We have stayed here every summer for the past twenty years and it's always been enjoyable. However there has been a recent change in ownership and management and we found a couple of things objectionable. First, we made a reservation the previous summer with a particular rate and then were told that there was a price increase and our previous confirmed reservation price would not be honored. Second, the new manager flies the Gadsden flag in front of the office. He is entitled to his political beliefs but we found the public display of that flag at a facility that serves people from many states and some foreign countries to be quite offensive.

The camping was cheap and the field was grassy and even, yes there were a lot of mosquitoes but that is what bug spray is for. The bathrooms were very clean and had flush toilets. There is free wifi, has cell service, and a small store on site. This isn’t a huge camp ground but it’s a gem in the area.

We very much enjoyed our six day stay at the campground. This place is old school...not fancy and no pretenses and yes the sites are located close to one another. That said, great location on the Madison River, beautiful scenery, full hook-up, very friendly neighbors and close to Yellowstone.

Wow. We stayed at West Fork last September (2018). I forgot to write a review, so will do one now. We are scheduled for a return trip this coming September, because we were so pleased. Quiet, and comfortable. RV and tent sites are clean, level and accommodating to these folks. We stayed in a cabin, which had everything we needed. Quaint and comfortable, and ready for an extended stay. Staff was helpful and prompt in assisting us. If you fish, the river is just a few steps away. Fishing right near the resort is as good as anywhere on the river. Montana Fish and Game were electro-shocking to check fish populations while we were there. Results showed over 4,000 fish per mile. Best place we've seen on the upper river. Central location. Fish on! Cabin on! Peace and quiet on!

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. The cabin (#11) was clean and well maintained, the bed was very comfortable and had a nice view. Everything we needed was provided, towels, soap, dishes, microwave, full stove/oven and fridge. The water from the tap even tasted good! There is a BBQ grill outside with supplied charcoal and lighter. From the front porch, the view was spectacular, mountains with snowy peaks. The grounds were also very nice. The staff and other guests were friendly and pets are welcome. Our dog had as much fun as we did! The camp is in a great location, right between the West fork and the Main Madison river. We spent so much time exploring that fishing never happened, although it was probably the draw for many guests. Highly recommended!

Great stay in a classic Montana cabin. The furnishings are rustic but they had a kitchenette with everything we needed. The shower was newly remodeled also. The double queen is an excellent value. By far the best part of this place is the location. You are a few minutes walk away from the Madison. Wading or floating, you are close to all the good fishing here. Real cabins for real fishermen.

We just spent a week at West Fork. Our extended family all met there. We could get every accommodation we needed. We had 3 tent sites, an RV site, and 2 cabins. The tent sites were huge, totally level and rock and twig free--a rarity in tent camping! There was a huge open grassy area where the kids could run and play, fly a kite, laugh, and have fun. They loved it! A day trip into Yellowstone Park was easy. Barb and Chuck were wonderful, helpful hosts and make you feel like you are part of the family. The cabins had the basics of what you needed, and I was able to cook our of a small one for 16 people. I did bring my own large pots and pans, and we ate at picnic tables in the tenting area. Worked great for us. I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Book early, or there won't be a room. This place is in high demand. RV sites go quickly too.

Had a great time visiting and staying with Chuck and Barb at the West Fork. They are really great people who seem to enjoy what they do. We love the cabins and the cinnamon rolls. Always rest well and love the proximity to the river.

Five of us shared Cabin 7 for a week in late July, Early August. We had a great time in our little space. Stove and refrig worked great and the beds were comfortable, even the rollaway! The little front porch was a saving grace as we spent a lot of time hanging out there. It was nicely equipped with bar-b-ques and an outside table shared with the folks next door. We had a "little mouse" for a guest, but he didn't eat much! The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. This is not a luxury retreat, but a great place for family to reconnect with each other and the environment. Great location in terms of fishing and access.Be sure you are comfortable without maid service, etc. The cabin was clean and it was easy to get new linens, etc. Rustic, of course! It is Montana after all!!!

We spent 4 nights here and it was great. Right on the river for fishing. Very neat and clean cabin. Maybe about 40 minutes from West Yellowstone and Yellowstone National Park where rates are so much higher for less. We drove into the the town and park each day. Very pretty scenic drive along the Madison River and Quake Lake. Quake was formed in 1959 when an earthquake caused a mountain face to dam up the Madison forming the lake. Sad that 28-29 died there and most of their bodies were never found and covered in the landslide.
