True this hotel is indeed on the village, from my point of view ... these hotel should NOT insert "Resort" on their hotel name. At first glance ... these hotel is not look like a hotel or even a resort but more suitable a cottages. The cottages is somehow is very traditional javanese homes, even room is big ... there is so many flies and other things that i cant tell one by one, the bathroom is quite dirty and pond garden water also dirty. Due this hotel are most of them are wood there is so much dust in room and the lighthing is too dark and narrow road in the garden. I ordered 2 night with big families from Jakarta and forced me to cancel in the next morning ... due not comfortable to sleep.

Was in the Kampung Labasan restaurant yesterday with family. The food was indeed delicious and kind of rare this days. It was "Makanan Kampung", had a satay kotes and Gulai pakis. The atmosphere was great, unspoiled. And the service was excellent. Will try the cottages next time though. The downside was the location sign is not clear enough. But thanks to Google Map, it's a no brainer to navigate.

Kampung Labasan has about 4 or 5 huts available, tried to make them as authentic as possible. Which - I have to admit - was a bid weird when we entered the hut, the 5 of us had 7 double matrasses to choose from spread over both floors, the shower in the bathroom was manually operated, which means you have to fill a small bucket on a stick and poor the water over your head, not very practical but authentic. "Fortunately" they have plenty of warm water and also internet available, seem to remember there was even a TV in the room. So authentic in a comfortablel way. The food was outstanding and the service level unseen, the staff was helpful 24/7 literally, we went to see the sunrise, and the staff woke us up at 4 and prepared a small breakfast just for us. We needed to get to the railway station in the middle of the night and were brought there by one of the staff, as we had some difficulties to get a driver. Bottom line, if you want to stay near Kaliurang, take a look at Kampung Labasan

We found Kampung Labasan as a sanctuary from the crowdness of Yogya city. Situated near the traditional market and paddy field, we found Kampung Labasan as a comfort and quite place. Exactly the place we looking for after the busy day visiting many interesting place in Yogya, Gunung Kidul and Tawangmangu. Each of the house located above the fish pond, an exciting view for the children. The children could also play with 3 persian cats, owned by the resort. The internet connections is very weak inside the house as the router is located at the main joglo house. But soon as you go outside the house, you will have bettleer connection. Not fast, but sufficient to make a review :). You need to go to the joglo house for optimum connection while enjoying hot coffe or tea. At our selected houe ("House of Badui"), the ground floor could be considered as main bed room with Bed for 2 persons, TV (no cable TV, just indonesian TV by UHF antenna), and 2 chairs with table. Depend on the number of visitors, the 2nd floor could be filled up to 5 single beds. The stair is very steep. Becareful when you step-up or down, especially for the children. The shower is located in the ground floor. It has no shower, but you still have hot and cold water. Break fast and when you order food, it could be delivered to the house.

By just a short turn from main road, I found Kampung Labasan Resort seated beside a rice farm. It is like went through a time tunnel, entered into an utopia land cutting away all noise behind. I wish I could stay in all the 5 characteristic rooms and I regarded only planned for a night there for my Yogyakarta trip. Listening to Pak Topan (The owner) knowledgeable education tour on his organic plant and herb garden is enjoyable, and I also loved the authentic dishes from restaurant. I am looking forwards to next holiday at Kampung Labasan Resort.
