We stayed in room number 12 which was nice and big - it had a separate bedroom, bathroom and living room area. The free breakfast was excellent. Easy to control temperature of our room. Easy to park. Nice historic hotel. Free wifi. We're glad we paid more for a room with ensuite, as some rooms don't have their own bathrooms,... More

We arrived in mid-afternoon, after the little restaurant had already closed at 2 P.M. and before the grand restaurant opened at 5 P.M. The staff was friendly, explaining the restaurant offerings to us. We returned to eat there late in the afternoon. The food was scrumptious, the dining room was like something from the early or mid-1900's.

A wonderful historic hotel. We stayed in room 11 which was one of the smaller ones, but still had it's own private bath. The rooms are nice and clean. We had a before dinner drink in the bar and all of the servers were very friendly. We then had dinner in the restaurant. They were busy, but we were waited... More

This is actually more of a bed & breakfast than a hotel. We stayed in one of the larger rooms (Room #8, the one with the 2nd floor corner window you see in the pictures). Friendly people, comfortable room. Downtown Big Timber essentially rolls up its sidewalks at night, so everything is quiet once the saloon downstairs closes. Not all... More

We stayed here on our way back from our honeymoon in Glacier. Was a wonderful, historic hotel. The rooms were nice, although the one we were in was a little small but still very nice. Good bed also, from someone with back problems that is a good thing.

We were passing through the area on a work trip and stopped for lunch. Very good food and service! The menu had a wide variety. I had the egg rolls and fried rice, very good. It is a little on the pricey side.

This was a great yet unexpected find as we were driving along I-90 and needed a place for the night. We saw the sign on the expressway and decided to give it a chance. What a great stay! Sure beats the big box hotels. The hotel is very clean, very unique and welcoming. Don't be turned away by the shared... More

We stayed 1 night while visiting relatives in the area before Christmas and were totally impressed! We had heard about the "Grand Old Hotel" and it's true - it takes you back in time to the old days of the West with its historic charm, beautiful woodwork and architecture. We stayed in a newly renovated room (# 12), a 3-room... More

The Grand Hotel is a real jewel of the highway. Located in downtown Big Timber, a couple of miles off I-90, a stay here is a real break from highway travel. The building is a National Register of Historic Places property, and the interior of the building reflects the bygone era in which it was built. There is no elevator... More

I always stay at The Grand when visiting Big Timber. I always enjoy its quiet, friendly atmosphere and its clean, simple, comfortable rooms. The cooked breakfast that comes with the room is always excellent, and the coffee is good, too. Wi-fi connections are better than in the past, and the rooms have recently been freshened up.
