I've been coming here almost 20 years so I don't easily type this review. Used to be essentially perfect. We had issue after issue and were treated in the end with an attitude of indifference vs. concern about the impacts which causes me to take the time to write this. When checking in, one of the rooms I specifically requested and was assured of when reserved had been given to someone else. The TV wasn't set correctly so didn't work. Then the fireplace didn't work in one of the rooms. It was great that those two items were handled quickly but the issues just continued. The fireplace that was now able to be turned on, would not turn off. Finally had to just remove the batteries to stop it. In the second room the bedroom TV didn't work and the fireplace continually went out. Both rooms were extremely hot from all the other room thermostats that would not turn off requiring opening the door to tolerate how hot it was. Of course that is then a safety issue but impossible to sleep in the heat. Of the five times calling the front desk the phone was answered only once. After then walking to the front desk to report, the room key stopped working so back again. Door latches to enter are so sticky it takes a number of times and angle for them to open. The maintenance issues I'm describing were non-existent under prior ownership. Ultimately I requested compensation for all this and was advised it wasn't possible to reach the owners as they were running errands. I asked for a callback which never happened. Even if the maintenance issues get the attention they need, the disregard for the customer will keep me from going back. Particularly this customer that has been there many times and recommended it to so many.…
We only stayed here for a night on our national parks tour but really enjoyed it. The room was so comfortable and little touches like the fireplace help to make it so. We used the pool and hot tub - what a nice view from both! And the more casual restaurant attached to the hotel (Riley’s) had great food. Everyone at the hotel was very welcoming, from the front desk who let us check in a little early to a staff member who sat with us and told us all the points of interest around the area. Wish we had been able to spend more nights here!
Stayed in the single story bungalow near the hot tubs & pool for 10 days & highly recommend this beautiful place! The staff, cleaning- breakfast & front desk - were so courteous, professional & friendly that we can’t wait to come back! Beautiful views, quiet, clean, immaculate grounds & even a cornhole game & putting green! Y’all can’t go wrong staying here in God’s Country & at Mountain Lake Lodge!
Although this is an unpretentious property, it had everything we needed. The accomodations were spacious and clean; a living room, small kitchen area with sink, microwave, refrigerator, bedroom and bath, and a front porch. Staff was very friendly. Schafer's restaurant on property (see separate review) was fantastic. Location was great. Even though the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired in terms of nutrition, I still give it 5 stars because everything else was just perfect.
Nice room layout with fireplace and comfortable firm queen bed, balcony with lake view, Courtyard area with putting green maintained in immaculate shape. Infinity pool and hot tubs maintained in pristine condition. Washer and dryer available for guests. Small kitchenette had the cabinet with plates and silverware zip tied due to covid restrictions.
We really enjoyed staying here and will certainly stay here again if we return to the area. You are very close to the lake and the view is beautiful and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
We stayed at the Mountain Lake Lodge (MLL) on a prior occasion back in 2018 and were impessed by both the spaciousness of the room and the quality of service provided by the employees. We decided to stay a few days this year while visiting friends in and near Big Fork. Because of our previous experience, we automatically booked our room with MLL. Upon our arrival, as I was checking in a lady approached the desk and interrupted my check in. Rather than being rude and telling her to wait until we were finished, I waited. I was given our room keys and left. The next morning I put the "Please make up our room" sign on the door We returned 6 hours later and the tag was still on the door. We called the front desk and we were told that we had to call the front desk before 10 am to get the room cleaned. I was not told this at the time of check in and there was nothing in the room that explained this. We also noticed piles of trash at the bottom of the stairs that had been left by either residents or housekeeping or both and not picked up by the lodge. The third disappointment was the laundry room. One washer and two dryers. No worries, except one of the dryers did not work. We thought we had done something wrong. After waiting 50 minutes only to find wet clothes in the top dryer, we put in more money and started the dryer again It ran fine but the igniter was faulty so the heat didn't turn on. Once again, the clothes were wet. Fortunately, the bottom dryer worked. We told one of the housekeeper supervisors, Irene, who advised us to go to the front desk to get a $2.50 refund. Once my husband approached the desk, she said abruptly, "you're the quarter guy". It is interesting that there is an envelope in the room to tip the housekeeper. We left nothing. As we checked out, we asked to see the manager to adjust a bill after paying $600 for two days with no towel replacements, coffee or waste basket removal. The gal at the front desk said she did not have the authority to adjust the bill, but as soon as the manager came in, she would call us. Well that never happened either. We called later and spoke to Rachel, who said she had left a message for the manager and she would call us. That never happened. Called the next day and was told the manager has limited hours. Really, a lodge of this nature and no manager or supervisor. Even when off-site, most of us in supervisory/managerial positions can be easily reached by email or a cell phone. When I told her about the trash, I was told housekeeper had already left before the residents put out their trash. Totally wrong answer so apparently no one is responsible for anything on the grounds or inside for that matter. Was also told that Laura the lady who checked us in told the desk that she had in fact advised me of the housekeeping rule when she was confronted with our complaint. That is a total lie which is why I will never stay there again.…
Room (305) had a nice view of the lake. Laundry room on site was a nice treat - especially after arriving here from out Yellowstone leg of vacation. Staff was friendly - Michelle Marie greeted all guests with a big smile. She was helping in giving us local hiking trails. Highly recommend if looking for a place to stay close (30-45 mins) from Glacier National Park.
Me, my husband and our 1 year old stayed here for 5 days and it was much needed relaxation. It’s not huge so everything is right outside your door. The most friendly people work there and everyone we met at the pool was so nice. I wish we could I’ve stayed another week. The pool and hot tub was awesome and our one year old learned how to really love swimming there. If you need a place to relax, this is it. They will take care of you. We also took a boat shuttle out to Wild Horse Island and hiked around the whole thing what a cool experience to see the wild horses. We will be back!
Our stay was very enjoyable. The property sells itself. We loved the people who cared for us. From Kim up front, who recommended dinner at the lodge. Dinner was fantastic made even better by the service and suggestions from Jonathon and Jay. Thanks to Duane who took the time to share the best driving route to our next destination. Our room was spacious and clean. Bedroom was cozy with great views. Highly recommended.
