After driving 700 miles for the day, my husband and I, fatigued and road weary, stopped at the Walnut Street Inn. It was just as described both on their website, on the phone with Gary and on Tripadvisor.....charming, clean, relaxing, with a very reasonable rate. Breakfast was delicious and enjoyable served in the dining room. Although the Inn was fun... More

We stayed at the Walnut Street Inn for two nights while visiting the area. It was very accommodating and comfortable. The front porch swing was a favorite place to spend time, as was the glider on the back porch. They fix a really nice breakfast too. We'll stay again.

We were booked in here as part of a road trip along Route 66. We were welcomed by Gary and shown to a luxurious room with a 4 poster bed and jacuzzi decorated with vintage memorabilia- very tastefully done! Free cold drinks in the fridge! Lovely quiet neighbourhood with a guided walk around the street available. Delicious breakfast of homemade... More

The 'Walnut Street Inn' is a wonderful bed and breakfast, a wonderful place to stay, relax and enjoy! The rooms are comfortably furnished with taste. The breakfast is fresh cooked and dispenses strengh and energy for the entire day. Perfect service, very helpful host! Great romantic place!

This hotel looked interesting in the blurb......and it didn't disappoint. In fact, it exceeded our expectations in that the whole place was enchanting. The owner/host was so welcoming, offering warm homemade cookies and tea as we arrived and giving us a brief history of this fabulous house. Our room was at one stage the house library, so a trompe l'oeil... More

We found the inn to be very cozy, warm and welcoming. Gary and his staff were great hosts during our overnight stay. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and filling. We plan to visit them again in the future.

Although I was needing to be in Springfield for business I also wanted to stay somewhere interesting and could not have picked a better place. The historic house is full of character and very nicely set up. My room (McCann) was excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent but I really want to say how hospitable... More

Beautiful home and the staff is very friendly. Great location for exploring the university area. We stayed in the Wilder Room, very nice. The only thing that was difficult was that the bed was pushed against the wall so one occupant had to crawl in and out. We were disappointed not to be able to participate in the breakfast because... Thank you JC, for your support and feedback. The room that was available to you, the Wilder Room, is our smallest. For that reason, it is also our lowest price to compensate. Many choose the Wilder because of the private, 3rd floor location, the private balcony, and the 6ft long claw-foot tub. Lets try another one for you next time!... More

If you're looking for a romantic getaway, look no further. The room we had was fantastic. A beautiful 4 poster bed, huge jetted tub, fireplace at the flick of a switch, most of the lighting in the bedroom and tub area were on dimmers. Great hosts, and they served a great breakfast. When we asked about an Italian restaurant we... More

Nice old home converted to a B&B. A lot of character and the staff is very friendly but the beds need to be updated, not big or comfortable. We needed a room with two beds so we were in the attic and had to climb narrow stairs to the third floor. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms did have a... More
