My husband and I planned out our road-trip through Montana and I insisted to have the second leg of our exploration base be the Bitterroot River Ranch. The B&B did not disappoint, Dorothy and Lynn, the owners of the B&B, couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with each of them. Dorothy also helped started our day with delicious, out-of-the-world breakfast which we ate together with them and other guests. This is the first time in a B&B where we ate with the hosts and we wouldn't have it any other way. The house was beautiful and clean but what really made this stay unique is Dorothy and Lynn! We are back in Boston but already missed them very much. Max is the B&B mascot and boy oh boy did he take it so seriously :) He was such a well behaved dog! Thank you so much Dorothy and Lynn for welcoming us in your home with open arms!

Our dream of 20 years come true. There was nothing bitter about this 10 star log home. The title of bed and breakfast does not fit this beautiful place. A stunning home with breathtaking views. But of course it would be nothing without it's special hosts Dorothy and Lynn who were so welcoming and made us feel part of their family. Thanks to Dorothy for the fantastic food prepared in front of us each morning. Thanks to Lynn for taking time to show us around, a very interesting and informative man to talk with. Our stay in Montana consisted of driving 2,300 miles, staying in 7 different hotel's and b&b and none would come close to BITTERROOT RIVER RANCH. Good fun. Great food. Fantastic hosts. Go raibh mile maith agat. Which means A thousand thank you's. PAT and MARY.

Dorothy and her husband Lynn are very accommodating. We love their home and the setting. It is truly a slice of heaven. Dorothy makes the best breakfast ever. Upon arrival she had freshly home baked zucchini bread. They opened their home to us as if we were family. My wife and I have been to many Bed & Breakfasts throughout the country, this is our favorite. The town of Darby is very western and is fun to poke around. The home sits up on a hill and is only accessible by a short dirt road. Their dog Max is lovable.

This was the best place my wife and I stayed on our 16 day Montana vacation. The accommodations and setting are as Montana as one will find. Set on 48 acres this 6500 square foot log home gives guests plenty of space to stretch out as well as opportunity for private solace if that is what is desired. Dorothy is always around the property should you need anything or have a question or request. We used our stay as base camp for short drives to hikes in Bitterroot National Forest. The quaint small town of Darby is about 10 minutes away with interesting local shops and limited dining. The town of Hamilton is much larger with more food options and roughly a half hour away. The property is meticulously maintained and every inch of this log home is clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated in mountain motif. Every detail has been thoroughly contemplated to make sure the quest is completely satisfied. 360 degree views from the home allow beautiful views of both the Bitterroot and Sapphire mountain ranges. A hearty and delicious breakfast is served each morning with options for all food tastes A mid afternoon treat of some sort always awaits a quest upon return each day. If you are looking for a true 5 star accommodation in southwest Montana you just found it.

My son and I went to The Bitterroot Valley for a fly fishing trip for his graduation from Vet school. The fishing is what we want for and was really good BUT the highlight with the stay at the Bitterroot River Ranch. Lynn and Dorothy are great and made us feel at home. We looked forward to a great breakfast every morning before going fly fishing all day. We came back in the evening and looked forward to a special treat every night before bed. Hope to go back soon. I travel a lot for work and have stayed at a very nice hotels in the US, Asia and Italy but this was better than most of those.
