This place has SO much potential to be awesome. So sad it’s poorly/NOT maintained…….we had fun minus all the dirty mess and run down facilities. We rented Ranger Smith Cabin 039 PRO: 1. Cozy and cute cabin 2. A/C’s worked great 3. Great location 4. All kitchen appliances worked CON: 1. Dirty upon arrival 2. Toilet leaked 3. Bed frame was broken (after maintenance “fixed” it and it broke again we just removed frame ourselves to get decent sleep) 4. Grass not mowed 5. Half the screen missing on screen porch 6. TV or internet didn’t work 7. Linens and Towels were damp Waterpark : Sad state of disrepair. Dirty. Toddler area was good. Wave pool worked a few times. Many slides not open. No discount was offered. Food, Drinks and ice cream were good !!! They are trying to make it better it seems. Understaffed was always the excuse ……. Park: Jumping Pad, Mini Golf was fun! Area not kept up though, trash all around. Activities were cute, but short staffing led to many cancellations for bear in suit appearance. Only saw Boo Boo once (we stayed a week) the girls running activities tried hard to make the kids happy! Overall, a fun time for my little family of 3! Be prepared to clean your cabin upon arrival and bring cookware ! Bring washcloths and kitchen rags. Hang fly traps inside and out!

I don't normally write reviews, but I am here to hopefully save someone else time, money, and a bad experience. We chose to stay at Jellystone during the week to avoid crowds. We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon. The signage to the park is extremely poor. Once we got to the entrance, no one was at the guard shack. We pulled over and I went into the gift shop and was able to check in (although the sign on the gift shop door said the guard shack would be manned for check-in from 9am -9pm). This is not a huge deal, but it would be nice if there was a sign along the roadway that said to check in at the gift shop so you know where to pull in and park while hauling a camper. At check-in the seasoned worker was not very friendly (the girl who said it was her first day was nice though!) but she did give us a nice packet with a good map and a list of kids' activities. (However, we tried the tie dye shirts and they were out of kids' sizes [and said they had been for weeks]...for the KIDS' activity...) We got to our site and the concrete pad was covered with dried grass, rocks/crumbled concrete, and dirt. We swept it off, but it just kept blowing back on the concrete. During our stay, we noticed they were preparing sites on an as needed basis (ie: they mowed the site next to us the morning that those campers arrived) and left tall grass around unused or permanent sites. There were a lot of permanent camp sites, which is fine, but some were very cluttered and unappealing. Our site also had litter everywhere when we arrived. 20+ empty plastic bottles, a few pieces of sidewalk chalk scattered on the concrete pad, an old broken hose, and some cardboard. Sites share a water spigot, so bring a splitter! They don't sell splitters in the camp store... The second day we were there, it rained so then all the too-tall recently mowed grass was all over our shoes, mats, rugs, camper steps... Mini golf was fun, but at busy times they didn't have enough golf clubs. There was also trash around the course--drink bottles and cans. There is a water balloon launcher. You can buy the balloons in the store, but noone picks up the trash so there are busted water balloons all over the ground and part of the golf course. The kids also loved the jumping air pillow, and it was working. We went to the water park both days, which is the whole reason we came to this park. The first day, the wave pool didn't work at all. The second day, the wave pool came on about six times (in a span of 8 hours), but one of the other pools and the toilet bowl slide were closed. Two of the three big slides were closed the whole time they were there. There was no reduction in entry fee for people coming in on day passes even though the only things working were one slide, the lazy river, and the toddler area. They said the wave pool was broken, but we heard them on their walkie talkies saying to turn on the wave pool at times, so I think they were just trying to save diesel. All of the staff and lifeguards seemed very unhappy. No one was friendly. Our son lost his goggles in the lazy river. We looked for them and got in trouble for not having rafts with us while looking for them. The second day we asked for them in lost and found and they said they had been found and to ask a lifeguard for them. The lifeguards told us to ask at the front desk. The front desk told us to go back to a lifeguard. We obviously never tracked them down. We were able to get lunch at the water park and ice cream later, and all of that was good. The cook back in the kitchen was the nicest staff we encountered! He just happened to talk to us from the kitchen window and was friendly. The hours of eateries, etc. on the website don't match the hours of some of their posted signs, and the actual open hours don't match either the website or their signs! Overall, it was a mess of a trip. Some clear signage would help a lot, along with a little clean up. Someone told us the new owners had put half a million into the water park. Looks like the money went into new paint, umbrellas, and tables because everything did have fresh paint and there were plenty of chairs, but most of the actual water park equipment was not working. They were setting out new tables and umbrellas while we were there, but just put the unopened boxes out and left them. One family finally just opened the box and set up the table and umbrella themselves! I 100% understand being short staffed and trying to save money, but being friendly and just explaining that goes a long way. Also, communication is so simple and FREE and that would help a lot too. We ended up packing up and going home a day early.

