Excellent location. We stayed in Unit 2 of 5 units & was very clean, roomy with everything needed for a self catering holiday. A rental car is a necessity & was arranged & was waiting when we arrived at the unit. Would possibly be the best location for accommodation as it looks out to Phillip Island & down to Quality Row. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

Outstanding view overlooking Kingston and the ocean. Close (walking distance) to the 'heritage' area of the original settlements and the Emily Bay beach. The unit was well provisioned and more than adequate for our 7-day stay. It is not what I call a "lodge": it is a single level building with just 5 units and no on-site management. It was perfect for privacy and solitude. However, it is several km away from the main township, so getting help if there was an urgent serious problem would have been a worry --- although the management did provide a complementary mobile phone for local use, which was much cheaper than roaming rates or getting a local SIM card. The complementary WiFi was good. The weather was unseasonally hot during our stay and we had a few uncomfortable nights: there was only one pedestal fan & the cord was not long enough to reach the bedroom; and the lack of insect screens prevented us from leaving the windows open at night to allow in the lovely sea breeze. Even with the windows shut, there were lots of cockroaches at night -- but I gather that is a problem anywhere on the island. Very satisfied overall: Insect screens or an extra fan would have earned an extra half-star from me.

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 day trip to Norfolk Island. Our stay at The Islander Lodge was fantastic. The room itself was very clean and well appointed. It wasn't the newest and most modern but more than adequate. The best part was the view. We sat for many hours just relaxing looking across the bay. All in all a wonderful place to stay.
