Every person on this properties staff was so friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to the ARCH, downtown, City Park, Busch Stadium and the Metro. The breakfast was wonderful. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable it was to stay at this hotel. My husband was there for meetings and I was there to see the sights.

Having stayed at this hotel many times for St. Louis Cardinals games, we were pleased to see that the hotel had upgraded its rooms and the hotel lobby. Arriving at 3:00 p.m., we expected to stand in line for a bit to check-in. The front desk had all three station manned and made pretty quick work of check in. The restaurant has also changed from a nice variety of menu items to a more specialized italian menu that doesn't really correlate to the location near the ballpark. Having stayed in the past, the menu had more of a kid friendly menu - this had "polenta fritte". We went to the restaurant before the game but settled on a few appetizers. Saturday started our first set of service issues. We left our rooms for breakfast around 9:30. There was a line of about 40 people waiting to sit down for breakfast. As a result, we waiting 50 minutes for a table for four people to eat a buffet breakfast. The hotel does offer complimentary coffee in the lobby, but when I went to get coffee all four carafes were empty. Once we were seated and went through the buffet, there was your standard fare of powdered eggs, breakfast potatoes (but no spoon to serve them with), then hot syrup, then sausage patties, then pancakes. As a result, anyone who takes pancakes has to then move backwards in line to get syrup. There is oatmeal and cereal, but no milk. There is bread, but only a two slice toaster. So, while going through line, I had to hunt for a spoon to serve the potatoes, look around for milk, cut back in line to get syrup. Then, the set up is such that there is a dining table right next to the buffet such that only one person can pass by at a time. We left the hotel around 11:30 and returned at 5:30. Neither one of the rooms had been serviced. We left the hotel again at 6:15 and returned at 8:30, and only one of the rooms had been serviced. All staff had left for the day, so one room was never serviced. For $350/night, this was a disappointing experience and will think twice before staying at this hotel again. Fortunately, a new hotel is being built near the ballpark which will infuse some new competition and hopefully cause this hotel to improve their service.

We’ve stayed at the Westin STL many times. We stay for it’s location next to Busch Stadium. I was excited that they completed an $11 million renovation as the place needed a facelift. However, despite new carpet, artwork, bedding and a new restaurant, the hotel still completely misses the mark for service. Previous statys have been worse than this current one, but it’s very frustrating. New restaurant: food was not bad, but there were no salt and pepper shakers and we were halfway through our meal before the server came to see if we needed anything. Brought us our check without a pen to sign it. Never have gluten free bread as an option so not allergy friendly. Rooms: new carpet, furniture and bedding. Bathrooms are still the same, with dirty and moldy grout. Coffee pot in the bathroom is gross. Service: No coffee downstairs, and room service for breakfast was going to take an hour. Restaurant seemed understaffed - as if this is the first time there’s been a baseball crowd in St. Louis. Never anyone to open the doors for you when bringing in luggage. This hotel seems to rest solely on its neighbor, Busch Stadium. Very frustrating given the exorbitant cost of the rooms. $550+ and you can’t get a cup of coffee. Not to mention the “bucket boys” banging on their buckets until after 11pm after every game. As a Marriott rewards member, very disappointed. This was the last chance for this hotel.

Came last minute to spend the night and tour the zoo. The location was right next to baseball field. The room we got on check in was large and very spacious with a king bed. bathroom had tile shower and tile separate tub. Self parking was across the street but close. Hotel was very close to several places to eat and drink. I would highly recommend this hotel if in St. Louis. Zoo is free and was great too.

We stayed one night for the St Louis Blues parade in downtown St Louis. The room was very spacious with tall ceilings and it was spotless. I loved the bed and pillows, and slept very well. The service, however, was less than stellar, and the employees lack professionalism and hospitality. They had one person working the front desk and stated that they were at capacity. I called the front desk in the early evening to ask for shampoo as that was the only toiletry missing, and they never brought it up. I went downstairs to get it and waited at the front desk for 10 minutes and there was not an employee in sight. When she finally did arrive she offered no apology for the wait and she had on slippers- bizarre! There are several other choices in the downtown area for hotels, but if the price was right I would consider giving this property another try.
