While travelling through places you have never been before, and on a budget, pre-trip planning for motels is somewhat similar to on-line dating......the pictures are NEVER similar to the reality. But keeping that in mind, FINN'S MOTEL is a reasonable motel for the price although the pictures on the website are "glamour shots" provided by the management and do not quite match the least expensive rooms (for example: Room 102). Management has done a good job in the upkeep of the rooms however. The pictures would indicate it might be located in the town as opposed to right off the highway but despite the proximity to constant nighttime truck traffic on the I-44 the windows are remarkably soundproof. If you are a light sleeper, however, the old heater/AC unit might be noisy so bring some earplugs. The bedding is clean and the mattress looks new and is very comfortable. The washroom is dated but it is clean and well-maintained. As a "budget" motel this is a very reasonable place to stay.

This place is under new ownership and management. Ive stayed here a lot and the old management used to only allow linen changes once every 5 days, this is true, however, the new owners are MUCH better. Friendlier, more accommodating, helpful, and will work with you however they can to assist your needs. The rates are better and they offer rates for 7 days not 5. I would highly recommend this place if you are trying to stay at a cheaper place that is clean and all things work. The new owners also added flat screen TV's to all the rooms instead of the very outdated ones found before.

The motel is a very very pleasant stay very clean rooms very kind owners. I give Finns motel in St. James no. I would recommend to anyone to stay here. Nice place nice location best motel in town. From the Johnsons in room 5 July 10th and 11th wish they would put me to work for room and board and $100 a week I would do so.

This was great place for my family of 4 to stay for a couple nights while visiting the area. The room was quite well maintained and clean! I have stayed in some places double the price of this room that were not as well kept. I was very impressed and will definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Thank you!

Room was exactly as pictured. Appreciate the non carpeted floors. They accommodate pets for a low fee. Room was very clean. Fridge and microwave, coffee maker and direct TV. Would definitely stay again. Is close to highway so a bit noisy, didn't interfere with sleep.

Strong smell of sewer gas! We ran water in all drains in case the drain traps were dry - but it did not help. Owner moved us to another room but it had tha same smell. Wife was feeling sick. Owner tried to move us again, but by this time we had enough of their lies. We left and got a room in a nearby town. The owner would not give us a refund - even though we did not stay the night.

Very friendly owners. I have stayed in there several times for work and have always been greeted with a smile and friendly talk. Very clean rooms and good wifi. No bugs of any kind. I liked it so much, Highly recomended

Was extremely clean, I was impressed. Was a last minute decision to stay. And would definitely recommend it. I have stayed n a lot of really expensive hotels that weren't this clean n was pretty nice to.

If you are considering this hotel, you have the right to know what your walking into. I booked a room because I had to be in Rolla Mo. very early on a Saturday morning. The room was booked on a Thursday afternoon for a Friday night stay. When I checked my intinerary it said I was booked into a smoking room. I don't smoke. I didn't want to lay on a mattress that smelled like stale cigarettes. So at 8 a m I called Expedia to either cancel or change the reservation. The manager/owner of Finn's Motel refused to accept the cancellation and said that there was no non smoking rooms available. My room was 121, a smoking room. Room 120 a non smoking room sat empty right next to me all night. At 8:03 a m Friday morning he processed my credit card for that evening, 12 hours before I arrived. This is the customer service you will receive. Now, here is the low down on the room.Black mold growing on the tile in the tub/shower. Soap scum and stains in tub. Brown stain of some sort directly above the toilet. Bathroom sink cracked. Toilet horribly stained, barely flushes. Ceiling cracked, coming apart. The receptacles are very limited, and so worn out my by pap machine would not stay plugged in. The motel is old, probably built in the 70's and apparent that no upgrades to it except a metal roof. It would have only been a few dollars more to stay in a economy grade motel like motel six or that sort. This mistake wont happen again.

Great place clean great price love the floors no carpet off the highway couldn’t even hear it much and I’m a very light sleeper husband favorite was the sheets not a single stain/ dirt mark and so soft they showed us the room before we even checked in.
