the first ones to use it! The home was spotless and extremely quiet. Additionally, the home was equipped with much more than I would have expected. Complete coffee service (10-cup pot with coffee, filters, sugar and creamer); washer and dryer with laundry detergent; aluminum foil and Saran wrap; shampoo, conditioner & soap. We were amazed! Beds were very comfortable; there were tons of outlets to charge electronics; fine wi-fi service (you shouldn't be spending much time on line in this beautiful place anyway!!!); and three big screen TVs (one in the living room and one in each bedroom). We were simply surprised with this wonderful upgrade and we would have been happy with our original room. We'd definitely stay here again!

    Best option in Gardiner!
We stayed at the YGI in February. When we arrived, the woman manning the office very nicely walked us over to our apartment and showed us the features. The features were many! We had a king size bed which was very comfortable. There were 2 large flat screen TV's--one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. They had DirecTv which was a pleasant surprise. The Wifi worked well. It was easy to maintain a comfortable temperature despite the frigid temps outside. The apartment was well equipped, with a fully functional kitchen (not used in our case.) The bathroom was well laid out and even included a make-up mirror, which most people in YNP will not use, but was a nice touch! Most importantly, the whole apartment was spotless. We liked it so much we tried to reserve for our departure night, but it wasn't available. In my many trips to YNP, i've stayed at probably 6 or 7 properties. This is definitely where i will stay when i return to Gardiner.

We stayed in a king deluxe room which had a separate bedroom with a king bed and a queen bed in the living area, with full kitchen. The rooms were clean and equipped with the basic bath amenities and kitchen utensils, including decent coffee and tea. The hotel comes with resident deer who are friendly and curious. The bedroom heater didn't work so they brought us a space heater which kept the room toasty, although it was bit loud. Gardiner during the winter has limited dining options and Cindy, the hotel manager recommended the only restaurant open, within a short walking distance, Outlaw pizza, which I will review separately. But there is a very nice market across the street, Gardiner market, that has basics for cooking meals and a selection of prepared foods. The hotel

What a gem. The rooms are large and comfortable and the people are friendly and welcoming. Having a kitchen to do a little cooking definitely helps to keep costs down. It's right across the street from the Gardiner Market so you can grab anything you need. We were pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was!

My brother and I spent two nights here while visiting Yellowstone. I wish that the north entrance road was open, and then we would have spent more nights and just made this home base for the week. Accommodations were clean and spacious, including a full kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Climate control was excellent It’s an easy walk to the businesses in Gardiner, including the store and several restaurants. Plus we had cow elk at our door. Cindy greeted us on checkin, and was a true gem. I left some things, including a medication, behind when we checked out. We had relocated to Old Faithful., about 4 hr away due to road closure. She called me to let me know and then took it upon herself to find a Yellowstone paramedic, who could use the new road to

First a huge shout out to Cindy in the office. I woke her up with a VERY early call of distress. We needed to switch hotels due to unsatisfactory stay the night before. She was not only kind and accommodating, but also gave us an early check in as we needed to be ready for a wedding that afternoon! Huge thank you. The room was so nice, very clean, and embracing, comfy beds, great shower! She saved our day rewarding us with perfect grace.

Customer service is inconsistent. They say one thing, then do another. We had to cancel our reservation because we found out that their gate into Yellowstone is closed and that it would be several hours in driving to detour. I was first told by the hotel representative that there would be no fee on their end to cancel, then after cancelling with Expedia the hotel said they would charge a $75 fee. The next day my credit card was charged a $145 fee. Multiple attempts to discuss the inconsistent fee with management have gone without response.

We stay here every year and have been for several years now. The owner and staff are always accommodating. We stayed at one of their cabins this year and loved it. It had beautiful views of the mountains and river. We are staying there again next year. The rooms at the motel are very

My husband and I needed a weekend away so we went to Yellowstone but because the park has raised their prices to out of this world we ended up staying at Yellowstone Gateway Inn in Gardiner MT it was such an awesome place, it was cozy, and had a kitchen and separate bedroom it was just wonderful. Granted the owner's prices will go up in the summer but her winter price was outstanding at $99 a night.

The quaint and beauty of these pictures of the location doesn’t give it justice. We just returned from a 4 day stay and the Yellowstone Gateway Inn will be the place we stay again. The staff were helpful, kind, and gave personal touches that made the stay extra special. We had #106, and it was like staying in our own apartment. We grocery shopped and had everything we needed to make full breakfast, pack picnic lunches for Yellowstone, and then to come back “home” for homemade dinner. They also let us use the bbq to grill steaks. We felt at home and relaxed. Thank you to the staff for making our weekend getaway so wonderful.

We booked on line and chose this motel because of reviews. While staying in west Yellowstone, we called and asked if we could arrive a day early and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. We liked it there so much, we asked to extend our stay and once again, they came through for us, without having us change rooms. We were there on super bowl Sunday and they asked us to come over to a party at the office. Not many places we’ve stayed in ever offered anything close to that. Amazing staff, clean rooms, very pet friendly, and the elk and deer come to visit every morning.
