#1 of 9 B&Bs / Inns in Sainte Genevieve
Travelers' Choice
Originally built in 1882, as the Meyer Hotel, the Main Street Inn B&B has long been considered one of Missouri’s finest bed and breakfast establishments. Having recently undergone an extensive year-long renovation, Proprietors, Susan O’Donnell and Patrick Fahey, along with Innkeeper, Jean Marie Rozier Sellberg, are thrilled to re-open the Main Street Inn B&B and provide a truly wonderful experience. Located in the heart of Sainte Genevieve’s Historic District, and surrounded by beautiful wine country, we are just a short one-hour drive from both St. Louis and Cape Girardeau, five hours from Chicago and just a little over four hours from Nashville. If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway, the Main Street Inn B&B is the perfect destination.

The Main Street Inn B&B is the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in...hands down. The owners spared no expense or attention to detail to make this property a pleasurable experience. Patrick (one of the owners) is very hospitable, and he is very willing to give a tour and explain the history of the property. We stayed in the La Rosa room on the second floor. It was well decorated, spacious, clean, and had amazingly comfortable bed/linens. Breakfast was incredible!! The property is located within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and bars. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. I will definitely return.

We decided to take a last minute getaway to St. Genevieve about an hour out of St. Louis. It was a Sunday night (surprisingly, several of their room were occupied) and we were checked-in to one of the prettiest rooms we've seen at a B&B (It was the first floor Studio Room). It was supplied as if every need was anticipated by the innkeeper and their team. The breakfast was delicious (egg casserole, potato casserole, chocolate chip bread, yogurt with berries, and sausage), and we had a nice conversation with the innkeeper who educated us on the interesting history of the town. There are several restaurants within walking distance, easy parking, and a beautiful historic town with many sites to see.

We had the pleasure of visiting the Main Street B&B on a recent vacation to enjoy the local history and architecture in this beautiful quiet and charming little town. We chose the Studio Room with a private entrance and hot tub. We liked that the room had a very private feel, as they all do within this beautiful place. Easy access within walking distance of shops galore and eateries as well as the local historical buildings which is what prompted our visit and our stay at this beautiful B&B. Patrick was amazing to work with during our stay, full of good humor and professionalism, down to earth and enjoyable to visit and learn from. We enjoyed our stay in this beautifully decorated, turn of the century hotel. As they say "if the walls could talk". Highly recommend a stay with these wonderful people. If you are looking for a quiet get away from "it all" with great attention to detail and amazing customer service, you don't want to miss this place! We will be back.

We spent two nights last weekend at this awesome B&B to celebrate my 60th birthday. We stayed in the room on the 2nd floor with the balcony outside our room and the location and the room were perfect. There is so much more attention to details compared to other B&B's we have stayed at in the past. When the current owners remodeled this inn they tastefully kept the ambiance of an 1880 grand home while updating with top of the line air conditioning (definitely needed for the August heat) as well as great televisions, furnishings, blinds, linens, etc. My husband and I agreed that the bed was the most comfortable we have slept in when staying away from home. Patrick has a most engaging manner and shared some fun and historic interesting stories. As others have said the breakfasts served were fantastic. We met a guest at breakfast who has returned often to have relaxing weekends away from the hectic city life an hour away. That is how restful this inn feels. There are restaurants that are within easy walking distance that we really enjoyed, and of course some great wineries in the area. I highly recommend this inn and we will definitely return!

We stayed there for one night last Saturday, July 25. We were in their smallest room, the Regine, on the third floor. It was well decorated, clean and just big enough for a quiet night after a day of hiking. The owner, Pat, was hospitable and made us feel welcomed. We would visit again. The only downside to the location was the town was almost all closed (ie Dead) at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon. But if quiet is what you are looking for, or you want to relax after travelling from elsewhere, it is great!

Room Tip: Any room looked nice, but we liked being upstairs where there was less traffic and noise.
