CHECK-IN ISSUE: When we arrived, we were unable to park, for the 5 minute limit, by the lobby to check in. Others were parked there, but all of the sudden there were cones up. Why were we supposed to park a mile away and drag our bags to the front desk to check in to then find out that we had to drag the bags back to our car and then drive to another building location once our room was assigned. Most hotels/resorts have the 5 minute parking by the lobby so we can simply check in, find out where our room is and go back to the car to drive to the room location. I was so confused by the disorganization of this check-in and the lack of ease it should have been. ROOM ISSUE: You knew I was coming for a wedding - you gave me the wedding party discount on my room. You knew the wedding was at 5pm - it was scheduled by your team. I saw on my reservation that check-in is supposed to be at 4pm, so I asked for an early check-in. I understand that you can't promise that, but at 4:30, our room still wasn't ready...and the wedding was in 1/2 hour. I don't understand why I had to forcefully demand a room, when you knew I had less than 1/2 hour to get ready for the wedding at your resort. And when we got to the room, it was 80 degrees inside, and impossible to get ready, appropriately, for a formal wedding due to the heat. And because our original room wasn't ready, we got moved to a different building and we were nowhere even close to the rest of the wedding guests/our friends. Also, I was told by the bride that I was supposed to receive a welcome package from her, when I checked in. I never did. I asked the front desk about it...they had no idea about it....although all the other guests received it. FOOD ISSUE: I'm shocked that a resort your size does not have room service. After finding that out, I ordered online to have some pizza delivered. I gave them my room number. I later received a call that my pizza was in the lobby and the delivery person was not able to deliver directly to the room. Your resort is NOT secure. The outside doors to all the buildings do not require a key. Why would a delivery person not be allowed in the buildings? You expected me to leave my room and walk a 1/2 mile to the lobby and back? For you to refuse to let delivery drivers even come to the door of my building, and acting like you're some sort of secure resort is laughable. In the end, a resort staff member did escort the delivery man to my room, but gave me grief the whole time. As I told him, I did not pay $250/night to be treated like this and harassed because of your ludicrous policy. Either have room service, or allow the local restaurants to deliver. The treatment by your staff was absurd and very rude the whole time we were there. I hope these issues are addressed with your staff.

We stayed three nights for a long weekend getaway. I had stayed here once before back in the late 80's when it was Tan-Tar-A Resort and had been pretty impressed with it then. There have been many improvements made since it became Margaritaville, and it's a fun place to visit. However, a few easily preventable issues left us with a bad impression this time. The main problem was the uncleanliness of our room. After being in the room barefoot for a few minutes, the bottoms of our feet were black from the dirty floors. They obviously hadn't been cleaned for some time, so we wore shoes the entire time after that. Who wants to get into a clean bed with black feet?? Then we opened the refrigerator to put some drinks in there, and it still had food and drinks from previous guests in there. It didn't smell good since some of the food left was sandwiches and salads, so we never opened it again. After the first night, I noticed black particles on the floor in front of the A/C unit, and that got worse the next day. It was either mold, or the filter was deteriorated and being pushed out with the air. Also, even though we set the temperature on 71, anytime we left the room for a few hours, the temperature would go to 78. The air would kick back on when we entered the room, but would take about an hour to get down to 71 again. I called the front desk about that, and it's by design. I guess they figure it's worth inconveniencing guests to save a few dollars on utilities. I'm pretty sure we paid plenty enough to warrant leaving the air on the entire time. I did figure out a way to "McGyver" it though. It's a motion sensor on the thermostat, so I pointed a fan at a piece of cloth that I hung from the ceiling in front of the thermostat. We stayed nice and cool after that. Housekeeping doesn't enter the rooms during the stay, so you have to call to get more towels when you run out. They should just leave enough to cover a guest's entire stay. Same with the in-room coffee maker. There's enough for four cups of coffee in the room. Pretty ridiculous. The first full day we were there we walked around just checking the place out. The swim-up bar obviously wasn't open yet (10am), but the gate was open, so we walked in to look at the pool. A manager promptly walked out and rudely told us we couldn't be in that area yet. No need to be rude... we were just looking. Most of the staff were pretty friendly, but he and a couple of others were not. It's really a shame that things so easily preventable will leave a negative impression on guests. It really is a neat place, but we will likely never stay there again because of the issues. The front desk did take $50 off my bill when we checked out after I told them about the problems, but it should have been at least twice that amount. $50 doesn't really encourage us to give it a second chance.

We asked for two king beds with accessibility. We were given one king bed with a pull out on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Temp control wasn't working. Spiders. No parking and everyone has to hitch a golf cart ride. Very hilly. Overcrowded pools. Stood in line for check in 60 minutes. I would expect to pay $85/night for this - not $250. Never again.

We came here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary because this resort is on the same spot where we spent our honeymoon 40 years ago. The Margaritaville crew did an AMAZING job making our stay special. There was so much to do here, it was really hard making a choice! We listened to live music at the Tiki Bar several nights, went boating, drank at the pool bar, or simply relaxed by the fire in the lobby (my favorite!!). And for our anniversary we had a steak and lobster dinner at the Windrose where we watched the fireworks right outside their massive lake-view windows. I want to thank all the people here at Margaritaville for making our 40th anniversary a memorable one. Especially Michael, at the front desk, who went out of his way several times to ensure we were taken care of.

Staff was so nice! Room was comfy. Food on property was good. The Perfect Margarita was definitely the best I've had! Horseback riding was awesome. Docks were very nice. Property was clean and well manicured. Will totally come back!
