Nestled in the heart of the city, Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark is lauded for its prime location and amenities like the rooftop bar. However, the hotel's allure is dimmed by numerous guest reports of dirty and outdated rooms in need of renovation.
While the central location is a highlight, many travelers find the value diminished due to overpriced accommodations and varying levels of service quality. The atmosphere in public spaces may be pleasing, but the room conditions often leave visitors disappointed.

Detailed Reviews
I am a Hilton honors member, it’s easier for me to check in and choose my room ahead of time as I make frequent solo trips. This time I selected my room days in advanced, arrived at the hotel at 2:30pm and was told my specific room I chose needed to be cleaned and it should be ready prior to 4pm. They said they would text me when room was ready. At 4:30 pm I went back to check in as I had not received a text, I was told the room just got ready, and handed cards. When I got into the elevator I was confused as the room number on the cards was not the room I reserved and waited for. When I called to question this I was told the room I requested was unavailable as it had been reserved to someone else, and if I wanted a room closer to that room I would have to pay more. This was mostly frustrating because I waited over two hours after traveling 13 hours for this specific room. What is the point in allowing people the chose their room if you are not going to give them their choice or even tell them you are switching their room? Not worth the expense.

the guy who checked me in was very good, the guy who cleaned the room was and helped me out with toothpaste was better than very good (he went out of his way to offer help), the room service delivery guy was also better than very good (he carried a conversation, offered to do more and introduced himself)...the bartenders and breakfast buffet server was better than average, the rest of the people I ran into; the hostesses in the restaurant, server in the restaurant and people throughout, all seemed like they were doing what they needed "to keep a job", the short haired blonde who was "the manager" of the rooftop bar was the only real attitude that was real disappointing (she was upset with the company I worked for and decided to take it out on whomever asked her a simple question that we wanted to understand)
the stack of dust and renegade pens behind furniture was gross, and the loose shower head that shot off at me was a little silly... but overall it was average.
a little disappointed that this was like this at the Hilton, expected more
The view was awesome though! "Ballpark View"

Stayed a few nights while working in the area. The hotel requires a mask while in public areas. My room was clean. Guys working for me stayed in the west wing rooms were horrible. Hotel staff contacted me and is addressing the issues, hope they are serious about correcting the cleanliness issues my employees experienced. Not Hilton standards. Hotel has 2 wings, East and West. West is older. My room was nice, overlooked a park. The mini fridge, where overpriced drinks usually are, was empty due to covid. So it was nice to keep a few cold drinks in the fridge. During this Covid time, they will only clean your room if you request it. Same for towels replacement. Be sure to ask at front desk about the policy. Hotel is very close to Busch Stadium. The rooftop bar is really nice. Great views and service. Only one elevator goes to the bar. There is a line that people que up to get to the bar. I believe the hotel guests do not have to wait in line for the bar.
Hotel parking in garage is $30/night.
I wouldn't recommend walking outside around the hotel alone at night. I was woken at 230am to gunshots (18 shots) and drag racing across the street. Drag racing is a nightly event downtown. Overall, the hotel is decent and staff is nice. Oh, there is a Starbucks in the lobby.

This hotel has a great location, right next to Bush stadium and within walking distance to famous atractions.
However the cleanliness of our room was very disappointing. The toilet had yellow stains on it, which leads to believe ot had not been cleaned in a very long time, the mirror frame in our bedroon was dusty and there were coffee ring marks on the glass of the coffee table from the prior guests.
The general areas (elevators and hallways) were not vacuumed, and if they did they did a poor job of it, management really needs to supervise their crews because as much as I liked the location I would think twice about staying there again.
There is a restaurant bar atop this property, again, excelente views of the city but the personnel assisting at the lobby to go up have to be more professional in the way they treat people, I am not one to be complaining about being discriminated against because it seems like nowadays people are just looking for something to pull the race card out without any reason to do it but on the particular night my wife and I went up for dinner there was a line waiting to go up, there was a man of African- American origin directing the guests, I overheard him asking a couple of African-American young ladies if they wanted to dine inside or outside because it was a bit chilly that night, bur he didn't ask the white couple in front of us, nor us, who are Hispanic the same question. When we got to the top we were seated outside, ro which both the white couple and ourselves told the personnel at the restaurant that we were not asked about the preference, we were told that they had no more space inside but we were welcomed to eat outside, there were plenty of tables open inside, but the said they were reserved, so we opted to leave.
Once they realized we were leaving and upset they were able to get us a table inside, we ate and left, service was fast, good as well as the food, but the experience was overshadowed by the initial treatment we received.
I used Hilton Honors point for this stay, at a whopping rate of 50,000 points per night, as a HONORE Diamond nember I did not feel neither appreciated nor feel that being charged 50,000 points for a dirty room, which by the way, was a free upgrade, justified the high point rate.
Hilton should really pay close attention to the cleanliness of this greatly located property.
The breakfast at this hotel was the shining point of our stay, the personnel were very friendly and attentive, kudos to them, they do reflect the Hilton tradition of quality customer service.

