No longer truly ski-in/out as they've done away with attendants who used to take skis up the hill for customers, something that should be included at the exorbitant price points that have become the standard throughout Big Sky post-pandemic (hard to justify as their "no lift line" claim no longer holds true). Some rooms have Murphy beds, some have mini or full kitchens. There's usually plenty of storage, nice bathrooms (no tubs), gas fireplaces. Large, average-quality breakfast buffet is down the lane @ Chet's in the Huntley.
Comfortable, quiet, fully stocked kitchenette (only thing missing is a oven/stove) and lots of storage. Close to mountain with easy ski in/ski out and ski storage. Laundry room was a plus. Top notch customer service! Front desk, Shandar, was super friendly and we appreciated his assistance with recommendations. We looked forward to seeing his smile every time we returned from skiing. And Jawayne was the BEST housekeeper and so friendly! Will definitely be back.
Excellence in 1) service 2) kindness 3) room quality and comfort and 4) breakfast offering. Steps from the lifts, ski in and get right to the outdoor hot tub to close out a wonderful day on the mountain. Cannot recommend any higher, and I have stayed around the world.
We stayed in a 3 BR condo at Village Center right on the slopes with a fantastic view of Lone Mtn. from our patio window. From the minute you step out of the bus you are met with Montana hospitality with guys in cowboy hats ready to assist in any way they can. The lodging couldn't be any more convenient to the slopes as it is just steps away from Ramcharger and Swift Current chairs. Easy to ski back for lunch. The breakfast bar is suburb and a good value. And of course, the skiing is varied and extensive. It continues to be the favorite destination for our guys ski trip and we've skied many place out West. Housekeeping staff members Jenelle & Eva were outstanding and went way beyond their duties on January 23rd when I was ill in my room. They came to make up the room, but quickly became my doctor and nurse, running to the store to purchase 2 cans of chicken noodle soup, mint tea, and Gatorade from their own money. Then they quietly and quickly made up the room and let me be. They were very concerned for me and came back to check on me later that afternoon. Such attention to quest satisfaction and well being is priceless, very much appreciated, and will always be remembered. The Skyline shuttle into Big Sky was also very convenient and necessary since the restaurant selection at Village Center is limited especially with the closing of Andiamo's Italian Grille. It was a free shuttle to and from Big Sky Town Centerwhich eliminates the need for a rental car.…
We had a most excellent 6 night stay. We arrived late - i.e. in the dark. When we woke up the next morning and opened the curtains, there was Lone Mountain staring us in face lit up by the morning sun. The studio apartment was superb and fully appointed. The hotel is ski in/ ski out and right next to a couple of main lifts. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We highly recommend this place.
All of the staff was amazing. Tim P., parking supervisor, went above and beyond to assist us with parking at the resort. We stayed at the Village Center and I would highly recommend this lodge. Breakfast, which was included, was served in the Huntley and was generous and tasty. My only recommendation would be to have shops, chair lifts, open later. Everything seemed to close at 5:00.
We stayed here for several days. The service was excellent and beautiful vistas surround you in this pristine area. We loved it and highly recommend it. Great place to relax, unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty.
We are staying in a condo in the Village Center and I have to say the front desk folks were the nicest, most helpful folks that we have had on our 3 week road trip. We would like to especially thank Jonathan I., who provided great information about the area and always was engaging and pleasant when we were in and out of the lobby, he has really made the stay enjoyable.
The front desk crew was amazing at answering our questions and finding things to do with our kids!! John B was especially helpful directing us around the hotel and resort! Would visit again! Maybe in the winter next time.
So as the title states, we had some very good experiences at Village Center, but for what we paid for a 1 bedroom suite, expected a bit more. I'll start with the "needs improvement". 1 - The rooms and property in general is very dated. The furniture in our room looked like someone took an ax to it in places. 2 - The WORST part of our stay were the beds. Oh my goodness. The worst beds we have slept in and we travel frequently. My husband couldn't sleep through the night. His body hurt that bad from the mattress and pillows. I saw some mention of this in other reviews and - trust me - it's BAD. Linens are also awful. Very scratchy. 3 - The thermostat kept going on and off by itself. As in - we'd turn the unit OFF and it would come back on without us touching it. Conversely sometimes we'd want it on and it wouldn't cycle on. 4 - Basic conveniences were lacking. The unit was a 2 batrhoom but there was no tub.. We had a child with us and she prefers a bath - and it's just generally easier to help her in the tub. Also in the shower stalls there was no shaving ledge. There was also no safe in the room which is an issue b/c we travel with jewelry, passports, etc. There was nowhere to safely stow these. 5 - Housekeeping was kind of spotty. We had to BEG daily for toilet paper. Sometimes they would take dirty towels and not leave clean ones. And I swear the toilet paper restock was being taken from the housekeepers pay. We'd have to call down every day to ask for TP and they would bring ONE ROLL. We found several things in our room that were left by previous residents. It kind of grossed us out as it was clear the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned between stays. I'll leave out the details but ...... ick. So it's just small things like this that kind of add up. The hotel has a premium price so you'd expect basic conveniences and comfort items. Now on to the good. The staff at this place is amazing. They are really friendly (even when you are pestering them for toilet paper). They always give you a friendly greeting when you return in the evening and wish you a great day when you head out each morning. Everyone we encountered was really amazing. So kudos for a super friendly staff. The location was great, especially if you like to ski (we were there in summer and don't ski but can see how this would be a huge plus). There were tons of activities at the resort - hiking, biking, zip lining, archery, etc. We did several tours through their Base Camp and had a great time with most. The exception was the Creature X escape room (total waste of money). Chet's restaurant in the Huntley building was very good. We enjoyed lunch there and went for the free breakfast daily. The free breakfast was amazing. You order off a menu - it's not continental or a cheap buffet. It was a great start to our day. The shops and amenities nearby are wonderful. We got some great souvenirs and there were plenty of food options. Try a Yeti Dog with huckleberry ice cream! Overall, we were pleased with the Big Sky Resort but if we returned to the area, we might try to stay in another one of the buildings or one of the property's condos based on the 'needs improvement' notes above.…
