This property is awesome for Romantics and others looking for a peaceful weekend. This Historic Site has been remodeled and brought up to Modern standards but still has the classic look of a luxury hotel from the 1930's. The room was immaculately clean and well-appointed. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The check-in was quick efficient and the clerk was extremely friendly. This property is actually pet friendly, they only charged $25 to have our miniature dachshund with us. We were not able to get the complimentary breakfast because of covid-19 protocols.

We stayed here while riding across Missouri on the Katy Trail. The hotel is old and historic. Rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable. Many Katy Trail riders stay here and the hotel is very accommodating to riders. There is even a bike washing station in the parking lot. We also had a great dinner in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast, however, was very minimal.

This very nice historic hotel is such a surprise in Sedalia. This hotel is beautifully restored with all kinds of interesting architectural details. Original brass elevators, marble steps in the staircase, wonderful tile work in the restaurant. These are just a few of the interesting features.

I think the ballroom is very attractive and if it were not so far away from where I live, I would hold an event there. I can see that it’s a lovely wedding venue, and I am not a fan of generic hotel ballrooms. But this one would not be generic.

Our room was comfortable, really very nice. We stayed in August and the air conditioner was more than adequate. It was quite chilly and we had to turn it down.

This hotel felt like a stay in Europe for the night we were there. Next time we will book two nights and stay a while in Sedalia to see nearby sites.

The restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent.

This hotel caters to bicyclists from the KATY Trail. That is cool. It has a bike washing station outside of the hotel in the parking lot. They allow people to park their bikes in the lobby. I thought that was a nice touch.

My husband and I checked in on Saturday night Oct.1 at 8:30 for a one night stay. Walked in and immediately saw poop on toilet seat and inside rim of the toilet. Shower door was soap scummy and spotty. Someone has been here and it has not yet been cleaned was the vibe! We dropped our bags and went to front desk with this news. The girl said they recently lost their cleaning crew. She was going to call someone. There were no other rooms available. We went into the bar to have a drink. When we returned around 10pm the front desk girl informed us that she had cleaned the mess off of the toilet herself! Obviously this is not her job and obviously our bathroom still remained unclean from the people before us but the poop was off of the toilet. We were coming from a University football game in next town where all the rooms were sold out and we had booked this room because it was all we could find in this town. We spent a cringy night there for a total of $160.27 because we had no choice but I honesty cannot believe in this day in age a hotel would rent a room that Clearly has not been cleaned. I phoned Choice Hotel parent company on Monday morning to inform them that one of their properties was operating this way and they offered me some Choice Points. LOL, no thanks!

The hotel is in the perfect location for a cyclist touring the Katy Trail. It was an easy cycle to it. It is located on the courthouse square close to several dining places. The hotel was very clean and my room beautifully appointed. The bed and bed linens were heavenly. The room was quiet and I was permitted to bring my bike to my room.

My only complaint was their bagged breakfast. I experienced thee on most nights of my week long bicycle tour on the Katy. This hotel's bag breakfast was quite scant with only a Rice Krispie treat and Dole fruit cup and bottle of water. Most other hotels had a more substantial breakfast with a piece of fruit, breakfast bar, maybe a large muffin and choice of breakfast beverage. The hotel appeared to have a nice breakfast room that was closed.

This is our second time to stay at Hotel Bothwell and both times we have been delighted. We found it clean and the people very friendly. Unique decor - modern, yet you feel like you are stepping into the past. Room 320 was the perfect layout for my husband and I, plus our adult son; The layout was 2 bedrooms connected with a short hall. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the shower hot. The staff were quite agreeable to us parking our car in parking lot for a week while we rode the Katy Trail on our bikes. They also let us keep our bikes in the hotel "ballroom" .

We were on the top floor in on of their larger rooms and the noise level from the air condition ducts were unbearable. We had a terrible night of sleeping. On top of that I forgot an item at the hotel and was told to provide a credit card number and a form for them to mail it back to me. I did and after a week still waiting the item to arrive with no answer to my emails. I hope management reads this and takes notice.
Also this hotel is frequently used with bicycle riders on the Katy trail and they don't have a place to store bikes. We were told to take our bicycles to our room. Beware!

If I could give a negative 1000 review I would. First room we checked into light bulbs were brunt out so I went down to the front desk to ask for bulb replacement clerk said we will get someone up to replace them we left to do some business only to come back to find that light bulbs weren’t replaced so once again I went back to the front desk only to find out they haven’t had maintenance personnel in several months so I asked if they had replacement bulb and the answer was no. So they upgraded us to another room. Got to upgraded room which was a room with two bathrooms one was great however my wife walked into the second bathroom only to find a bath towel hanging on the back of the door with what looked like black mold so instead of going back down to the front deck we just tossed the towel out in the hallway. The next night after a long day we decided to have dinner at the hotels restaurant. Ordered two drinks that after waiting a good 20 minutes never received so we cancelled the drink order, ordered appetizers that were cold we they were served sent them as they tasted nasty main course finally came 40 minutes later and they weren’t busy at all. This will be only time I will stay this so called this a gold star winner hotel. NOT

My travel companion and I stayed at Hotel Bothwell a couple of weeks ago while cycling the Katy Trail. It was a nice respite following a windy day of riding. I greatly appreciated being able to take my bike up to my room via elevator, and I used the hotel's floor pump the next morning when my bike tire had a slow leak. We also had dinner in the Ivory Room; the food was good and the wait staff very accommodating.

If you are riding the Katy Trail this is a must-do stay. The hotel is super friendly and accommodating to bicyclists. This is a historic hotel so some of the rooms are smaller than you might be used to at more modern hotels. The stay was comfortable. Last year the breakfast was better (IMO). The local coffee shop was more desirable than the free breakfast this time. We will be back though! The staff is wonderful.