Stayed in Cabin 6 for Five nights. This is our third time staying at a Yogi Bear camp ground and by far the worst one yet! First off Cabin was clearly not cleaned properly, and the beds leaned to one side, shower curtain was ripped to shreds, “screened” porch had holes and missing pieces, ants and bugs inside the cabin. Staff either didn’t show up or did not engage with customers when at the activities. When we went to the foam “party” Staff showed up but never started the foam eventually my family and and least three other families got tired of waiting after nearly 20 minutes. Movie night in the park was never actually in the park and was inside the activities center. The water park has potential to be great but staff refuses to take care of basic cleaning. Bathrooms were outright disgusting and looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The young staff members preferred to engage in TikTok dances versus being at their assigned stations I.E the snack bar, so when you wanted to buy something you had to try and find them or get their attention. Two of the water slides were broken. Only positive I have to say is the park is literally a five minute drive from Mark Twain lake access. Other than that I will not stay at this park again and would not recommend staying here to anyone. One staff member kept apologizing stating “we are short staffed” however I do not believe this is the reason for the very poorly managed park. It appears the staff just does not care.

Arrived 20 minutes early and the staff would not let me check in to my cabin. We reserved cabin 39 for 5 nights. We got to our cabin and it was filthy. Bugs and trash on the floor, the trash can was full, the coffee pot had old grinds in it and the bathroom had urine and pubic hair all over it. We also did not have any linens. The cabin is advertised as "screened in porch", well over half of the screens were tore down and the door was missing. This is part of the reason we rented this cabin! After checking the cabin for bed bugs (we saw that in several reviews) we went to the general store to let them know what we found. They told us that they were short on housekeeping and the linens were in the dryer.......If you knew they were in the dryer, why didn't you notify us?? After there apology we went back to the cabin empty handed. About 2 hours later I went back to the general store to ask for a pan to cook in which was not in the cabin and followed up on our linens. Finally an hour later around 7pm our sheets arrived but no towels. So I called for towels that finally showed up later that evening. We did swing by the pool which was so cloudy you couldn't see your feet in 3ft of water. The cabin was so hot that both tiny AC units could not keep up until the sun went down. The next day we noticed that the big burner on the stove did not work and the water could not keep consistent temp or pressure in the shower, hot to cold and back to hot. So, we could not give out 4 and 6 year olds showers due to the risk of them getting burned. We ventured off to the first activity which was coloring and Yogi appearance...well he did not show. The kids were disappointed. Later we wanted to do the tye-dye activity but guess what? They did not have ANY kids size shirts. Kids disappointed again. Isn't this a KIDS camp? The next morning we went to pledge with Yogi and he was 15 minutes late. It seemed the staff were not interested in the kids activities and ensuring they happened. The laser tag and splash park were the highlight of the trip. Later I went to rent a golf cart and did not have my ID so I just walked out of the store. At this point there were so many problems that I was done complaining. The manager of the front stopped me on my way out and got me a cart and gave me $20 off for 4 days of rental. WOW!!! After all the problems that was a slap in the face. So when the trip was over we were refunded a whopping $60 for all of the trouble. I would not recommend this camp to anyone who is counting on having a good time with kids. They will be disappointed with the activities and cabins. So, I would strongly advise staying somewhere else.

