All we can say about Fleur-de-lys is WOW. Excellent hosts , Mark and Leslie , pays attention to your needs and has great suggestions. The breakfast was delicious. The Mansion is centrally located to so many great places. We will differently use them again. Bob and Sheila Wadkins
If you are interested in a gentle getaway that takes you to a simpler, yet elegant time where literally no detail has been overlooked to make you feel welcome, then Fleur-de-Lys Mansion is for you. From the approach to this gorgeous early 20th century mansion, set among abundant flowers and mature trees, the loving care is evident. The Innkeepers, Leslie and Mark, met us warmly, knew our names and gave us an interesting history and tour of the mansion. There was a delightful array of fine cheeses and fruit with wine available for us to relax after our journey and the hosts were adept at 'reading the audience', understanding who was in the mood to chat, and who needed to unwind. The mansion itself is exquisitely appointed and beautifully restored, filled with many period antiques, but subtle updates provide bountiful comfort, including the most luxurious and comfortable beds with the softest lavender scented sheets I've ever experienced. Each room had comfortable sitting areas and thick, fluffy towels and pillows. Other unexpected conveniences include several ice makers, mini fridges, delightful teas, homemade cookies and biscotti as well as snacks available at all times. We were asked what time we'd like breakfast and Mark, who is a culinary genius, surprised us with the most delicious breakfasts we've had in years, including some totally unexpected surprises, like homemade lemon curd vanilla bean yogurt with fresh compote and homemade granola. The breakfast burritos were incredible with a smooth queso sauce and black beans with chorizo. My husband and I both gained a few pounds. We started each morning of our stay with a walk around the beautiful neighborhood of Compton Heights and found several quaint restaurants within walking distance for evening dining. We have stayed in dozens of Bed & Breakfasts over the years and nothing can come close to the warmth in the details we experienced with Leslie and Mark at the beautiful Fleur-de-Lys Mansion. We will definitely return and bring friends and family with us.…
Leslie and Mark are great hosts. The mansion is easy to find and very well appointed. Our room was so clean and the bed was so comfortable. The cookies in the room were a very nice touch. Breakfast was delicious. We will return!
This was our second stay at Fleur-de-Lys Mansion. It was just as impressive as the first! We stayed as an overnight stop while driving between the east and west coasts. It's close to the interstate (but far enough away to be very quiet) and in a lovely neighborhood great for walking and stretching your legs! The hosts are warm and welcoming, the comfortable room and bed provide for an excellent rest, and the breakfast is scrumptious! Thanks Mark and Leslie!
We recently enjoyed a long weekend in St. Louis and our lovely accommodations at Fleur-de-Lys Mansion. This was our first visit to St. Louis and our hosts, Mark and Leslie, were extremely kind and helpful—instrumental in our enjoyment of the weekend. In addition, to the lovely room we stayed in, we were also treated to absolutely delicious breakfasts each morning—Mark, the chef, definitely knows how to make his breakfasts something special. Mark and Leslie made making our plans for dining and activities very easy with their guide book that is provided a week or two before your visit. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on and added to our outstanding experience. We can highly recommend Fleur-de-Lys and hope to visit again in the future. —Jim and Julie Henahan, Dublin, Ohio
My husband and I stayed in "The Library" for our anniversary weekend. Our room (and mansion in general) was impeccably clean and the little touches such as the homemade cookies upon check-in and the divine breakfast the next morning will forever have us singing Mark and Leslie's praises. They are so friendly and welcoming.
Lovely accomodations, wonderful hosts, super excellent food! My third stay at this wonderful BnB. Will always be my home away from home while in St. Louis. Looking very forward to my next stay. Soon, I hope.
Went to St. Louis to teach a class and chose Fleur-de-Lys for its proximity to the work location. We had not expected the exceptional level of comfort and amenities in our rooms and in the establishment overall. Every detail had been thought through and addressed in a way that made it easy and luxurious for the visitor. Because of the early start time of class, we could not enjoy the chef-prepared hot breakfast, but the proprietors made us breakfast-to-go bags that sustained us throughout the class day. The baked goods were better than Mom's and the full range of food groups kept us pleasantly surprised by the variety and tastiness. We took full advantage of the restaurant recommendations F-d-L offered, and the gracious hosts made it our haven from the intensity of the workplace. Thank you!…
My wife and I stopped at the Mansion on Sunday, March 20,2022. We stayed in the Reservoir Park room which was excellent. The bed was a neat old 4 poster queen size bed from a bygone era. We missed that time. It was very comfortable and we got a great nights rest. The room was comfortable and quiet. The location was close to a section of the town with a number of diverse restaurants to choose from. We were met by Leslie, who together with her husband Mark run the Mansion. She gave us a brief description of the Mansion and "it's" life" from 1915 to the present. It was very informative and added to the atmosphere of the Mansion. We met her husband Mark for a few moments. Mark is a true gourmet chef and served an excellent breakfast in the morning. Even with a long day ahead we were very glad we didn't leave before breakfast. We did arrive early enough to walk around a bit and the neighborhood has many homes with architectures you don't see just anywhere. We felt very good walking around. We did walk to dinner which was about 3/4 of a mile from the Mansion. Many choices for cuisine. If we pass St. Louis on our way home, we will definitely adjust mileage to stay again. Almost forgot - the Mansion is close to Interstate 44. It only took 2-3 minutes after getting off I-44. In the morning, it was another 2 or 3 minutes to get back on I-44…
Our two day stay with Leslie and Mark at the Fleur De Lys Mansion was absolutely wonderful. The owners were so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast(made by Mark) was some of the best I have ever eaten and Leslie kept all of our drink offerings full and provided great tips on places to eat or activities around town. The Forest Park room was great. We loved the whirlpool tub and the bed was very comfortable. Small details like separate HVACs in the room for guest comfortability, beautiful robes, and even a towel warmer really set these place above the rest.
