It was one of the nicest B and B's we have ever stayed in. Matthew, our host, was awesome as was the hostess at breakfast. Matthew brought us so many snacks, cheese, crackers, cookies, drinks that we did not have to go out for supper our 1st night. Bed was comfortable, very quiet even though we were close to interstate. Our last morning, we had to leave before breakfast, and Matthew fixed us breakfast early. We loved it.

Pros: different and cute place. The manager was nice and helpful but I don't know if he liked small children being there. Cons: rooms were very small, bath was super small No where to sit down in the rooms There was a party in the dining room so we were told to stay away from the main area when we arrived. The waiter was rude. He freaked out when another party sat at our table with us. He wanted us all to be at separate tables. He even asked us if we were done yet so he could leave. He was inappropriate and made us feel uncomfortable.

I wanted to personally reach out and apologize to you for the unhappiness you had during your stay with us. We pride ourselves in customer satisfaction and I appreciate any and all feedback, as it is our guest feedback that help us improve. I am very sorry you felt I did not want children at our Inn. I thoroughly enjoyed rolling the baseball with your son in the lobby and I thought both children were very well mannered. I would also like to extend my sincere apologizes for your experience with your waiter at breakfast. With respect, he was trying to make sure your whole family was able to sit together, as he had prepared a special place for your family. He did not intentionally mean to offend anyone, he was trying to keep everyone sitting together. I am sorry if he expressed this in a way that offended you. I have personally spoken to him about both situations and I assure you he meant no disrespect. He was trying to joke around and he failed. We are certainly taking everything you stated to heart and strive every day to improve ourselves so our guest can have the most comfortable and enjoyable stay while here at our Lodge. Our themed rooms are unique and not typical hotel style rooms. We worked very hard travelling all over the United States to bring special and unique decor to each and every room. We also offer 3 suites. These are ideal for those who want more room, want to pamper themselves in a nice Jacuzzi, or have a large family and want to enjoy two adjoining rooms. If you are in St Louis again, please reach out to me and allow me to correct this last visit. I appreciate you taking your time to reach out and write your review, and I hope we have the chance to host you again in the near future. Matthew Wood- General Manager Lodge at Grant's Trail

A beautifully if not a bit over the top decorated lodge located just off Interstate 55 seven miles south of downtown. Our room was a bit small and had too many decorations that prevented us from really unpacking. There was no desk, chair, closet and room to spread out was a premium. The room itself was charming and the bed very comfortable but lacked the space to be called comfortable. The amenities of greeting you with wine, cheese and chocolate chip cookies was welcomed and a very nice touch. The continental breakfast served on week days actually was a wonderful surprise. Lots to choose from, fresh fruit, hot coffee or tea, boiled eggs, plenty of bread and roll choices, orange juice, cereals and milk all were provided, much more than we expected. The building is

We stayed one night. Room was small and had to get a chair from the office so we would have two. The Lodge is right next to the 55 Freeway with much noise. Bathroom space was limited. Breakfast was just Continental with not much variety. Another customer and I had to rummage around the kitchen to make coffee in the morning.. We would not stay again.

I am so sorry that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. The Lodge at Grant's Trail Bed and Breakfast is a unique experience as there is no other like it in the world. It was custom built to our exact specifications for the enjoyment of our patrons. The Bed and Breakfast is very special, quiet and quaint as many of our reviewers have indicated. We also believe our continental breakfast consisting of Danish, Bagels, Mini muffins, English muffins, assorted Cereals, Bread, Oatmeal, Hard boiled eggs, assorted Yogurts, and Fresh fruit provide ample variety for our guests. I am sorry you felt otherwise. If you were expecting more of a hotel experience, we are surely not that.

Visitors to St. Louis might want to try this Hotel/Lodge for a unique experience. The Hotel is situated away from downtown St. Louis, so you will need a car to explore the sights of St. Louis. However, this hotel is both interesting in decor and the service is wonderful. But the most interesting thing is that at about 5:00 PM the hotel staff leaves and your and other guests have the hotel to yourselves! We were a party of four, and there were a couple of evenings when we were the only people in the hotel. We had the run of the place. They showed us where things were in the big kitchen and there was a refrigerator reserved for guests foods. So if you had a big lunch and wanted to take some back for another meal later, you just put your leftovers into the big refrigerator
