We stayed at Yellowstone Gateway Inn for one night during our trip to Yellowstone, and I wish we'd stayed another night or two. While it looks a bit unprepossessing from the outside, the room (really more like a small apartment) was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Having a kitchen to prepare food is a definite perk - we brought food with us and the large refrigerator was a definite plus for us. We were able to check in early and get our key, so we didn't have to rush back from the park to meet our check-in window - that may not be possible during busier times, but we appreciated the courtesy! This is a great option for couples or families looking for a place convenient to north Yellowstone, with a kitchen allowing you to bring and make your own food.

My husband and I come to Gardiner for easy access to Yellowstone and spend our vacations roaming National Parks to look for critters. We have stayed here before and knew that we could have our own mini kitchen . Since we are out in the park until 9 PM or later sometimes, we rarely get dinner at a restaurant and need the means to make something so having the kitchen is very helpful. From the outside the Gateway Inn doesn't look that impressive (clean and neat but not impressive-although when the Elk wander through the parking lot it always impresses me -which they do all over Gardiner). Once you open your room-which isn't a room so much as a "cabin" you will be delighted. The decor surrounds you with the sights of yellowstone. The inside has rustic decor but is beautiful and utilitarian. The bathroom and kitchen look newly renovated (the tile in the shower looks like sandstone cliffs to me) You have a living room with a couch and TV and dresser for storage. A small dining room where I did all my picture editing, a kitchen that has dishwasher, refrigerator , oven and microwave along with all the utensils , plates and bowls. The bathroom is small but has everything and there is an extra counter outside with a makeup mirror (which , yes, I know , I don't need to go to the park but still, I needed it). We had a king bed in the bedroom with extra pillows and blankets , a dresser, a desk and a TV (yes we watch TV before we go to sleep). But the even better thing about Yellowstone Gateway Inn was the host, Cindy. We made reservations months before we traveled and had some date adjustments and she helped a lot. She makes herself available to you all the time (possibly too much for one person--I am not sure that poor woman ever gets time off, but I am grateful). If she couldn't answer a call immediately, she texted me back (I saw her dealing with two to three different customers at a time- she is an amazing multitasker-thank you Cindy. Also for those of you with famiies, the office actually has a large collection of DVD's if you stay for the week and need a little movie time, although frankly cable access and wifi has improved dramatically in Gardiner and the Inn's cable is great, plus you can access your own netflix or prime. All in all , they have everything I need and I will be

Four adults spent three nights in one of the houses. If you’re looking for top of the line finishes like tile baths and granite countertops, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay, this is it. Loved having a fully stocked kitchen. We watched wildlife in the yard each morning with one curious elk looking in the window at us. Beautiful location right on the river. Highly recommend.

My wife and I rented a cabin for four days in April. The cabin was well stocked with all the kitchen utensils, pots, and pans needed to cook. It was a comfortable place to relax after an adventure in the park. The cabin's close proximity to the market was a real plus. We could walk to the market in less than two minutes. It was also easy to walk to any restaurant in town.

We stayed in a king deluxe room which had a separate bedroom with a king bed and a queen bed in the living area, with full kitchen. The rooms were clean and equipped with the basic bath amenities and kitchen utensils, including decent coffee and tea. The hotel comes with resident deer who are friendly and curious. The bedroom heater didn't work so they brought us a space heater which kept the room toasty, although it was bit loud. Gardiner during the winter has limited dining options and Cindy, the hotel manager recommended the only restaurant open, within a short walking distance, Outlaw pizza, which I will review separately. But there is a very nice market across the street, Gardiner market, that has basics for cooking meals and a selection of prepared foods. The hotel is not in the "Downtown" part of Gardiner which can be walked within 15 minutes. We stayed only one night before going into YNP so did not fully use all the facilities available that would make this hotel an excellent place for a family to stay multiple days during the summer.

What a gem. The rooms are large and comfortable and the people are friendly and welcoming. Having a kitchen to do a little cooking definitely helps to keep costs down. It's right across the street from the Gardiner Market so you can grab anything you need. We were pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was!

My brother and I spent two nights here while visiting Yellowstone. I wish that the north entrance road was open, and then we would have spent more nights and just made this home base for the week. Accommodations were clean and spacious, including a full kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Climate control was excellent It’s an easy walk to the businesses in Gardiner, including the store and several restaurants. Plus we had cow elk at our door. Cindy greeted us on checkin, and was a true gem. I left some things, including a medication, behind when we checked out. We had relocated to Old Faithful., about 4 hr away due to road closure. She called me to let me know and then took it upon herself to find a Yellowstone paramedic, who could use the new road to Mammoth, who then took them into Yellowstone. This saved us about 6 hr of driving round trip all the way back to Gardiner because I could meet him in the park. I was able to get my things from him near Mammoth ( without leaving the park). I had no idea that there was such goodness in people. I am very grateful to Cindy for her help. I am looking forward to staying at the Yellowstone Gateway Inn again.

First a huge shout out to Cindy in the office. I woke her up with a VERY early call of distress. We needed to switch hotels due to unsatisfactory stay the night before. She was not only kind and accommodating, but also gave us an early check in as we needed to be ready for a wedding that afternoon! Huge thank you. The room was so nice, very clean, and embracing, comfy beds, great shower! She saved our day rewarding us with perfect grace.

Customer service is inconsistent. They say one thing, then do another. We had to cancel our reservation because we found out that their gate into Yellowstone is closed and that it would be several hours in driving to detour. I was first told by the hotel representative that there would be no fee on their end to cancel, then after cancelling with Expedia the hotel said they would charge a $75 fee. The next day my credit card was charged a $145 fee. Multiple attempts to discuss the inconsistent fee with management have gone without response.
