I have stayed at the Chase Park Plaza several times, and the staff is ALWAYS wonderful. They remember me and treat me exceptional. The hotel has, and is still in, renovations, but they have made it seamless to the traveler. Rooms have plenty of space, very very clean, and relaxing environments. Restaurants and great, and the staff at the Preston are awesome!

Hotel's Favorite
I just finished back to back Edward jones Regionals at The Chase and it was fabulous. So many great things to say about the service offered at this hotel. Even though it was under construction, as Sonesta bought it, there was no interruption of anything. The staff was incredibly friendly. Kathy Best was so great to work with in the coordination of every detail. Every banquet server was sweet and helpful and even if it wasn't their job to do so they pitched in. Igor and banquet staff were so accommodating. Aaron at the front desk was efficient and knowlegable. Everything about The Chase is nostalgic. The pool is reminiscent of a day gone by with lovely waterfalls and a relaxing atmosphere and bar. The theater in the hotel is a wonderful feature for the few days it rained and had Toy Story and Secret Life of Pets 2, along with Rocketman, so updated movies. My room was one of the newly rennovated rooms and was so comfortable and roomy. I coudn't have asked for a better situation all the way around. Not to mention is is in the heart of the Central West End of St Louis which is chock full of great restaurants and things to do. Next time you are in STL, stay at The Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta, you won't regret it. Look for Harold and Rod as your bellmen. They are THE BEST!

Dear Sharon, Your review is a perfect testament to why guests return to The Chase Park Plaza year after year: our people and the genuine hospitality they provide. We thank you for calling attention to the many colleagues who impacted your visit from Kathy, Igor and Aaron to Harold and Rod. We made sure your kind words were passed along to those mentioned and everyone asked that we communicate back their sincere gratitude and appreciation. We thank you for the wonderful feedback regarding the new design and furnishings featured in our reimagined rooms and we are pleased to read that our in-house theatre provided a perfect retreat for a rainy summer day. Once more, the pleasure was fully ours and we invite you to hurry back just as soon as you can. All the best, Matthew White Director of Operations

Brand new hotel room. Very comfortable. Appreciated the many outlets and USB ports for charging devices - especially how conveniently they were located on the bedside tables. Housekeeping service was excellent.

Visited the chase this last week. Have stayed here many times. They are remodeling which is very nice as the hotel was in great need. However, there are a few things that left me questioning the stay. First, there was a pink ring in the toilet when it hasn’t been scrubbed. That’s something that doesn’t happen overnight, but over a period of time of not being cleaned. Secondly, our room was on the third floor over the chase club. You would think that third floor was far enough from the restaurant that you would not be disturbed. Our family was there Wednesday through Saturday and I love good entertainment as much as anyone, but I don’t want to hear the chase club from the third floor. They had live music Thursday, Friday nights (not sure about Saturday night as we left for home). It was ridiculously loud and way to late! I was awake at 11:30 and the music was still going strong! If was live music with huge drums!!!!! I did call the front desk and they said they would send security to the club. It did no good. I feel as though 11:00 is plenty late for live music where rooms are over the restaurant especially for the price you pay! Just not a peaceful experience at all!

Dear arjeepgirl, It is always a pleasure to welcome back old friends and we thank you and your family for spending your St. Louis retreat with us. While we are pleased to find that our reimagined rooms captivated your senses, we are sorry to learn that the outside noises seeped into your room and we regret that availability did not allow us to offer a change in accommodations. This feedback provides us with great value and our management team will be giving this thought to determine what more can be done to ensure this is not repeated for future guest experiences. On behalf of all of us, the pleasure was ours and we look forward to winning back your heart the next time you join us. If we can assist in planning your return, or reserving more serene accommodations, we invite you to be in touch. Warm Regards, Matthew White Director of Operations

My family and I came to St Louis for a week long family vacation. I booked our room approximately 3 months prior to our trip. I called twice the week before our arrival to confirm our reservation only to be told upon check in that the “concierge floor,” which was supposedly to be the 9th floor we booked, was under construction. I purposely booked this floor/room for the access to water and snacks as we were traveling with 2 small children. They did provide a small discount for the room for our inconvenience but could have very easily informed us of the change prior to check in. Our room was spacious, clean for the most part. The bed linens have an odd odor to them and housekeeping could pay more attention to small details (such as replacing dirty glasses/coffee cups and emptying the ice bucket.) We were given a suite with 2 entry doors and one of the doors did not seal all the way around causing light from the hallway to shine through at night. I used towels and the blanket provided to cover this as it was distracting- especially for the 3 year old trying to sleep. There also must be some issue with their AC- the room thermostat was set on 66F but it was unusually warm. The food was good. Pool was nice and not overly crowded. Brenda and Kelly in The Preston were amazing every morning- always went out of their way to be sure the kiddos were taken care of and happy. Orlando, a bellman I believe, is magical with the kids!!! He played with them while we were sorting out the check-in dilemma and every other time he saw them!!! The front desk staff could use some smiles and a more welcoming front. (Uninviting comes to mind). The hotel is in a great location. Lots of restaurants and shops with in walking distance. (If you get a chance, make your way to Jeni’s for some amazing ice cream!) The hotel is an easy drive to most attractions in the area. Would I stay here again? Maybe but probably not. When we go on vacation the little things matter and we want to be taken care of- that’s what we pay for. We are Diamond Hilton Honors members and let’s just say Sonesta could take a few pointers from Hilton in regards to customer service- mostly little things that can make or break your experience, at least for us. We chose to stay here this visit mainly because of the suite options, resort style pool, and physical location. Sonesta supposedly has a “status match” program that I had arranged prior to our stay but it didn’t mean a thing during our stay- No welcome drink or local gift in the room as the website states, etc. I couldn’t even get a complimentary bottle of water (and the girl at the front desk who told us “no” probably shouldn’t be in the service industry.) The property itself is grand and beautiful but there is still lots of work to be done.

Dear lovinmygoldens, It was a pleasure to welcome you and yours and in particular the little ones, and on behalf of all of us in St. Louis, we appreciate the thoughtful and thorough review. While it warms us to read that many aspects of your visit left you impressed, including your dining experiences at Preston, the service provided by Brenda, Kelly and Orlando, and of course, time by the pool, we regret to read that other aspects fell short of expectation. We take these comments to heart and our entire team regrets any inconsistencies. Should your time allow, I would welcome the opportunity to speak by phone so that I may extend a more personal apology and learn more about your visit. With that in mind, I invite you to forward your contact information to me at mwhite@sonesta.com, along with a convenient time that I may be in touch. Once more, we thank you for sharing your comments and I look forward to speaking with you later in the week. Warm Regards, Matthew White Director of Operations
