Extremely friendly & helpful staff. My son and I stopped here on a trip from Austin, TX to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. We were desperate for a place to sleep at about 2am in the rain. We pulled into the only open handicap spot needing a first floor room, hopefully handicap accessible for my son in a wheelchair. We absolutely hit the lottery with this Econo Lodge! The only room they had available was handicap accessible & it was literally 3 steps from my front bumper. The lady at the check in desk was hesitant to rent us the room because she prefers to keep those room available for handicap guests. I swear I had tears and a smile when I thanked her being so thoughtful & conscientious and that my son, in fact, was in a wheelchair. I was so impressed with her cautious heart to save a special room for someone with specialized needs. Clean room, newly updated, and very comfy bed!…
Stopped on way home from Texas, second time we stayed since change of ownership. Lots of problems with WiFi again - talked to management and basically got some run around about WiFi is good just keep trying different routers to see which one works best for room - crazy! I had to stand in parking lot by management office to get good enough WiFi to place pizza order on Hut app. Checked out.....price for room was different than price quoted over phone, answers from staff was memorized replies from management manual. We will be looking for a new location to stay in future.
The receptionist, Tiffany, treated us like old friends. Her recommendation for a meal was nearby and excellent! Stables Grill had the best chicken fried steak and pork tenderloin meals in the sports bar section! The Econolodge room was clean with an ADA handicap room right next to the office. Large screen TV on the wall with fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. Laminated wood floor was a welcome clean difference rather than a carpet.
Stopped on way home from Texas, change of ownership since we stayed. Carpet was removed and a wood type floor product installed-nice improvement. New chair & ottoman. We had problems with wifi, never did get a good connection. We didn’t have this issue previously. Clean comfortable beds.
Hotel itself is great, however the worker on the morning of August 9, 2018 hovers so much making you feel uncomfortable to be in the eating area, with is crazy seeing how the door to the reception desk is RIGHT BESIDE the eating area. He handles the food with bare hands, instead of having the waffle mix available, he takes cups back to a room and mixes it up individually and brings it back. I felt very uncomfortable in the eating and refused to eat anything there.
