I didn't like having to get a tour first because it made check-in very long and there were other people waiting to be checked in. I should've checked ahead of time to know there is no TV (No rooms have TV/cable) no wifi (wifi was advertised and the wifi code was available but the signal too weak to join), no... More

Fantastic place. Extremely nice people very enthusiastic about the history of the hotel and the area. They had lots of advice about the area. I really appreciate how they constantly had food events. They were extremely nice and set up an extension cord so I could recharge my electric car. While the distance is not a problem at all for... More

The owners have brought back a very old hotel. Lots of very old stuff to see and use. The 9' pool table has been used for over 150 years. The 1980s remodel has held up well. We had the Quilt Room. Nice sized third floor room. Only flavored coffee served which was fine with me, but my friend would have... More

Really enjoyed our visit to the Southern Hotel in Ste Genevieve. We were the only guests the first night and it was very quiet. Stayed in the Wysocki room. The breakfast is delicious, and so is the coffee. No tv in our room so we played games and read books. It was very enjoyable. Disappointed in Ste Genevieve overall -... More

Very much enjoyed this step back in time. I could imagine people exiting the riverboats and making their way to this establishment. Delicious breakfast every morning. Clawfoot tub, old bed frames (our frame was purchased for $2 at a flea market and restored.) Many of the pieces have similar stories. The owners, Mike and Cathy, are very friendly, but unobtrusive.... More

The place is gorgeous, really nicely restored. BUT the 5,000 calories breakfast consisting of various configurations of carmel, butter, cream and cheese is lethal to a health food "foodie" like me. And.... really?!! NO COFFEE other than flavored coffee?!!! Ugh.

The building is amazing. Unbeatable if you want some history with your accommodations. We stayed in the Japonisme room, and loved it. Great breakfasts, and a wonderful atmosphere. Walking distance to everything in the center of Ste. Gen.

The owners Mike and Cathy are some of the nicest people we have ever met. they are very understanding and accomodating. My wife and i have stayed in 3 different rooms now and they are all very unique and comfortable. Our favorite to date is the Captains room as it has its own balcony overlooking a small courtyard. We just... More

We were the only guests, but it was the middle of the week. Terrific B&B--very quaint and authentic. Mike had the menus for the local restraurants, he was so informative we could have listened all day to the history of the building, the antiques, etc. His breakfast was fabulous. Only drawback was having the toilet and tub in same room... More

My girlfriend and I had never experienced a bed and breakfast. This was by far the most amazing experience we've ever had. Cathy is an amazing cook and very sweet. Mike was super nice and very informational. He recommended some awesome places to eat and we weren't disappointed. The house was absolutely amazing full of antiques. We stayed in the... More