I used Priceline to book our room. The advantage of using Priceline is you get really good deals, get to stay in nicer hotels. I’ve had to accept that you might get the room next to the ice machine or a room the farthest from the elevator. That’s expected for the money I save. This hotel made us feel we were the not so wanted relatives you do everything you can to make them feel unwelcome.
I’m guessing the hotel was added onto, and is divided into the East and West Towers. The ballroom and pool are in the older part of the hotel. The new part is where all the action happens.
We were sent to the older part of the hotel and went to our room on the 17th floor.
No fridge, no microwave, room didn’t look anything like the rooms they show on the website.
There wasn’t even a book in the room telling about the hotel, it’s restaurants, room service, where the pool was located, etc.
We never once saw a hotel employee, a security guard of any kind in “our part of the hotel”.
There was parties going on, people running up and down the hallway, doors slamming, and we could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway. Nobody from the hotel came to stop it, or check it out.
We stayed 2 nights, so we needed our room cleaned after the first night. We were gone most of the day, and when we returned around 4:30p, our room still had not been cleaned. I had saw the maid cart earlier a few doors down, but then it was gone.
When I called the desk, I was rudely told that just because I saw the cart didn’t mean someone had been assigned to clean our room. She explained she would have someone come.
We left again and when we returned it had been cleaned.
I read other reviews and saw that evidently you have to opt in for cleaning?!? For what you pay, it should be expected.
We checked out the pool, there was a sign that said only 30 people in the pool and 10 in hot tub because of Covid. The pool was packed. Way over 30, and there was about 20 in the hot tub.
2 security guards did come in, but we didn’t see them making anyone leave so we left.
We did like the location, and the waitstaff in restaurant were very nice, as well as the employees at Starbucks.
I love Priceline, but skip this choice of hotel if offered.

The hotel is close to a lot downtown. Our room was a nice view of the arch. With Covid still going on several things are closed or adjusted hours. We requested an accessible room with a king or double queen bed. We got the accessible & was told it was the last one available & was double queen. It was only 1 queen bed. Since it was the last we just kept it. If you need a wheelchair there is quite a bit of room & shower is zero entry too.
Just know if you have issues walking any amount of a distance without assistance it’s going to be a long walk from valet to check-in desk & then not far to elevators. Rooms were not far from exiting the elevator either.
When you valet where you drop off your car & pick up your car are on opposite sides of the hotel so either way there is quite a walk.
Breakfast along with the 2 other meals was in their Bistro room on the main lobby floor..or so you think. It’s not. You go to where the Bistro is & there are stairs to go down to get to it. If you can’t do stairs you have to walk like you’re going to pick up your car around to the other side of the hotel, down a ramp (or other stairs) down another hallway & enter the Bistro in the back only to proceed to the front of the restaurant to get seated or place your order.
With Covid there is no menu’s in the room or the informational booklets giving you where all the amenities are nor what they are. There is no room service for meals. You can go to the Bistro & get carry out & take it to your room.
As for room 2406, if noise of sliding chairs and tables on floors bother you be aware that this goes on & you hear it EXTREMELY well from the time the rooftop bar opens, I believe in the late morning for lunchtime, until well after it closes (Friday night it was 1am I was still hearing it). Very disturbing to me. Nothing they can do about it we were told. I thought the bar was on the 26th floor, but again, no map so not sure.
Staff were all very nice & friendly. Rooms were clean. Would I stay here again? Maybe….if I had a different non-noisy room. As the information says online parking is $30 a day self park & $45 for valet daily (plus tip when you drop off & pick up your car…I felt that was quite pricey).

We had the best stay at this Hilton. Check in was smooth. A night manager named August was the sweetest. She answered all of my questions and handled my requests. Valet parking was a breeze.
The room was spotless and had an ok view of the Mississippi River and the Arch. It was well appointed and quite comfortable for our stay.
Breakfast was a little on the high end, but not considering we were eating an all you can eat style in a downtown hotel. Our server was friendly and invited us to have a bag to take a few muffins and a bottle of water to our room in case we got hungry. They had nice thick cut bacon, suasage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, and french toast. The food wasn't as hot as I would have liked, but it was ok. Being in the Midwest, though they were missing biscuits and gravy.
All in all we had a wonderful stay at this very busy hotel.

You would think that for Cardinals opening weekend that they would at least get the outside windows washed on the rooms overlooking the ballpark. When you pay over $300 a night for a room with what is advertised as their "best ballpark view" you would be able to actually see. Also paid for executive level and there were no snacks or drinks in the lounge the entire night beside a carafe of hot water. The walls to the room were thin and the seal from our room to the hall was so lose I could see the ice machine across the hall in the doorframe. We were given vouchers for breakfast buffet the next morning which was fantastic. While the rooftop bar & lounge looked fantastic it was blocked off for a private event right in the prime viewing area. If you stay here you are straight up only paying for the covenience of being next to the stadium. Next time I will chose another downtown hotel.

This hotel hotel is in a phenomenal location, directly across the street from Busch Stadium, abd within walking distance to many restaurants. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and the rooms are large and very well maintained. The Executive Lounge is one of the best I have experienced.

For the price we paid at this location, I would have expected cleaner public areas, and most definitely updated rooms and weird as it sounds clean windows. The bathroom had cracks around the faucets, the carpet had stains, and the windows were so dirty. The noise level at this hotel is like nothing I’ve ever heard. I would expect much better from Hilton!

There are mirrors up above the lavatory area in the bathroom
Yes - a very easy walk to the arch
I’ve stayed in both towers. All of the rooms are generally the same, even on the executive floors. The East tower rooms are more updated. The executive lounge is located on the main floor between the two towers.