My family has been coming to this location for years. When the property was Mark Twain Landing things were much better. This property has great potential. The water park, the mini golf, and the proximity to the lake. The common area with the pavilion is a great place for families to gather and enjoy each other's company. This year when stayed in a cabin by the lake. The same cabin we have been in for years. To start the cabin was filthy. My family cleaned the cabin for 2 hours prior to unpacking. Every surface was sticky, or dirty. The floors were not swept, and the carpet was covered with dog hair and debris. The toilet had a ring of crap at the water level. The 2 air conditioners were covered in dust stalagmites we vacuumed out. The ceiling fan blades have thick layers of dust on them. Please bring your allergy medication. The window blinds were broken on 2 of the windows and the screens all had holes in them. There is a bit of a fly problem, that can be attributed to the gap at the base of the front door that allow free access to the cabin. My dog was quite entertained chasing flies all day. Also there is a large population of ants that seem to enjoy our company. The carbon monoxide detector was unplugged and did not have a battery. We plugged the detector back in and it began to beep 2 chirps every 30 seconds. Some quick research revealed that the detector was at the end of its life span and need replaced. There is a single garbage can in the kitchen, none in the bathroom.........this is great for a large family. Finally it was time to make the beds. The sheets were clean, but when we went to put the blankets on the bed a nauseating smell of cat urine was overwhelming. So we went to get some of these issues addressed. We spoke with the cashier who attempted to contact the manager with no success. She did get ahold of maintenance for us, and house keeping. We left our cell phone number and requested the manager contact us. We still have not heard from the manager 4 days into our stay. 6 hours after arrival maintenance arrived with clean blankets, and replaced the CO detector. At the end of the day I was ready for a hot shower and a good night sleep. Well to get the shower temperature dialed in you have to be a magician to get it between scalding hot and icy cold. So I am clean now and go lay down on my rock hard bed. The front porch on these cabins use to be very nice with a screen door. Now the porch is missing the screen door, and large sections of screen are now missing. The siding on the exterior of the cabins have random holes and wood rot that need to be repaired and stained. There is a pool in the middle of the property that is nice except the water smells funny. The public showers are not clean. The water park is a huge asset to this location. The water park is in pretty good shape except 2 of the water slides are shut down. The grass needs cut and trimmed. The pot holes in the parking lot and roads need to be filled. This property has been a great location for family vacation in the past. I am afraid that if drastic changes in management and maintenance are not immediately addressed Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park will become extinct. I truly hope you will invest the time and resources necessary to address these issues.

We went for a little mini vacation and had great time. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond when they found out we were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We have several children with special needs and not one time were we made to feel unwelcome or unaccepted. We went to celebrate our daughter's birthday but because of many food allergies we did not get a birthday package. However when the staff found out we were there celebrating our daughter's birthday they went out of their way to make it a special time. During activity time the staff had Boo Boo and Cindy Bear come out and wish her a Happy Birthday, they gave her a Cindy Bear stuffed toy, a bubble wand, sticker book, and several other little things. We were so surprised and our daughter was so thrilled. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to her and some of the other kids visiting the park even gave her a little coloring page that she wrote Happy Birthday on. We could not have picked a better place to celebrate her birthday! We would happily go back!

