you will see some harsh reviews - so maybe I am more forgiving. The Huntley is pretty much the same as it always has been since the 1980s (and likely since it was built in the 1970s). Some people appreciate the nostalgia and some don't. I tend to appreciate the way things were. The rooms are not silent at night... More

I've stayed here several times since the 1970s. I have now stayed for my last time. Rooms are dated. Sofa is old. Carpet is old. Windows are stained. Window shades are those plastic drapes with several gaps where there are missing pieces. Feels like a $50 room at some mom and pop motel. Service at dining was poor. At $500+/night... More

We arrived at the Huntley building for a three day stay and entered our nice 3rd floor room. It was about 100 degrees inside, with the sun blasting in. Looking everywhere for the air conditioning controls, we couldn't find it, so we called the front desk. Oh, they said, the Huntley has no air conditioning. Huh?!?!? A modern, expensive hotel... We stayed at Huntley Lodge this past week for 3 nights to attend a wedding. We found the setting in Big Sky Resort to be great, and the lobby of the lodge was very nice. The people working at the lodge were all friendly, helpful and seemed to really enjoy living and working in Big Sky. We were a little... More

We were here for a conference. This hotel is relatively dog friendly. We were placed in first floor room near an exit. All of the decor is outdated, but our dog friendly room also had very old carpeting. It looked like carpet in other rooms had been replaced. Dogs are limited to a rather small outside area, and are not... More

The Huntley Lodge is located right on the slopes of Big Sky in front of Lone Mountain. The location is very good, easy access to chairs. The lodge itself is quite old one of the first hotels in Big Sky. The rooms are outdated, small bathrooms, small shower, no air conditioning. Beds were hard. Bedding was OK. Limited views. Recent trip to MT included a stay at the historic Huntley Lodge. The older section is dated and your stay includes a pair of complimentary earplugs to facilitate sleep. Views are spectacular; staff very friendly and accommodating. No AC in older section. Good wifi. Rooms were very clean. Small grocery and bar in adjacent Mountain Mall. However, the hotel hallways... After 15-16 years of visiting, we were offered via email a 4th day for every 3, so we opted for an 8-day stay. They would not honor the email they'd sent out and no one ever seems employed there longer than a year, so we felt very cheated and haven't been back.

Crowds were minimal for an early summer business meeting. Some service was excellent from regulars, but there were many summer workers just getting used to routines. The hotel was more than adequate. Rooms were good sized and relatively clean and maintained, but somewhat rustic decor that shows signs of winter use. Location was good for access to lifts or local... More

We stayed here five nights at the end of the ski season. Be aware that if you come for the last week of the season, this hotel turns into a college dorm. Super loud parties that don't stop until 5 am, naked people in the hot tub, all sorts of glorious events occur. The rest of the season, it is... More

Conveniently located in the heart of Big Sky's Mountain Village, this three-story hotel was part of the late NBC News broadcaster Chet Huntley's original vision for Big Sky Resort. It is as tasteful as it is convenient: the Explorer Lift is just out the back door. Under the same roof are concierge, dining, shopping, ski storage, meeting rooms, and spa. The Huntley Lodge features Boyne Beds and flat panel televisions. ... more   less
