We stayed at the Alpine Motel for one night in mid June. The room was spacious and we had an amazing view from our patio. The managers were lovely. Incredible location for entering Yellowstone through the NE gate. Would stay there again if I make it back to that area.

Stayed here for a night before heading into Yellowstone. Friendly check in. Room was clean and had a lot of room. Clean accommodations. Parking is right outside the rooms. Free coffee in the morning. Decent wifi. Easy walk to several restaurants and some shopping.

We stayed one night in the Alpine Motel during a recent visit to Yellowstone. We stayed in Room 12, which was a single bed room in the strip of rooms opposite from check-in. The room was smallish and slightly worn, but the accommodations were sparkling clean. There was an older heating unit in the room that worked great to make the room cozy in no time. The toilet seemed abnormally low, so anyone with difficulty standing from a low seated position should take note. There are several good dining options within walking distance. We did clearly hear late arrivals, so sound traveled well through the walls. We wanted to be in Yellowstone for sunrise, so the location of the motel was perfect for that. We booked the day we arrived, so the rate was reasonable compared to the alternatives. Recommended!

Thank you for taking a few moments to review your stay with us. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Cooke City. Yes, you can certainly hear things go bump in the night at the Alpine Motel. We're proudly celebrating our 81st birthday this year and we like to keep our property as rustic and original as possible (Plus, it's required by code enforcement). Overall, we're glad you enjoyed your stay and would look forward to seeing you again if your travels return you to the area. Best wishes and safe travels.

We stayed 4 nights here. The first impression was of a cute little room. We have lots of gear and there was room to bring it in. No significant problems with the room, except we learned not to have the TV on and use the microwave at the same time (it trips the breaker). The man at the front desk dug the snow away from the breaker box and fixed the problem promptly. There is no cell service in Cooke City but the Wi-fi here, while not fast, got the job done. Maid service was hit or miss, but that was OK because we never ran out of towels. It was super cold and the room stayed pleasantly warm. Overall it was a good value for the price.

Thank you so much for reviewing your stay with us. We are glad you enjoyed your visit. I am concerned about the "hit or miss" maid service which you mentioned. Our housekeeping staff should always be on top of things and I would like the opportunity to address any issues with them. In a previous review you placed on another site, you mentioned that they only occasionally made your bed. I'm so sorry this happened. If there was ever any personal item on the bed, however, the housekeeping staff has been trained not to touch the personal item and therefore not to make the bed. As I mentioned in my response to your previous review on another site, we have repaired the breaker issue and guests will not have the problem of tripping a breaker any longer. Overall, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and your time in Cooke City, and we would look forward to seeing you again.

I previoulsly reviewed this hotel and tried to edit the review, but couldn't do it so I deleted that review and I am writing a new one. I wrote the previous review late at night and by the response I got from the manager, my wording was taken the wrong way. When I read reviews I want to know exactly what to expect, so that is how I write my reviews. This is a "no-frills" hotel, but that doesn't mean it is bad. The furnishings and building itself are not brand new (the floor in our bathroom was definitely not level), that is why I said the hotel could use some updating. As I mentioned in my previous review, our room was clean, and that is very important to me as I know it is to other travelers. I mentioned that the guy in the office doesn't stay late or come in early - This is not a complaint. Travelers just need to know what to expect. We have gotten spoiled to the big chain hotels having someone in the office 24/7. As mentioned before, he was very helpful. This was a good place to stay and was in a perfect location for our early morning entrance into Yellowstone. I would stay here again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to clarify your previous review. We appreciate that more than you know. And it is great to know that you would stay here again. You are correct when you say that this is not a new building with new furnishings. The Alpine Motel celebrated its 80th birthday this year. And I definitely understand being spoiled by the big chain hotels. I worked for one of those hotels for many, many years. In towns such as Cooke City, most managers and owners also live where they work and, therefore, most hotel/motel reception areas are not open 24/7 just to allow us some time with our families. I agree that travelers should know what to expect. And I want all travelers to know that, even when the office is closed, I am available to all guests 24/7 by the press of a doorbell. Thank you, again, for the clarification of your previous review. My team and I would look forward to seeing you again if your travels return you to the area. Best wishes and fond regards.
