Upon arrival we were greeted by our hosts Thomas and Charlene. We stayed for three nights in the Western room. The room was beautiful, clean and above the area where the wolves live.
First, about the room-comfy bed with the most amazing softest sheets. Little wolf details decorated the room. The bathroom was roomy and had great water pressure along with a jetted tub.
Continental breakfast consisted of many options and the coffee was spot on.
There is so much to do within the house, large selection of books with cozy places to read. Pool table, movies on projection screen, an old school arcade game…..you could literally stay here all day!

Now about the WOLVES…..I loved hearing them howl in the morning. We slept with our window cracked for full effect! The room had binoculars so you could sit at the window and watch them roam and play. There are several decks on main floor overlooking the wolf area too. Sipping coffee eating breakfast and watching wolves (don’t get much better than that)
The basement area has windows at ground level so you can view the wolves. I got a face to face pic with one ♥️
This was one of the best BB we have stayed at!!! Price was great! Hosts were great! Wolves were great!!
Highly recommended

The first comment from all of my western NY wildlife watchers was "this is top shelf." Our environmental non-for-profit organization takes tours to Yellowstone in December to see the park in all its winter glory. Since we fly into and out of Bozeman, our last stay is at Howler's. With that said, this year's group had never stayed there so it was a first time experience for them all. Upon driving up the access drive, I could hear the comments coming from our guests: "Wow, this is beautiful!" "Unbelievable!" "Unparalleled scenery." Once we checked in, we were given a tour to choose our rooms. They were beautifully furnished and complete with amenities such as wifi, charging ports, and ample lighting and fixtures. The rooms (we stayed in the entire house) were exceptionally clean and tastefully furnished. Regardless of which room you stayed in, you were treated to a Montana "Big Sky" view. Thomas and Charlene are consummate hosts and their meticulous care for the house as well as the grounds was evident. We watched as the wolves were fed and thrilled in their frequent howling. The house's lowest level was perfect for our group gatherings-a pool table and exercise machines rounded off the comfort and livability of the area. This is not the first time we have stayed at Howler's and it will not be the last. They receive my highest recommendation. Joseph C. Allen, Earth Spirit Excursions, Orchard Park, NY

My wife and I arrived on New Years Eve and planned for a short stay before an extended visit to Yellowstone. The Howlers Inn ended up being the highlight of our trip.

The rooms were extremely comfortable and the facilities were wonderful - more than we had time to enjoy. Charlene and Thomas are gracious and generous hosts - our conversations with them made the visit extremely special. We will return next year.

The WOLVES themselves, however, were the undeniable highlight of our visit. We had never seen a wolf up close before and when we first arrived we could not tell the 5 pack members apart. By the time we left, we knew each of them intimately and had become familiar with their unique behaviors and personalities:

Kiowa - the energetic, anxious, warrior lady with the gray coat - always bouncing and jumping and pacing. She DOES NOT like Shasta.

Raven - the sweet and shy black male who loves to cuddle - his yellow eyes are so expressive that he looks like a human wearing a wolf mask. Kiowa is his best friend.

Shiloh - the friendly and outgoing gray boy. He is very handsome and loves people. He is the best howler. Classic masculine gray wolf good looks and charm. He loves all the other pack members.

Koa - the alpha male with the white coat. He lost his tail in a fight long ago. He is big and bulky, his shoulders are huge. He is a bit of a bully to everyone else but Shasta. He sometimes takes food from Shiloh and Raven. He loooooves Shasta and rolls on his belly for her.

Shasta - the queen, the alpha female, the tundra wolf with long slender legs, black coloration and glowing orange eyes. She is Koa’s mate. She is a grand old lady and the only tundra wolf in the pack. The others are all timber wolves. Shasta is shy and regal. She almost never approaches humans. She dislikes Kiowa but is not aggressive toward her.

I could write a whole essay about this place but you should just experience it for yourself. The inn is about a 45 mins drive from the Bozeman airport - if you include a coffee break. You can get to Yellowstone in a bit over an hour. The inn costs less than most local hotels and there are ski facilities with 20 minutes drive.

It's hard to express how much I enjoyed our stay at Howlers Inn! From the minute you drive up, you are instantly relaxed. The inn is located about halfway between Bozeman and Livingston and off the beaten path. Upon arrival, Nate was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the facilities, which included a large kitchen, living room, basement (with a projection TV and many DVDs to choose from) and decks from which you can watch the wolves. Our room faced the wolf enclosure and of course the mountains in the backdrop. The rooms were comfortable and had a refrigerator, air conditioner, fan, places to charge phones etc and a TV. Of course, the biggest attraction for me were the wolves! They are just a joy to watch (which I did for hours). Watching them interact, play, eat, and howl was very special. Their enclosure is large, and they do make use of the space, but they spend a fair bit of time up close to the house (their water is there) and seem to enjoy the attention they get from the guests. One recommendation - if you want dinner, you will need to drive 15-20 minutes to either Livingston or Bozeman. If you are already tired of driving (as we were from visiting Yellowstone one day), consider picking up dinner before you make the drive to the Inn. There are comfortable places to enjoy your meal while you watch the wolves. I won't say it was a once in a lifetime experience, because I WILL BE BACK!

