We were in an apartment that was part of the hotel and there was plenty of space. The location is great and the pool is nice, especially with children (even if they cannot go there after 6.30 pm). The restaurant (outside of the hotel) was not particularly good, though.
We stayed here with family for 2 nights, had a great time at the location as well as the near by surroundings. Hotel rooms were quite big and overall very clean. Staff is friendly. There is indoor pool, sauna and gym. All very well maintained. There is parking outside on site as well.
Very cosy hotel with a very particular atmosphere! The personnel is very kind. The atmosphere is ideal to relax. Very good for families with kids. The ski resort is near with an excellent choice of slopes. In case of bad weather, the salty swimming pool makes the day! To be recommended.
We spent a short weekend at this hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Building is somehow outdated, seems from the 70's or so. But place is clean and quiet. Rooms are big, we had a balcony with a wonderful view to the valley. Spa is ok, nothing spectacular, but also clean. Breakfast was nice. We just enjoyed the peace and silence of this place.
Be aware, this hotel is not 4* according to current standards! The ratings on tripadvisor are quite misleading. It may have been an upperclass hotel when it was built ages ago, but the facilities are very outdated and only the bare minimum has been invested for maintenance. Even the neon sign on top of the hotel is falling apart and not working properly! Although the staff was friendly, the room cleanliness was poor (the toilet was still dirty from the previous guest) and when we complained, they did not apologize at check out. Breakfast was good. The “spa” is very small with a small sauna and steam bath. The pool, however, is nice. For more than CHF200 a night, one could expect much more! Overall, we were disappointed and cannot recommend this hotel for this price!
As I was looking for a place to soak in hot water for a few days (I needed a rest and to recover from an accident), I came across this delightful place which is only 2.5 hours by train from where I live (Geneva). Since it was off-season, I easily booked a small apartment with a kitchenette for a 10 day stay. The pool is a great compromise between some of the other thermal bath centres in the Valais: it is small but beautiful and the atmosphere is healthy without that medicalised feeling you get in some places. A lot of local people drop in regularly (which I take to be a good sign). You get a free bathrobe and towel for use in the pool area. The breakfast buffet is good and the service friendly. One can get free coffee, tea and rose quartz water in the lobby whenever one wishes. For those who want activity there are lots of lovely trails to hike...…
Cosy and very clean. Very good food. Bread usado great. Good coffee, Mille and cheese. They offer tea and milk for free. Excelent conseils about trip to glaciar. Ask and do it. Enjoy as much as us. Followers road to Furka.
I've been going to the wellness center to use the indoor healing bath and gym facilities for as long as I can remember. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The place is always immaculately clean. If you are lucky you can have the place to yourself but if not it normally is not too busy. I highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking to end a day of hiking or skiing in the relaxing wellness center underneath the hotel.
Had a lovely time at this warm and friendly hotel! A family run business which means you get a endearing experience. The facilities are kept to perfect condition and the food and coffee is fantastic. So close to all the best part of the Valais, there is no other place to stay.
The initial reaction on arrival is that the hotel is a little dated, but you soon realise that furniture is extremely comfortable, walls have been recently painted, and everything is spotlessly clean. A lot of money has been spent on the spa's facilities, with the options for various treatments too. The saltwater pool is a delight, with really strong 'jets' spaced around two sides which give muscles a real pummelling, from the soles of the feet, up to your shoulders, depending on which you choose - fabulous! There is a lovely locker room, offering several showers for before swimming, with an area of 7 hairdryers for use afterwards, plus sauna. Aquagym is offered at 7.30 3 days a week, an excellent way to start the day before tackling the delicious spread of breakfast (great range of breads and rolls). I think all bedrooms have a balcony, complete with a little rack thoughtfully provided for drying one's swimming gear. A robe and towel for use in the spa are provided per person. Our bedroom (212) had a kitchenette area in addition to a very comfortable bed and two arm chairs, plus a table and upright chairs; and the bathroom offered a good quality hairdryer. A small comfortable lounge at the entrance offers a coffee machine and a huge range of tea bags, for use all day/evening, but there is no kettle in the bedroom. Half-board included for our summer stay dinner served in one of two restaurants down in the village of Morel at the foot of the hill, and complimentary bus transfer can be booked if you don't want to drive down the narrow, windy access road. The main attraction of this hotel was, for me, the pool, and it would be a frustration to come here without swimming gear - but there are cozzies available to buy, just in case! Enjoy the pummelling of muscles by those jets in the pool! Another attraction was the local access to cable cars etc to get up to see the Aletsch glacier. The hotel offers a 'tip for the day' for a local walk, and staff can help with other ideas.…
