Comfort fishing with all the boxes ticked. Plenty to offer wether you are a committed fly-fisher intent on flogging the Madison River to a foam, or a casual tourist keen to take advantage of nearby Yellowstone or Virginia City. I fished the Madison and enjoyed the experience – Competent guides put me on to fish and whilst I’ve caught bigger...

First time fly fishing and the guides were patient and took care of us. The whole staff was great. Food was top notch. Accommodations were excellent. This place is an Orvis endorsed fly fishing lodge and was the Orvis top lodge in 2015. Well, It lived up to my expectations.

Our trip was amazing! Great gourmet meals, wonderful conversation with other guests during morning and evening meals! Loved the hot tub (shhh... It felt like a secret!) Fishing guide was terrific! Loved every second of it!

We had a great time here and everything was better than expected. The weather is Montana in early May can be hit or miss for fly fishing but we made the most of it and the lodge did everything right! First class experience and 10/10 would do again

As you can see by the other reviews, men love this place. It is perfect for them. So I'm just going to throw in my opinions from the female standpoint. My husband and I have fished several times in the rivers of Colorado, but had never fished from a boat until visiting MVR. To my surprise, it was a great...

Yes, yes, a river runs through it. Well, not exactly through the property but close enough to walk to. There is also a wonderful stocked Trout Pond to practice your newly acquired skills or practice old ones. And, yes, this is the Mecca of fly fishing so bow smartly to the God of trout for He will gladly offer up...

You know Ennis is all about fishing when there are 4 Fly Fishing shops along the main street and a few others right outside of town. The Madison River is the central attraction, but you're also close to Yellowstone NP, only 70 miles. The staff is extremely friendly in a genuine way. Every detail is looked after, including outstanding dinner...

I'm an absolute novice at fly fishing...and began to wonder what possessed me to enroll in the Orvis Complete Trout School, to be held at Madison Valley Ranch-in Ennis, MT. I found the brochure at the Scottsdale, AZ Orvis shop and took it home on a whim. A few weeks later I had signed up and was shortly there after...

Elizabeth and her whole team were fabulous. Our guide Scott was extremely knowledgable for us first time fly fisherman, and they gave us private lessons on the pond upon arrival. We stayed three nights and had two days of guided fishing where we caught over +75 rainbow and brown trout floating the Madison river. Would have booked one more day...

“You don't need a pool or fitness center. There is a hot tub. Every room is great, so take what they give you. You will enjoy the communal "cold beverage of your choice" gathering just before dinner and the communal dinner where you get to know your fellow bunkmates.”
