This hotel is in need of a major renovation. Outdated furniture and television. Our room had dingy bed sheets. There was a musty mildew smell as soon as you walked into the room. I was very disappointed with this Marriott property. Staff was very attentive. Ivan was excellent in the restaurant. I will not be back!

I cashed in a week's worth of Titanium Bonvoy points earlier in the spring for a week while I was waiting for my new place to move got readied. Somehow, the hotel not only took the Bonvoy points from my account, but also snagged one of my free hotel night awards as well, even tho I only stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. I called Marriott Bonvoy CS and they reply to me saying the Sheraton Westport said I redeemed a free hotel night award PLUS used a 5 night points stay. Mind you, I only stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. Call it fuzzy math or just play theft of a reward from my Bonvoy account. Either way, I wouldn't stay here if your Bonvoy account means anything to you or you have point/awards sitting in it.

This is an old property in need of major renovation —- but this site has the best staff I’ve encountered in all my business travels. They were so helpful and warm that I feel bad leaving a 3 star review. I’m not sure I’d stay here again but I’d do so if they remodeled.

Lobby is clean and friendly staff but like the entire Westport Plaza the best days are well behind this place. Lobby Bar decor is a hedge lodge of hotel looking furniture claimed from a warehouse for used hotel furniture. It is a convenient location and it may be the best option in the area. Maybe it’s emblematic of the area of St. Louis.

The worst Marriott experience! I frequent for work. If my conference and customers weren’t here, I would switch hotels. It’s years overdue for a facelift, reminds me of The Shining. I feel bad for the housekeeping staff, as there is hardly a way to keep the archaic furniture and bathrooms clean. Bring some shoes to wear in the room, or wear the slippers in the closet, you won’t want to put your feet on the floor. The tv barely works, bathroom is bad, fitted sheet doesn’t stay on the bed, you can choose between hot or cold (no in between) on temp, wind whips through the windows, outlets don’t work (when you can find one) air freshener throughout the hotel is so overwhelming it’s nauseating, there’s a gap between the floor and the door that a toddler could fit through. No worries though…for a real adventure, stay on the 12th floor with the Turkey Vultures. Sure to scare the crap out of you when you look out the sliding door! ***pics attached.

This property is a bit bruised and battered, but a good value for the money. Club lounge was closed on weekends . Elite Bonvoy benefit included breakfast which was just fair. The breakfast area has a glass art installation and the dust is ridiculously thick around it. Hope it doesn’t speak to how the hotel keeps the kitchen. Restaurant manager was pretty rude, despite my pointing out there wasn’t any signage stating to seat yourself, or wait to be seated. I am amazed at the cheek of some people that work with the public. They go blind to their surroundings and forget they are hosts to guests and guests are usually unfamiliar with their surroundings.

I stayed here for about half the month of February. There is no question it is the oldest Sheraton I have ever stayed. I don't know when it was built, but it definitely has been around for a minimum of 40-50 years. That being said, there is nothing wrong with an older hotel just as long as it has been cared for and in this case needing to be brought into the current century.

Repeat stay. Service is always excellent, as is the food quality. Hotel is in a great location, at Westport Plaza, with many great restaurants within easy walking distance. While the hotel needs an overall update, I have found the rooms to always be clean and comfortable, with nothing in disrepair. Great arrangement for guests to use a large Fitness Center, within a short, 2-minute, enclosed, walk. The only negative I would mention is about the food in the Member's Lounge. While everything tasted good, the evening hors d'oeuvres only offered once choice, aside from the cheese selections. Also, at breakfast, the only breads available were cupcakes and sweet pastries. No bread/bagels/english muffins for toasting. I do want to mention Nicole, who always went above and beyond to provide excellent service, in the lounge. Also, Donna (front desk management) who always provides friendly, professional and proactive service, and takes time to talk with customers to seek feedback. We had a nice discussion about all of the aforementioned things and she told me about future improvements coming to this property. I will definitely be back

Maintenance projects starting at 11pm? At 11pm it sounded like a construction site outside my window between the noise of trucks and people talking. When I called the front desk repeatedly, they didn’t know until they investigated. The hotel scheduled the vents or exhaust to be cleaned in the kitchen. Poor management if a project like this isn’t shared with the front desk. Why check guests into these rooms?

Stayed for only one night. The front desk lady was extremely nice - a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was better than most hotels I've stayed at this year (16 so far). The room was comfortable and mostly clean. I saw nothing to complain about until I got in the shower. Then I noticed a 12" wad of red hair on the shower wall. Certainly not mine, since I'm all grey. It just makes you wonder how much effort was actually put into cleaning the room. Next time I'll need to do a closer inspection before I unpack!
