We had been scrambling from the wildfires! Arrived after 10 pm. all rooms were already booked. Looked as if we had to sleep in the car after a 13 hour day of driving !!! The owner was so kind to open her door after closing, and was our hero!! We had a great stay, and the cabin WAS GREAT TOO!... More

We spent one night at the big moose resort we stayed in cabin number 8. The family that ran the resort were friendly and great. She allowed us to check in early and checked the cabin to make sure it was clean. The resort was well maintained and the family was doing work during the day which was nice to... More

My wife and I recently visited Cooke City for a wedding. We were very happy with our accommodations and found them to be very reasonably priced compared to other locations in the area. Terry the owner was very friendly and helpful. She was even able to accommodate special requests that we had! From the time we showed up to the... More

Without a doubt the worst night I have ever experienced in a hotel/motel. The positives are that you are surrounded by a beautiful forest and there is a hot tub near the office. The negatives are that it was not the room I had booked via phone call. There were no other rooms in the area or I would have... More

We found the log cabin, quiet,AND peaceful, comfortable, well equiped with a helpful, friendly owner.Very convenient on the north eAST ENTRANCE TO THE BEAUTIFUL yELLOWSTONE NATIONAL pARK. Plenty of wildlife, even the viewing of the Grizzy and the brown bear with her cinamon twin cubs.

We stayed here for two nights and after long 12 hour days exploring Yellowstone, we were surprised how glad we were to come back to a place that didn't feel like a hotel. The cabin we stayed in was cute with great pillows, warm quilts, great water pressure and DirecTV. The cabin did have Wifi access but we didn't use... More

Comfortable beds / clean everything/ lots of hot water / wonderful gas heater with easy to use thermostat. I am handicapped and had some difficulty on the 3 steps to the cabin. When I came back from dinner that had added a hand rail! Very thoughtful. Very quiet .

This was our second stay at Big Moose Resort. We absolutely love it here! Cabins are in the woods with deer right outside your window. Only 7 miles to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone and 3 miles to the shops and restaurants of Cooke City. The owners are great people. They are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Bev... More

Had to leave a campsite in the nearby national forest due to a bear (we were traveling with an infant, so did not feel safe spending the night in the woods). Came upon this gem right outside Yellowstone National Park, and got a cabin right away. Clean, comfortable, wonderful bathroom and cozy furniture. The owner was super friendly, and was... More

This was my second visit to Big Moose Resort. I recommend it highly for the Lamar Valley wolf watching crowd, and for folks wanting somewhere quiet, away from the crowds. Our room was clean, the owner was friendly & easy to work with. The other review about moths & spiders, well, it is a cabin. It is in the outdoors,... More
