No shade at any of the RV sites. Electric didn't work at our site. Maintenance man was extremely rude. Day of float Joe was extremely rude. Most unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. At the end of the float we were transported in a bus with tags that expired 7 months ago.

I stay in one of the 1 bedroom cabins on site. It was very well maintained and clean. Excellent amenities with full kitchen and bathroom with a tub shower. The only issue I had was the mattress on the bed but hey your not in a 4star hotel. Only other issue was that it was away from the other rv and camping area where the rest of my group stayed since most of them own RVs. Also wish they had a shorter float ride . 8 miles is a bit much especially if you have kids. Other than that we all had a blast! Clean facilities we are planning to go back in a month.

Arrived on a Thursday nite, everything okay. Just happened to book on the hottest day of year, no big deal. Enjoyed sitting by the river watching the floaters go by. Went back to campsite to have power go out in campground, no fault of campground. Biggest downfalls were no shaded site, sites were not marked very well, and lack of staff being seen past the check-in. We left Saturday nite after power had been off for 2 plus hours, just too hot to stay with family and pets getting too overheated. Just wished staff would have came around to check on guests. Nice park, don’t know if would return, biggest reason of lack of shaded sites.

Yeah I can’t recommend this place the grass Nazis are quite prevalent and not very forgiving to new people. I don’t think I will ever be back at this float/camp site. I just wanted to park in the shade this lady came out and demand All this information even though I was willing to move should have put my vehicle in park and took my shower.

Hidden Valley Outfitters is a great location for camping! Level & large sites for RVs, a beautiful grass area for tent camping, very well maintained grounds, a wonderful friendly staff and a well stocked store. Close to Bennett Springs State Park. The Niangua River runs right along the boundary of the campground and is a great location for fishing. Highly recommend!!

Been coming here for years full hook up camping. Started with our campsite having a lake in the driveway. You could not get out of your vehicle without being in a mud hole. It was a fight with Billy Bob the host to get some gravel. Billy Bob states it cost too much for gravel. It's obvious by looking at several sites and the road that they don't maintain what they have but they keep building more sites. They then hounded us and several others about parking at the river. We always have come with a large group and used to really enjoy it but no more. We will spend our money elsewhere.

We are sorry for your experience during your stay. After 3 days of rain it took the drainage systems time to catch up and for everything to dry out. We hope to see you again and make your next visit a better one.

I picked this place blindly, as we were traveling to the river to fish at Bennett Springs but they were booked. However, I was not disappointed. It’s just right across the highway and a couple minutes drive thru Bennett Springs State Park to the park store for tags and parking. Entire campground was clean, shower houses were cleaner than any other park (mostly state parks) I’ve stayed in, and the camp hosts and store attendants were friendly and informative. Store prices were cheaper for firewood than any other locations we saw in the area. Next time we plan on taking our kayaks and staying longer.!

We stayed here over Easter weekend in April and got lucky at the last minute to be able to find one spot left due to a cancellation. The RV overnight campground was full! This campground was beautiful and is relatively new. Each site in the RV overnight campground is full hookup (water, sewer, 50 amp); and is on a nice, big, flat concrete pad with a fire pit and grill. The general store at check-in has all the amenities you need including ice and firewood for purchase. They even cook pizzas there too. Very friendly at check-in and accommodating. The campground runs next to the Niangua River and is literally across the road from Bennett Springs State Park. Very convenient for canoeing, kayaking, fishing. There is a TON of open grassy area for kids to roam, bike, play, explore. Kids playground area, frisbee golf course and a wedding chapel as well! Beautiful waterfalls, creek throughout. We loved this campground for the open space, beauty and quiet. Everyone was friendly and we met a lot of people who come here quite often during the year to get away on the weekends. That says a lot about how nice this place is when people return a lot. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because since it is relatively new the trees are not matured and tall enough yet to provide shade to the campground so I can imagine it would be VERY hot in the summer on those concrete pads. We will definitely return next time we are wanting a getaway for the weekend in southern Missouri! It’s a popular place so reserve ahead!
