We were on a driving trip making our way back to our home city and having read about The Inns at St. Albans before the pandemic, we decided to detour to this location for a one night stay. The location is simply gorgeous. We stayed in The Lodge and we were the only guests in the entire place. Our room was lovely with comfortable beds and pillows and seating, good lighting, plus an in-room sink with a mini fridge stocked with bottled water. The bathrooms are also lovely with plenty of towels and a great shower with Molton Brown amenities. There is no restaurant other than a small historic cafe which is only open Thursday through Sunday. This would be a beautiful location for weddings and wedding parties. Highly recommended!

My wife happened on this hidden gem while searching for a quiet place to for us to celebrate my birthday weekend. After several emails and phone calls with Schuyler the GM, she picked the Lodge as our destination and scored. First off St. Albans is an absolutely beautiful drive just out of the hustle and bustle of St. Louis County and the Chesterfield area. If you route yourself just right you will enjoy some of the most scenic travel this area has to offer passing by sprawling ranches and homesteads that are simply breathtaking. Upon our arrival at the Lodge we were greeted by the nicest staff who answered questions, pointed out the amenity's and even walked us to our room. The first night we enjoyed the Porch Party at the Head Store for live music and top notch food and service for dinner. Quite honestly this may have been the absolute best pot roast I have ever tasted in my life! The folks at the Head Store are beyond friendly and accommodating (just like everyone else at St. Albans). Another great thing about St. Albans is that everything is an easy stroll to get to and from adding to its charm, warmth and I dare say personality. Our room at the Lodge was incredibly comfortable and spacious with doors that took us right out to the large, welcoming front porch where we enjoyed comfortable rocking chairs and a table that first night after dinner for Margarita's, music and a terrific view of the lake. On our second day we enjoyed breakfast at Head Store and then a hike up St. Albans trail to the cemetery then back down to the gardens, Post Office and Cottages followed by a 2 mile hike out in Engelmann Nature Area. Our trip to St. Albans and our encounters with its staff the residents and the other guests was absolutely what we needed to unplug, unwind and relax. We will be going back without a doubt and we can't thank Schuyler and the Team enough for their attention to detail and their attention to their guests. Trust me when I say that Schuyler and his Team are completely engaged!

I was lucky enough to stay in the brand-new Lodge with my two children for one night. We had a Double Queen room, and it was so spacious and beautiful, with the floor-to-ceiling views of the lake. Everything was great, and we had such a peaceful, relaxing experience. The two young ladies who were staffing the desk and helping me for check-in and check-out, in addition to answering other questions during my stay, were so friendly and helpful and kind. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

We had a brand new room with a porch overlooking the lake. The lake is large and has a very nice walking trail.. Very nice, clean and excellent service. The only drawback was the pillows. They were a down alternative and would go pancake flat. No support whatsoever.

We stayed at the cottages at Old Barn on Easter weekend to celebrate our 41st anniversary. The properties are beautiful, meticulously tended, extremely clean and simply beautiful. The Old House breakfast is a must! We will be back and have already referred to friends and family. A special thank you to Schulyer, the property GM for making our stay perfect.

They have smaller cabins as well as a big old house for overnight stays. They are close to a small freshwater lake and a couple great golf courses. On-site eating and a bar are also available. A very nice relaxing place to spend a weekend.

My spouse & our dear friends rented cottages for a getaway and had a WONDERFUL experience. Our cottages were lovely, all 3 meals we had at Head's Store were fantastic, and we loved that our dogs were welcomed. What put the experience over the top was Sarah Redmond's hospitality; she was so warm and so wonderful. Additionally, and importantly, we felt *safe* spending time here as we were able to eat our meals outside and the Inns took such care regarding the cleanliness of the rooms. We look forward to many many more visits. Thank you Sarah and everyone for providing such a delightful experience!

My sister and I traveled to St Albans to take a cooking class. We weren't sure what to expect, but the accommodations were amazing. We stayed in the Studio which is a 100+ old house that was completely renovated so it had the charm of an older property with all of the modern conveniences including a newer kitchen on the 1st floor. We shared the space with 6 other people but it still felt very private. We had our own bedrooms and shared a bathroom between the 2 of us. Beds were comfortable and the common areas were big and beautifully decorated. The views are amazing and just a very short drive from the space where we had our cooking class and group meals with the rest of the cooking students. St Albans is a charming town...a short drive from St Louis and includes a lake. The cooking class was really fun and well organized. It was well paced...a good mixture of learning and leisure. We did learn a lot but still had fun. Hospitality was second to none...the owners and staff really wanted to take care of us. I am already planning my next trip back!

The Inns at St. Albans is a lovely b and b with a variety of sleeping quarters. I stayed in one of the lovely and spacious cottages. Apparently it has been a wedding venue for several years and recently expanded to Culinary Camps. I attended "Pie Squared" Friday afternoon through Saturday morning and had a great time and learned a lot! One price covered the class, the accommodations and 5 meals. There is also a golf course on the grounds.

We had a light lunch and sat outside on the patio in mid March. Thanks to the winter window inserts and temporary heaters it was comfortably. We ended up with five empty plates. Ribeye sandwich, fish sandwich, two Cobb salads, and a Dubliner. Outstanding service that you almost didn’t know was around but we never had a need. Thank you!
