Great time. We stayed there to go to a concert downtown. Hosts are fantastic, the breakfasts are good. We love staying there. Quiet and out of the way yet close to all the places we want to see. We watched to dear fawns relaxing in the yard, it was amazing.

We greatly enjoyed our two-night stay at the Lodge in December 2017. We arrived after 5 p.m., but our key was in the door, and wine and cheese were waiting for us. We were in the Rockbridge Room, which is decorated in a fishing theme. We wished that there had been room for a chair in the room, however. Because it was the Christmas season, the entire property was decorated, including individual rooms. We happened to be downstairs at 8 a.m. before the scheduled breakfast time of 8:30. Vicky, the gracious and charming host, welcomed us and offered us breakfast right away. I saw another review that mentioned the noise. This facility is primarily for dining events, and there were events both nights we were there. Fortunately, they ended by 10 p.m.

This is a very distinctive property. Each of the rooms reflects the personality and interests of whoever is responsible for the decorating. This is a very different experience from the typical lodging. At least while we were there, there was no staff there at night. Yet everything is set up so that you feel taken care of. Each room has its own character. The rooms on the second floor are smaller, but each is very interesting. The top floor rooms are much larger and more luxurious. We stayed in the Alaska room on the second floor, which has a very nice balcony that overlooks the greenway along the Grant Trial. The downside is that you can also see and hear the highway from the balcony. If you don't mind the extra cost, I think the balcony in the Washington Room on

My nephew had his wedding reception here...The staff was very friendly and professional. Food was good and tables/set up was very nice. A super cool stone fireplace with a moose over it! Wild deer in the yard! And a great dance floor outside with another fireplace. Not sure what was included in their wedding package but worth checking out.

Pro- The room was clean. Bed comfortable. Staff friendly & helpful. We had wine, cheese, crackers and cookies delivered to the room. Breakfast was good. Con-There was a rehearsal dinner in the great room that evening. They were SO SO LOUD. The air conditioner was even worse. It was so loud we woke up all night long every time it kicked on. AND! The bathroom fan was very worse. I would totally stay here again-in a different room-if there was no event in the great room.
