To many individuals coming from the casino next door who were not staying in the hotel. Smoking and being obnoxious in the common areas. Staff was exceptional. Very polite and helpful. Bed was very comfortable
The thing with the Four Seasons is that the service is impeccable. I've stayed in other places in St Louis and the service is a real issue. The food is also exceptional as it's refined and gourmet compared to other St Louis offerings. The bed is fabulous. The views of the Arch are killer. The one thing that is sad is that there is no loyalty program for frequent business travelers.
From the time you drive up the staff is attentive, aware, and so helpful. Room was comfortable and view was great. Can’t wait to bring my family there in September. This will always be my first choice when in St.Louis!
I stayed overnight while visiting Wash-U campus as a prospective parent. I've never visited St. Louis before and the big attraction here to me is the Arch. Our premiere room faced the arch, and we liked the arch-shaped chocolate and custard pastry plate we got on arrival that came on a table facing the window facing the arch. The room was twin-bedded and spacious and everything in the room was fine. Lots of drawers to put stuff in and the bathroom was also good. No hard soap in the bathroom though. Gym was excellent; hotel's restaurant had interesting and tasty desserts and we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast meals there. Breakfast menu was good but could have used a healthy option such as an acai bowl. Dinner menu had no fish on it other than swordfish, which i cannot eat, but concierge arranged tuna steaks for us with the restaurant manager. When I previously called the Cinder House restaurant myself twice to try and arrange something instead of going off property, i got nowhere though. Had the concierge not made it happen, we were going to eat at Landry's at Union Station (a mid-range fish place). 801 Fish (an upscale fish alternative) would have been 15 minutes drive away in Clayton, right across the street from the RItz Carlton hotel there. Concierge also arranged an excellent sightseeing tour with Discover St. Louis; the lead guide Dea was excellent and loves doing her thing. Our two hour drive-around tour was great. Unluckily for me, the day we visited the weather was warm and sunny but the pool was under renovation and I didn't get to to use it. We had an incident during the night; our neighboring room was very loud and argumentative at 3am; i called security and it got quiet but i was surprised that nobody was patrolling the halls at night. Doormen were very friendly; there is no taxi stand here. Expect to call Ubers and to talk to the doormen a bit. Only disappointment was no availability of print newspapers at the hotel in the morning. I was told by the front desk that there was nothing that could be done. All prior experiences at a Four Seasons except once during the pandemic results in newspapers if you want them. I could have probably asked the concierge but didn't think to do it; the concierge doesn't come on duty till 9:30am. Tricia was an excellent concierge pre-arrival and checked up on us to make sure everything was going well during our stay. Except for having a casino next door, there is no place to walk outside of this hotel that I could think of and downtown is just not a place you really want to be. The area around the Wash-U campus is in the next town over (Clayton) and seemed to be a much more pleasant place to be with restaurants, shopping mall and a safer feeling. The Ritz Carlton is over there and that is the other 5-star hotel in the area. If I were going to be visiting someone on the Wash-U campus, that would probably be my first choice. This hotel is probably the first choice of visiting athletes playing in the downtown arenas and people who want to see the Arch from their rooms.…
From arrival to departure our stay at this property was good in every way. We were greeted by welcoming, friendly, and efficient staff members at valet and check in. Our room was well appointed and very clean. Bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable! The meals we had in the restaurant were delicious and with good service. The bar offered great drinks and delicious apps…definitely order the charred onion dip and crispy salty housemade potato chips! This hotel is beautiful, chic, and smells so good. We look forward to returning in warmer weather to take advantage of the rooftop dining, bar and pool.
This was by far the best hotel experience we have had and we travel a lot.we would recommend this place to everyone .trust me when i say they go above and beyond to help with any situation that come along we will be staying there a lot more
Pool was closed both day when I tried to use it during advertised opening hours. Steam room, Sauna and whirlpool facilities advertised as part of included Fitness Facilities but indeed part of the separate Spa facility….. Water at tub won’t start getting hot for at least after 15 minutes….. Five stars hotel pricing with 2/3 star amenities with the above issues…..
The view on the 8th floor balcony is specular the service was wonderful. The room was elegant and beautifully decorated. The one damper on the whole trip was the violation of my personal property. A person on the hotel staff entered my room and stole the only cash I had bought with me. It was not laying out they had to dig through my belonging/wallet to find the cash. The front desk was as helpful as they could be, I guess since I am sure that may have thought i was not telling the truth. And security appeared to be on the case. I will have to wait to hear from corporate if i even do. I will update this review if I do. Be careful do not leave anything of value in your room while you are trying to enjoy the city. UPDATE - Management call be to offer me a credit which would have been fine if this was not a company trip, so all the bill was on the corporate credit card. Then they said they cannot send me back my money. I know I feel very violated again by this whole event again. They are sending me a Four Season gift card to use at any Four Season hotel. I am not inclined to stay at any four Seasons hotel, ever.…
The Hotel staff assigned and provided key cards to a guest for my room at 11:30pm. I had no idea who this guest was, and it was a complete violation of privacy and security. Manager was apologetic after the fact but nothing else was done to rectify it. I could have been in the shower, or not even in the room at the time, resulting in this random stranger to have full access to my personal and valuable belongings.
Save yourself a lot of money and stay somewhere else. From check-in to check-out, we received horrible service for a lackluster room. We were forgotten about several times, one employee didn't know what the other employee was doing, etc. We waited 2 hours to check in, there was mass confusion with credit cards, and we were "confused with other guests" as far as room service.
