Some rooms may have a decent view of the arch, or part of it. Other than the baseball stadium being close a few other cool spots, the area around it is tired and not real great. However, the big disappointment is the overall service and tiredness of the hotel. Not a lot of things to be excited about and sadly a couple bad managers can really ruin the entire trip. When a guest is staying there as part of a conference room block, that is probably paying the hotel tens of thousands of dollars, the hotel could have a little more grace and understanding to guests. For example, if the conference is running long on the final day and it would be helpful to have extra time to pack up and not interrupt important meetings taking place within your hotels. Instead, being nickel and timed to pay $50 for an extra hour beyond the 'free' 12pm checkout or $100 for the 2-hours extra feels like the worst customer experience ever. It seemed like the front desk new it was a crappy policy and felt bad, like they wished they could help because they immediately went to get the manager right away, since they couldn't do anything to help. The manager had no customer service common sense or awareness. Instead just stood with arms crossed saying "that's the policy". I asked if the the hotel was sold out that night, to which he tried to dodge and when I asked again he said no. So any well mannered manager would say, what does one complimentary late checkout do then. It doesn't disrupt our upcoming nights check-ins and it makes a guest leave with a positive impression. Instead, it leaves someone with the worst impression of the hotel ever, along with Hyatt as a whole, and makes the entire stay seem negative. Not really worth the $50 room fee.…
My daughter and I were very please with our stay. Our room was very comfortable. Parking was convenient and secure. Housekeeping responded quickly to our need for new linens. The location was close to the attractions we wanted to visit.
As a travel agent, I HIGHLY recommend the Arch rooms. The view is amazing. I have already posted pictures in all my agent groups. We were traveling Route 66. The staff was wonderful. So worth the money.
Upon arriving me and the teens were met by great parking staff that took care of the bags and the car until I was prepared to park in the garage. Then Matt was our bellman who delivered our luggage and even hug up my garment bags. Great touch! The hotel is beautiful and I attended conference as expected but with a touch of graciousness from the staff I encountered. The Starbucks on site is a nice touch and the baristas were awesome. Those were some of the PROS. However, I had some CONS, unfortunately I experienced poor sleep quality with the queen bed in my room and challenges with the thermostat not heating the room until the next morning. My room was cold impacting my ability to sleep the first night. Unfortunately I had a nasty bug crawling across the bed in my room. Outside of that, everything else was great, that is why the rating is Average and not Very Good. The hotel did handle the bug situation with an agreeable resolution. I'm grateful that the hotel valued me as a customer in this situation; that goes a very long way with me as I'm loyal to the Hyatt brands. …
My overall experience was really good except for the fact that my bathroom toilet was really slow to flush and kept backing up. Also, you can't bring a luggage cart to your room to bring down your own bags. You have to use the bell service; that was annoying.
Over all disappointed by my stay. The vents in the room were filthy and I had to request them to be cleaned. There was dirt in the windowsill that never got cleaned even though the curtains were always open making it clear. Some of the usb plugs didn’t work. The lifts were a nightmare and to top it all off they put two holds on my card by mistake and a week after my stay one is still on my card. The breakfast was lovely so there was a nice win and the view from my room was great of the arch.
Excellent the Manager, Mr Cross, and all the team at the reception are amazing such as the breakfast staff. Great food at the restaurant inside the hotel Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse with very generous portions.
There is a Ruth Cris on site, its fine but pricey for the food and service, the other evening option is a basically a pub/sports bar with a very limited menu. AND not many other good support options in walking distance. This place is fine for 1-2 nights but I was there for 5 days.
Good location, room is clean, staff service from front desk to housekeeping are very good. Only very disappointing thing is food quality is inconsistent at the Brewhouse restaurant on the ground floor, better spend more n eat at the Ruth Chris, at least the food n service is up to par.
Toilet was dirty, shampoo dispenser empty, tub clogged. Overall it was a fine place to crash but it's clearly an aging building run on minimal staff. On sure sports bar was a dud, serving browning Caesar salad and no one watching the entrance for 10+ minutes. It's right by the arch but not much else to see or doo within a short walk. Expect to walk 20+ minutes to get to different restaurants and entertainment.
