I can’t say enough great things about Gallatin River Lodge. Every single person we encountered had the best demeanor and we’re all so helpful. The rooms in the lodge are great and the food is something you’d find in a fine dining restaurant. Thanks to Keith, Valerie and Amy in particular for their helpfulness. We will be back!

Upon entering you will be immediately welcomed with a warm hello in the beautiful and cozy lodge. There are only a few rooms in the main lodge which gives it a b&b feel. The staff was kind and eager to help. We had no issues and no complaints.
The location is perfect for those that want the secluded feel of a fishing lodge but want to be close enough to town to pop over for lunch. Our room had a jacuzzi tub which I took full advantage of. The sheets are to die for.
I would recommend this for couple. It had a cozy romantic feel and my partner and I throughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for two nights and the lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. Rooms were comfortable with terrific beds, the public areas were warm and inviting, and the outdoor space truly beautiful. Staff was terrific and helped us plan a few fun activities in the area. But they also let us just sit back and enjoy a peaceful respite after a busy Yellowstone trip. Food was really delicious, never had a bad meal, and staff was extremely accommodating. Will absolutely return!

This is the first time my husband and I have stayed in a place like this--an intimate lodge stay. Admittedly, though we didn't know exactly what to expect, we were caught off guard at first. It is of course a fairly small place, only 12 rooms, our room was located just upstairs from the check in desk. The staff is small, but mighty. Once we settled in to the experience, we had the best time. The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, and gorgeous snowy views out every window. The staff is truly top-notch, some of the best we have encountered in the world, truly. Valerie and Ryan, whom we encountered the most, went above and to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we could possibly want or need. The friendliness and warmth of all the staff truly stands out. We spent the day out at Yellowstone so the kitchen packed us a lovely boxed lunch for our day of adventuring. Like every other meal we had here, even our box lunch was spectacular. My husband and I consider ourselves foodies and we have a great appreciation for high caliber food and drinks. The Gallatin River Lodge absolutely does not disappoint here; everything is beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Our quick weekend getaway was made so very special by the wonderful folks here and we were already planning our return trip before we left. Easy access to Bozeman and the airport, an easy and beautiful drive to Yellowstone 90 minutes away, a gorgeous setting that feels worlds away from every day life, and service that is world class. Do yourself a favor, don't skip this place. Thank you GRL for a wonderful weekend, can't wait to return!

The room was nice, comfortable and spacious. The staff were super friendly and enjoyable. The food was excellent. Overall everything was quite good but if felt a little pretentious with $15 prices for a glass of whiskey and high prices for small portions of food. Presentation was great and taste was good, but in general the food and drink seemed disproportionately priced. Atmosphere is very nice, cozy, romantic but there were not very many people there this time of year. Might have a different vibe in the summer but I would stay there again.

Hello Chris - I'm so happy that you enjoyed your room and the atmosphere of the lodge. I'm very sad to hear you felt the dining room selections and pricing felt pretentious - as this is the exact opposite of our goal. Your feedback is truly appreciated. Thank you, Rikki

My company held a 2-day leadership retreat at Gallatin River Lodge. We were able to host the event and meals under a pavilion outside, in an appropriately distanced way (important for safety during these times). The staff at GRL was fantastic and very accommodating of our needs throughout. My team benefited greatly from the opportunity to collaborate together in a safe and beautiful setting.
Gallatin River Lodge is close to Bozeman and is convenient to recreational opportunities in the area, but sufficiently remote for a beautiful lodge setting.
I highly recommend GRL for both business and recreational visits.

+1
We had a wonderful stay just outside Bozeman (10 mins) at the Gallatin River Lodge. With only 12 rooms, the GRL is able to focus on quality service and beautiful rooms with lovely views. The staff feels like family, the vibe is quiet and simple fun...take a bottle of wine out to the pavilion to play corn hole, challenge your family to a game of horse shoes on the lawn, enjoy snacks overlooking the pond. It's a short Uber ride into downtown Bozeman for shopping, dining and fun breweries, but be sure to come back in time for dinner at the Gallatin River Grill for the fresh, delicious dining offered at the lodge. Fabulous food! A big highlight for us was the guided fly fishing float trip we took one day on the Madison River. Our guide was knowledgeable, experienced and patient (we are beginners.) Incredible day! We can't wait to come back and bring our whole family!!

