Detailed Reviews
Great place to stay. The location was in downtown near a number of other hotels so meeting other family members for a wedding was easy. Rooms were large and clean. The pool was well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The hotel gave a breakfast coupon for Stellas (just a 3 second walk) which covered the cost of a great breakfast. Locals come to Stellas for breakfast and lunch. Reasonably priced for late spring/summer season.

The hotel was quite ok for the one night I was staying there. What's good is that the parking places are under the roof and you don't get wet from the car to the room. They don't have breakfast, but you get a voucher for the neighboring restaurant, where you can select between a handful of combinations. This is not how I like my breakfast when on the road. I'd prefer to combine the stuff I eat by myself which is usually the case at other hotels of that brand.

Clocktower Inn was great.
1. It was close to downtown, we walked to a choice of multiple restaurants. These restaurants all coordinated with Clocktower Inn to offer 10% discount.
2. Clean, spacious and quiet.
3. The shower was great. It had pressure and the shower head was fixed great (no squatting to get the top of my head wet)!
4. Free breakfast in the famous Stella's restaurant.
5. Free parking.
I will definitely stay here again.

I love staying at the Clocktower for business. They make you feel like family. Breakfast at Stella’s is a great benefit too! Rooms are always clean and I think the beds are comfortable. There is garbage pickup about 6:30 am and some rooms you can hear the truck so if you’re not an early riser make sure you request a poolside room.

This is maybe worth $116 a night at best. Certainly not $250+ for the king suite.
Our room wasn’t properly cleaned, with a washcloth from the previous guest still hanging over the shower curtain.
We also had quite a few ants in our room
And we didn’t have pillows for the sofa bed despite me putting on the booking that we would need sofa bed linens (there were none when we checked in but the young male quickly brought us sheets and a blanket) and despite me requesting them a number of times from the staff - who told us they simply didn’t have any and there was nothing they could do. Absolutely insane to not have enough pillows for the booked rooms at a hotel and to not empower your employees enough to have them focus on finding solutions instead of raising their voices (the older woman who took over the phone from the young man) and then just suggest (knowing all the above mentioned issues) at 8:30pm that we just check out and find another hotel - while we have small children who were in bed trying to sleep already.
Absolutely horrible.
Delicious breakfast next door at Stella’s

Response from Blake Wahrlich, General Manager at Best Western Plus Clocktower Inn

On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. First let me apologize for the housekeeping issues. I am both disappointed in our housekeeper and the inspector who graded the room and cleared it for renting. Obviously with the washcloth on the shower curtain and the ants the room should have been more thoroughly examined and the issues should have been addressed prior to renting the room, it simply should not have been there, and the pests should have also been treated. I will be spending time checking up on our inspectors more to hold them accountable and prevent these issues. Secondly, I have to apologize for our front desk staff. Not only did they give you inexcusably poor customer service, but they were also wrong with what they told you. They had at least 2 options they could have used to help you, that is what I am most disappointed in them for. The service you received is not what we are known for and thank you again for bringing this to my attention. Sincerely, ClockTower Management

My trip was required to bring an Aunt to the Billings Clinic for surgery. This hotel was nearby and had good reviews, so I booked the trip last minute. Additional nights required would be dependent on how her surgery went. I booked through a third party company for two nights. The total of my first two nights cost me $360.88. I needed to stay an additional night and booked directly through the hotel for my same room. This single additional night booked through the hotel was an additional $212.82. That's a ridiculous change. I still have two other charges pending on my credit card in the amounts of $50 (assuming deposit) and $175.99. Given my experiences already, I am hoping these do not become another issue down the road.
I was woken up in the middle of the night for an emergent room change re: a supposed broken pipe in my room that was causing issues to the room below me. My first room was rented out the same night, so I have a hard time believing it was so urgent I needed to be woken up in the middle of the night to pack my things and change rooms.
In my second room, the day I went to go visit my aunt in the hospital I put up the Do Not Disturb placard on my door. When I returned later that evening, hotel staff had been in my room. I know this is the case because my bed was made, towels were picked up off the floor, and my toilet seat left up. I did not appreciate this intrusion.
Overall, if I ever have to return to Billings, I will gladly spend my money elsewhere.

Response from Blake Wahrlich, General Manager at Best Western Plus Clocktower Inn

Thank you for your review and as I expressed in a previous response I truly am sorry for the issues you encountered. With regards to the rate you originally booked an advance purchase non-refundable rate a week or two prior to arrival thus receiving not only a cheaper rate but also a discounted rate as our rates are based on occupancy. When you booked the additional night it was at 7 pm the night before the new reservation when we were almost full hence the higher rate. As for the issue with the room we got a call from a guest who had water flowing from their ceiling as a result of an issue from your room which is why we had to contact you and ask you to switch rooms. I can see that the room switch occurred at 9:55 pm and moved 2 rooms away so we could block the room and shut off the water. What ended up occurring is water reached the overflow drain which had failed allowing water to flow around the seal and drain below so we were able to pull the vanity out to access the back of the tub and address the issue. Lastly, with regards to the DND it looks like because you had two separate reservations your room didn't show up as a stayover but rather a checkout which is why they entered the room though I am still looking into if there were any notes on what occurred after they entered the room and saw luggage still in the room. As I mentioned in my previous email I do apologize for the evening (10 pm) intrusion and having to ask you to move rooms which is why we refunded you that night's stay earlier today.

Throughout the years I have stayed at the Clocktower Inn several times. The experience has always been great. The rooms are fairly priced with everything you need and are comfortable and quiet. Breakfast at Stellla's never disappoints, it's the best fringe benefit of staying at the Clocktower by far. Combined with it's prime location downtown, it's hard to beat the value per dollar at the Clocktower.

The front desk person who checked us in was amazing and helped us upgrade after some confusion. She was great! Stella’s is amazing food! Also, it was great that we were able to ask for specific items to be cleaned while we were out. Example we were able to have our towels refreshed and garbages emptied instead of full service.

Friendly service and a clean comfortable room made this a great stay for the two of us and our dogs. This hotel has an excellent location with so many great restaurants nearby (we loved Jake’s Downtown), and we saved 10% with our room key. The complimentary breakfast from Stella’s was delicious as well. I highly recommend this hotel for comfortable and well-located accommodation.
