We used to live in St. Louis, moved away, and began staying at the Westin STL when it opened. We've been gone awhile & stayed here recently. It is not the Westin we remember. The facility itself is still nice. We felt that "they are using Covid-19 as a reason to not provide the services they should." Understaffed, fitness center completely closed, no valet, and we ate breakfast out every day during a 3-night stay because we could not even get them to answer the phone in the restaurant. Everything around is closed right now so plan on scrambling if you need a later meal. We are being told we need to stay here again in a few weeks and we are not looking forward to it. Hope they've stepped it up but not confident they have. (PS. we've stayed in plenty of hotels during Covid-19 that have adapted.)

Dear jdubkc1, Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. I am very sorry it was not the Westin you remembered from the past. Please know that we have recently expanded our restaurant hours and have begun to bring back more staff members throughout the hotel as well. I am confident you will have a better experience when you return for your next stay. Sincerely, Charles

For a Westin, my expectations were greatly diminished. The pros and cons that I experienced at this hotel, would make me think twice about booking here again. Pros: beautiful modern hotel, downtown St. Louis (steps from Busch Stadium and the light rail train), my room was clean, spacious, and well appointed. Cons: separate buildings (even though minimally connected), no covered parking (parking lots are minimally secure, open and if they are full you could end up parking 3 blocks away), no cleaning of the common area (an ice cream spoon and spillage was left for at least 3 days and a beer can for 2 days). Also, I had free breakfast for the 4 mornings I was there, after waiting 30 minutes for a server to wait on me and seeing all of the dirty dishes/tables, I got up and left. I never went back, even though it was « free ». The staff was pleasant. As a Bonvoy member at the Titanium Elite status, it just didn’t live up to the brand name. My stay was ok. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Dear TravelinTodd, I am sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us. I appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention so we have an opportunity to improve the services we are providing. There is no excuse for the cleanliness and service issues you described and please know that we will work to correct these problems going forward. We hope that you consider giving us another chance should your travels bring you back to the St. Louis area. Sincerely, Charles

Ventilation, bagpipe noise all night. Kept us awake all night. Can't wait to checkout. We love the Westin. Besides the noise our rating would have been better. We called the front desk, they stated that they would let maintenance know to look into it.

Probably something to do with how much of a ghost town the downtown St Louis area is right now due to COVID, but hands down one of the quietest properties I’ve ever stayed in. I’ll need to come back when things are busier to know for sure, but the best nights sleep I’ve had while on the road in a long time. Super basic services compared to normal, but comfortable, clean, and quiet are my main rating points. If it’s raining and you park here, you’ll need an umbrella as they don’t have a covered walkway and it’s a bit of a walk (~100 yards) from entrance to parking lot. No valet services, limited dining hours, etc...Doesn’t bother me at all, and I give this place a pandemic-impacted 5 stars!

Stayed here during COVID (Feb, 2021) for a volleyball tournament in town. Services were pretty stripped down due to the pandemic, but I'd still rate this hotel highly. As I stated in the title, this place is literally across from Busch Stadium- it would be the ideal hotel if you're in town for baseball. There's a light rail station right outside the door to get you around downtown if needed. Parking is like $30/night but I found that I could get meter parking for a lot less. Staff were really pleasant. The housekeeping staff were awesome. Restaurant onsite is decent- the servers are great. Room was fantastic- my son and I had a view of the stadium, 2 double beds, and respectably fast Wifi. I'd happily recommend this hotel, and would stay here again the next time I can get to STL to watch the Cubs beat the Cards :)
