While staying at Chase Park Plaza, we were greeted by a lovely and very professional lady named Ebone'. She checked us in, provided a list of restaurants and grocery stores nearby with the current hours, that was extremely helpful, especially with all the Covid-19 restrictions it can become stressful trying to find a restaurant that's open. When we arrived in the room, everything was so clean from them wrapping the remote control in plastic and leaving sanitize wipes in the bedroom and living room. The Bed was amazing! My husband always complains about his back, but he said it didn't bother him not one time so much that he made me take a picture of the mattress. Lol, Every guest and staff that we encountered was following the COVID requirements (especially Ebone' i even asked where she got her full face mask from) hand sanitizer appeared to be everywhere along with signs posted to remind us to practice social distancing. We really enjoyed our stay and felt really comfortable and safe! Thank you to the entire staff for our stay.

As first time visitors to St. Louis we stayed downtown but felt like we were missing out by not seeing other areas of the city. A local recommended we stay at the Chase, which is located in the Central West End neighborhood. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the area, which is extremely safe and is surrounded by a large park and beautiful homes. The Chase is a historic hotel so the rooms are nothing special but the lobby and common areas are very grand. Bed was very comfortable and we did not hear any sirens despite the proximity of the hotel to multiple hospitals. There is a large outdoor space which was open for food and drinks on an abnormally warm winter day. Most importantly, the hotel was very clean and felt very safe during the pandemic. All patrons and employees were masked and the size of the hotel made it easy to avoid other people. If you’re looking for a safe getaway during the pandemic, I highly recommend the Chase.

My daughter & I stayed here because it was one of the only hotels that had an open outdoor pool this summer. First, the hotel is very nice. It is located just outside downtown so no noise or crowds. Masks were required in all public spaces. The room was comfortable and clean, although I did expect the bathrooms to be more updated. The door was originally sealed so we knew the room was clean upon entry. Even the TV remote control had been sanitized!
The pool area was beautiful. They limited the number of guests and escorted us to our seats that adhered to social distancing.

I have stayed at the Chase in the past and I love the history and appreciate they have worked hard to keep its old charm. For a change of pace, I stayed at the hotel last Sunday. I arrived early so I could enjoy the pool and was told my room was ready if I wanted to go ahead and check in. I was then told there would be a $20 fee for checking in early! Seriously!! I declined that offer and waited the one hour poolside. I want to feel sorry for the hospitality industry, but charging for something like early check-in when the room is ready, is not customer friendly when there are plenty of other hotels vying for business.

I have stayed here monthly for a week for almost a year due to work. I find their suites great for doing work and finding some peace and quiet. This is an older hotel that has lots of charm from coat closets when you walk into your room, to shops in the lobby, an elaborate gym, and a great pool. The hotel is older so sounds can be heard from rooms next door which is the trade-off for staying in a beautiful older hotel and generally that is not a problem. The staff do an excellent job at accomodating guests and remembering your name greeting you when they have an opportunity. I dropped something in the garage and someone came running up behind me to make sure I had it. On my last trip, one of the assistant front desk managers, Kimberly Yancey, checked me in and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she was. She went out of her way to make my stay especially comfortable for 10 days. She had extra bottles of water in the fridge, real coffee mugs along with paper ones next to the coffee maker, a microwave placed on a counter with silverware and dishes, and a bathrobe hanging in the bathroom with slippers. You will not be disappointed staying here whether it's for one night or an extended stay. They do their best to make your stay comfortable and meet your expectations.

We recently visited St. Louis, thanks to Pack Up + Go, a surprise travel agency. They chose the hotel for us (we probably would have never chosen something so nice). We were greeted by valet Dion when we arrived. The check-in process was simple and bellman Todd delivered our things to our room with a smile on his face. We were pleasantly surprised to see that we had a lovely suite. Our bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable and greatly appreciated! Everything was very clean. We visited The Preston a couple of times during our stay and Paul took great care of us. The room was very sound-proofed; we never heard another thing once we were in our room. Great stay!

Our family recently stayed here for 4 nights and were absolutely blown away by the level of service and hospitality! When we booked we knew we were selecting a suite but did not realize how nice and spacious our “room” would be, and were pleasantly surprised to see a bedroom with king bed, full kitchen, bathroom with walk in shower and separate tub, full dining area, and living room area with a pull out couch. The space was immaculately clean and well stocked with more than enough towels, linens, etc for our three person reservation. While the room and space itself was amazing, it was the attention to detail and thoughtfulness that really made our stay amazing. The staff had thought of everything, including robes and slippers in all the closets, a bottle of chilled wine and cheese plate waiting for us when we checked in, free movie tickets to the in-house cinema, and a Gooey Butter cake sample from one of the restaurants. During our stay, we used each of the hotel’s several amenities. We used the pool, which is extremely clean with a very spacious deck and many seating options in the sun or in the shade. I appreciated the poolside towels as not to have to worry about bringing one from the room. We ate at the Chase Club, which is connected to the pool deck via a patio and everything was delicious. We also took advantage of takeout at one of the other on-site restaurants The Tenderloin Room, which was a great splurge on a nice meal the last night of our stay. The hotel is also right across the street from Forest Park, which was a great spot for a walk or to explore without having to go far. Overall, the hotel, amenities and space were amazing, but it was the employees who really blew us away even more. Every person we interacted with, from the car side luggage service that unloaded in our room for us, to the waiters in the restaurants, to the check in and concierge, every person greeted us with a smile and were very helpful. We were traveling with a dog too (this hotel is extremely dog friendly!) and they were very understanding and helpful. This stay and hotel property were very memorable and we cannot say enough good things about the Chase Park Plaza! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing trip in the St Louis area!

Not the level of service I was expecting. Our flight in to St Louis was delayed and we were going to be arriving close to midnight. I called the hotel to make sure they held the room. The first call was touted to the main Sonesta number and she could not help me, told me to call back. I tried twice calling the desk and no one answered. When we arrived at the hotel, the doors were locked and there was a note to call the front desk. As I stood outside looking through the glass at the front desk clerk not answering the phone, I began to get really frustrated. When I was choosing which hotel to stay at on my vacation, I called prior to my arrival and asked about cleaning service in the guest rooms due to Covid. I was told that housekeeping was not fully in service but if you let the desk know at check in you can arrange daily service. When I checked in I was told they only have service on Wednesday’s but can get towels delivered whenever we want. Each time I called it took multiple calls and hours for them to arrive. We have had a poltergeist in our suite - The tv in our living room goes on by itself no matter how many times It was turned off. At the elevator there has been a used water bottle filled with someone’s chewing tobacco spit for over a day. There are a lot of hotel to choose from in St Louis, I would not choose this one.

The hotel was beautiful so was the room we stayed in. However, it seems that housekeeping could pay more attention to details. We had a kitchen with a lot of cabinets, however it was quite empty- no trash can (the only trash can was in the bathroom) , none in the bedroom or living room. 2 plates, 0 bowls, 0 forks, 0 knives, 0 paper towels, 0 dish soap, 0 sponges…We opened silverware drawer and all we found was 1 teaspoon in the middle of the whole huge drawer(????), to share for the whole family. We asked guest services to bring some utensils and received 2 big serving spoons instead of regular spoons. We wanted to order some food from the restaurant on site. We scanned the QR code, located the web site, however the site was not functional- the food menu button did not work. When we asked front desk, they were very helpful and brought the paper copy to our room. We really looked forward staying at this hotel, however it seems that the attention to the detail is just not there for a luxury hotel.