My family just returned home from an enchanting 2 night stay at Howlers Inn. Howlers Inn offered a magical and extended opportunity for us to observe the wonder of wolf interactions. We were serenaded to sleep with a chorus of howling and awoke to lounge on the deck with coffee while watching the 5 resident wolves play. The observation deck afforded a safe, yet unobstructed view of the wolves and we came home with priceless memories and beautiful pictures to help savor the experience.
The Inn provided a charming balance of rustic features and modern convenience, and it was immaculately maintained by hosts Charlene and Thomas. Howlers Inn offers a serene setting near the Bridger Mountains, in close proximity to both gorgeous hiking trails and Bozeman restaurants and shops. It was the perfect ending to our Montana adventure and I would strongly recommend Howlers Inn to any wildlife enthusiasts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Howlers Inn with Charlene, Tom, and their son, Nate. Our room was comfortable and very clean and the view was lovely. The continental breakfast included a wide variety of healthy and delicious options. There are many areas to relax and enjoy your Howlers Inn experience, an enormous living room ares with lots of books, a little shop, and many decks.

Its crowning glory is, of course, the wolves. Not wolves to be afraid of but rescued wolves enjoying a very large fenced natural environment, living their lives in safety and comfort. You can watch the wolves from your bedroom windows, from the breakfast table and from the decks. You can watch them bask in the sun, wrestle, eat and wander around their terrain of grass, rocks and trees. You can even walk around their fenced enclosure for a closer view. And you can hear them howling from anywhere. It's an experience not to be missed!!!

After spending a week transversing Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in search of wildlife we ended our trip with 2 days at Howler’s Inn B&B Wolf Sanctuary. While the parks are plentiful with wildlife we never saw any of the parks elusive wolves.

That was soon to change upon arrival at Howlers Inn. A friendly welcome and introduction by Charlene to the wolves and property. We stayed in the Western Room which overlooked a beautiful valley with snow capped mountains and the wolves enclosure. The large room beautifully decorated in a western style and complemented with pictures of the wolves. A very comfortable bed and large bathroom with a jetted tub. While in our room we found ourselves continually at the window watching the wolves and the beautiful valley as the sun rose and set while being serenaded with the howling sound of the wolves. We had full access to the house which included a comfortable living room, game room and breakfast area fully equipped with everything you could want.

Watching the five wolves was the highlight of the stay. You can relax on a balcony overlooking the enclosures as these incredible creatures interact. We felt blessed to have this once in a lifetime opportunity to observe the wolves acting as a pack led by the alpha wolf. Thomas also shared the opportunity to invite us to watch them eat. It was during this event where we observed the vicious wildness these creatures can be noted for.

Thomas and Charlene were the perfect hosts during our stay. The breakfast was more than you could ask for and the Inn so relaxing that we canceled our daily plans and just stayed at the Inn and enjoyed the wonderful ambience Howlers Inn offers.

We give it a full 5 stars, 10 out of 10 review and a must stay experience.

Linda and Jonas Williams

Beautiful B & B - breakfasts were amazing, the room we stayed in was gorgeous, the view from the window was wonderful and the wolves were interesting-to watch. There are only 3 rooms so you have a homey feel but it was built as a B & B so it’s well laid out with nice common areas and even a projector screen TV.

Bring good slippers since you remove your shoes at the door and the hot tub is only available during ski season.

We highly recommend it.

We were absolutely enchanted by our stay at the Howler's Inn. We were on a waiting list, and we were so glad that a cancellation happened - it was our gain and their loss. The room was spotless and very quiet. To experience the wolves in this unique setting - amazing. The continental breakfast was thoughtfully set out with all the condiments and extras conveniently at hand. Taking a cup of coffee out on the deck the 'commune' with the wolves was a once in a lifetime experience. Tom and Charlene have thought of everything. We will be back.

The Howlers Inn is a unique experience that should not be missed . How often do you hear wolves howling ? We heard them at 6:30 pm , 1:30 am , 6 am and 7 am. I look forward to returning. Each howling lasted about one minute . It’s a one of a kind experience . After check in , you are free to come and go on the property so if you want to dine in Bozeman or the surrounding areas that’s no problem . There is no TV service which was fine with us because we came to see and hear the wolves . Shoes off except in the entryway and kitchen . The carpets were spotless and the room was very clean . Breakfast was continental and the coffee was very good .
