Charming, historic and comfortable. Bed was great and the room very clean with great views of downtown. Although just passing through Sedalia on business, we were won over. Some room and bathroom features were not state of the art, but that didn't dim our stay in the least. This is not a cookie cutter hotel. If you appreciate great hospitality... More

Hotel Bothwell is in the heart of Sedalia, with all the charm of the last 100 years. The ambiance is yester-year. Old paintings, old furniture, a return to the good times of the past. Therein lies the appeal--and the problems. While the rooms are very nice, they are also very tight. No counter space in the bath. Old fixtures (like... More

Small but cozy. The tall ceiling and window helps it not feel closed in. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud or grandma's feather bed. (Could use a little more support in middle underneath.) Because it's an hotel built in the 1920's, better construction, the rooms are quiet...no sounds from the neighboring rooms. Room was clean and staff was friendly.

Very accommodating staff, pleasant room, convenient to Missouri Runner train station. Beautiful old hotel in downtown Sedalia. Beds were incredibly soft and the linens were top-notch, making for a wonderful night's sleep. The only breakfast was coffee and muffins, which disappointed us until we tasted the superb muffins!!

Step back in time with a clean nice hotel experience. It felt elegantly charming. Nice friendly front desk. Close to the Katy Trail. Clean. Bed is a bit soft for me. But it's hard to find anything else that I did not find peacefully perfect. I would stay here again.

I had a chance to pick where our family got to stay while in Sedalia. I chose the Hotel Bothwell and our stay was wonderful. We did not want a typical chain hotel. When we walked into the lobby, we stepped back in time. We had a King room that had a bath and a half, the bed was comfortable,... More

I had one of the smaller rooms. It was very clean and well decorated for the era of the building. Daily housekeeping was well done. The room is not actually that small, but it is just the way it is set up, being that it is from another time period, that was not the most convenient or modern. However, the... More

We found this while on a business trip as we are rewards members. This one was a unique hotel, and we really prefer interesting Boutique hotels whenever possible. The price range was quite reasonable. The interior was definitely old and full of character. THe restaurant on site had some decent food that was reasonably priced. Service was great. The front... I really enjoy historic properties and don't mind a lack of modern conveniences when I feel immersed in days gone by. The lobby and common areas of the Hotel Bothwell certainly were impressive. A peek into the small ballroom looked like it would be gorgeous for a wedding rehearsal dinner. My room, however, just felt old and inconvenient. Lots of... More

Very comfortable room with two baths, two couches, plenty of room, view of the courthouse and square. Nicely decorated. Quite even with the view of the square. Ask for a street side room. It isn't something we normally ask for but it was quiet after dark.