When we stayed here before the meals were amazing and when we wanted to book our trip for our 20th anniversary we wanted the same experience we had the last time we stayed.
I called after I booked our room and asked about the meal plan. I was told they didn’t have one setup yet but the kitchen would he open during our stay.
Nothing was said about it being closed in Sunday’s. Then two weeks before our stay we got an email stating the kitchen would he closed july2-5th. NOT cool … I would have booked an utter judge that did have a kitchen open yet with two weeks notice and not offering to refund us we stayed. It was a totally different experience than we had the last time we stayed there and it was NOT a good one. They locked all
Doors except by the back door by the kitchen. The car wasn’t even open and we couldn’t wKk out of our room to enjoy the front seating area at night as the front door was locked at 6 pm. WOW… don’t bother staying here , go elsewhere as this place has gone way down hill and staff are not accommodating and act like they’re doing us a favor just by being there.
Never again … if you want to charge these rates ( one night out if there was discounted 20%- gee don’t go out if your way) egghead bring it back to what it was before the new owners took over .
Poor service , bbq was not good and staff couldn’t wait to leave and lock everything up
Bad service , bad customer service and bait n switch with the restaurant and bar not being open doesn’t set well … the utter guests who booked 5 rooms were really complaining to us too … get a grip and start providing what we are paying for. If you wanted to be off during the fourth if July then Close…. Don’t take away the entire experience we paid for and act like you did a good job ..
Do not stay at this lodge … find one who stands by what they offer and not change it two weeks before your trip !! Not cool people

Hi Mr. Clark- We are truly sorry that your experience at the Lodge did not live up to memory. And again, we are sorry that our normal restaurant closure days of Sunday and Monday fell during your 3 night stay, but more so that the hours of operation were not communicated to you at your time of booking. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, we appreciate all guest feedback and each opportunity we have to learn and grown as a leading service and hospitality destination. sincerely, Gallatin River Lodge

My wife, Suzanne, my son, Cecil, and I want to thank the staff at Gallatin River Lodge for an outstanding vacation. The Lodge is the epitome of beauty, warmth and peace.
The Gallatin River Lodge has an amazing staff. Rikki does an incredible job as the general manager. She is a confluence of intelligence, integrity, and compassion. Her assistant Kerry defines kindness and concern for the guests. Rikki and Kerry are the quintessential team in hospitality; always available… and always nice. Rikki and Kerry are sincerely and deeply committed to make the guests at the Gallatin River Lodge have the best vacation possible.
Rikki can teach the Ritz-Carlton on how to deliver the highest level of service and hospitality to their guests. Her staff is simply amazing. We like to recognize the following outstanding people of Rikki’s staff: Andy, Lisa, Ryan, Debra, Matt and Dan. Sorry for forgetting the remaining names of Rikki’s staff.
Ryan is an inimitable chef.; he is an accomplished chef that prepared some of the best meals we have ever experienced. Ryan is extremely available, accommodating and nice. The meals are simply outstanding.
He is has an excellent staff with Dan and Matt. DeBe prepares delicious homemade breakfasts. Her deserts are phenomenal; her huckleberry cobbler is to die for.
Thank you for a vacation of a lifetime.

We had one night in Bozeman on our honeymoon and wanted a nice “Montana experience” outside a city atmosphere. The Gallatin River lodge was the perfect place to stay! From arrival to departure the staff was welcoming and offered above and beyond normal hotel service. Keith was friendly, informative and added value to our stay at the hotel and in the area.
The food at the lodge was so incredible. The cheese plate was delicious and the entrees had fantastic flavor. It has to be one of the best dinner restaurants around. Breakfast was on the house and also delicious.
Our room was one of our favorites on the trip and had two walks of windows so we could enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We will definitely come back next time we are in Montana!

Johnny, our apologies for the lateness in replying, as we were just notified of your question. The Trout Lodge rooms are very quiet, as they are located in a new building away from the common areas of the Lodge. That being said, the entire property is fairly quiet, especially as many of our guests are respectful and turn in at a relatively early time each evening. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help. Feel free to reach out to us directly on our website or email or call us 406-388-0148. We hope to see you soon.
Kind regards,
PJ Wirchansky
