Although we live just 35 miles south in Branson, we love staying at the Walnut Street Inn when comin to Springfield for a special night or a concert or show. The convenience to downtown just can't be beat- especially when seeing something at the Juanita K Hall. We've tried about 5 diffferent rooms, and each is unique and special. Breakfast is always tasty- we usually have it delivered to our room, but this last stay we went to the dining room to meet family members, and really enjoyed the service. We appreciate that the inn has treid to add "modern conveniences" into the older homes and we look forward to our next visit!
My husband and I spent one night at the Walnut Street Inn and I can tell you it will not be our last! It's our new favorite place in Springfield. Great location to walk downtown to restaurants and perfect location if attending an event at the JQH Arena or the performing arts center. I was hoping for a ghostly encounter, so we stayed in the Rosen Room......no encounter unfortunately, but still enjoyed the room. The pumpkin pancakes the next morning were truly to die for!!!! Looking forward to going back very soon!!!
We stayed two nights and adored our visit! The orange blossom pancakes were incredible. We felt right at home and Gary made sure everything was perfect. We spent time on the back patio surrounded by the delightful garden.
My first trip to Springfield, on business, found the ideal location to be near it all. MSU, shopping, dining, and a truly surprising museum and aquarium for a little spare time fun. This area is vibrant, walkable, fun and in the middle of it all. The Innkeeper is welcoming and staff very helpful. Breakfast was an unexpected treat, beautifully prepared and served. The large open lobby and dining are full of unique period detail.
Gary and the fabulous team make this bed and breakfast feel like home away from home. We love visiting in the spring and decided to spend our anniversary in Springfield and stayed at Walnut Street Inn. This is a medium sized bed and breakfast, but every guest receives outstanding service. The rooms are clean and "homey" (a good thing). Our room was bright and inviting and just large enough for us to not feel confined. The bed was comfortable and shower was great. But, the star of the show is breakfast. The food is hand crafted and well presented. We always have a great breakfast that holds us through our activities until mid afternoon. The menu is creative and features good food, not just easy food. They are always able to accommodate special dietary requests and they do it graciously with such ease. This is our favorite place in Springfield and we will certainly return for more great visits.…