As an RV park, this place would be great. There’s so many activities, the general store was clean, food they served was delicious, and most of the staff were incredibly friendly. What I can’t get past, and what solidified my decision to never return to this location (have had a lot of great experiences at the eureka location) was how absolutely disgusting the cabins were. We checked in right at four and walked in to our cabin around 4:15 to find it FILTHY. I’m not sure this place has had a proper cleaning since about 2001 and even that is a generous guess. Yes it is outdated, but that’s not the problem here. There were nails sticking out of the trellis that surrounds the outside exterior of the house, the seat on the picnic bench was completely falling apart; also with nails sticking out, there was pee along the base of the toilet, the trash can was completely full, the sink still had food stuck in the drain, bugs everywhere, trash from the previous renters up in the lounge, the mattress was flatter that flat and dipped in the middle. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was the original before Jellystone ever took over. The light in the fridge didnt work, and there were no pots and pans. I was told that this specific cabin doesn’t come stocked with those. Thankfully my sister rented the same type of cabin next door and she had pots and a small pan but not a working oven/stove; so she brought them over to us. When all of this was brought to the attention of the front, they had someone down there immediately to clean up, then the next morning a couple staff came to personally apologize and provide us with some merchandise and even told us they would refund an amount for the stay. Incredibly kind and appreciated, but still doesn’t make up for the fact that we just felt so disgusting and gross the whole stay, eventually causing us to just check out a day early. On our last day there my husband woke up with a very nasty rash and welts everywhere, only for us to realize that it’s bed bug bites! This stay cost us around $800 and let me tell you, I wouldn’t stay here again even if it was offered free. I have no desire to go within 20 feet of these cabins again. I understand the struggle if they are short staffed; I do. But if this is the case, find some way to work around it. If they would’ve called us the day of and explained they would need more time before the room was clean and ready, that would’ve been completely appreciated and understood. There is just so much work that needs to be done with this place. As far as I’m concerned these cabins are a health hazard and they shouldn’t be allowed to rent these until major improvements are made.

Response from Great Escapes RV Resorts, Owner at Yogi Bear's Mark Twain Lake Jellystone Park
Responded Jun 29, 2022
Update 06.29.22 - Hello again alicianicolew - The county health inspector, as well as a certified pest inspector, could not find any evidence of bed bugs in our cabin. We hope your husband feels better soon. Take Care. Hello alicianicolew - Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We have shared this feedback with our housekeeping team. They are somewhat new to their positions and working hard to improve their cleaning efficiency and making sure their checklists are complete. We appreciate you giving our team the opportunity to come out and clean the unit to our standards as well as taking the time to speak with our General Managers, so they could make up for your inconvenience. We have had two staff members and both general managers check for the bed bugs that you reference and we have not been able to find any evidence of such. A 3rd party inspector has also come out to double-check our findings and could not find any trace of bed bugs. Also, all of our cabins are regularly treated for all pests (including bed bugs) on a regular schedule. Thank you again for your time and your feedback.

My 3 kids and I were very lucky to have choosen Jellystone Park in Monroe City, Missouri as our destination. The General Manager and her husband Percy were absolutely amazing to work with. Starting at check in they did wonderful to make sure we were happy with our cabin and had everything we needed to make our time the best possible. Percy even drove through at the end of our first night to make sure we were doing ok and didn't need anything. The kids were able to visit with Yogi Bear his girlfriend Cindy Bear and his best friend Boo Boo. The activities that the park provided from the time we woke up til we went to bed kept us very busy and entertained. The resort also has an on property Waterpark, The water Zone that is also included in your stay. Our time there kept the kids busy going down all the water slides, enjoying time on the lazy river, and splish splashing in the wave pool. I would recommend this location to anyone wanting to have non stop fun in a very family friendly environment. They accommodate tent camping, RVs, or multiple Cabin options. When planning your next trip don't forget to contact The GM Jamie or her staff to make sure your stay was as amazing as ours. I look forward to bringing my family again, as well as extended family to enjoy time with Yogi Bear and all his friends. Thanks Jellystone for accommodating our needs as perfectly as you did.

We just got back from a great vacation here! It was so much fun! They had activities all day that kept my 4 year old busy. We actually didn't have enough time to go to all of the activities that we wanted and the water park, etc. Like everywhere else they did seem short staffed but the staff did great! We had a minor issue in the cabin (cable didn't work but was actually being worked on by an outside company) but we wouldn't have had time to watch tv anyways and Percy was so helpful and made it right with us. The food at the cafe was so good! Chase and Emma at the activity center did so well with my daughter as well! We didn't get to see Yogi but we did get to see Boo Boo and Cindy Bear! We can't wait to stay again!
