The Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center is celebrated for its cozy rooms and the unique 'Link' walkway, which offers convenience to its guests, though some have noted the absence of promised items. Guest opinions on service quality vary, with some encountering warm and efficient staff, while others face slower responses. The hotel's blend of brutalist architecture and modern amenities, set in a meticulously clean environment, has been well-received. Its downtown location is generally appreciated, despite the occasional long walk. However, the value proposition has come under scrutiny, with guests pointing out the need for updates and the high cost of services. Room experiences differ, with accolades for cleanliness and tranquility contrasted by criticism regarding maintenance and amenities. Overall, the hotel maintains commendable standards of cleanliness.

We were here with a large conference. My very favorite thing was the Lync (we referred to as the gerbil tube) that linked you to almost everything - other conference hotels, Crown Center shopping/eating, Union Station, aquarium, legoland, Hallmark Visitors Center, etc. I never had to get in the street unless I wanted to. But when we did, the free trolley was fantastic to get around on.

We were given a room on the 40th floor. What an amazing view!
Room was very clean and spacious. Had a mini fridge and coffee maker. I was pleased by the amount of outlets and usb ports. The bed and linens were comfortable but I was not a fan of the lumpy pillows. (Out of all fairness I am sure they would have remedied that if I had called the front desk). The bathroom was clean and had great lighting. I loved the products they provided (Gilchrist and Soames bath gel, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap). The room was quiet and you didn’t hear hall noise and such like other hotels.

The bar/restaurant in the hotel had delicious appetizers. (I have never seen wings so large) The elevators were hit and miss - kinda quirky. This hotel is older but you can tell that they have worked hard to keep it beautiful, clean, and updated. The staff (housekeeping, bar, bell staff, maintenance, & front desk) was always so pleasant!! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we return to the area.

There was not a clock in the the room. How are you to know what time it is in the middle of the night. It took me two days to find the microwave. and of course it was not convenient to take your food down the hall. Thought the prices at the bar were uncalled for. $16.50 for a glass of wine was outrages. the last time I was there parking was free if you were staying there not this time again outrages since the prices of the room are not inexpensive to begin with.
The room was nice and I did not expect the beds to be changed during our stay but I did expect the bed to be made each day. the only daily maid service we received was fresh towels

I recently stayed here for a work-related trip, attracted by the appealing lobby and promising location. Unfortunately, the rooms did not live up to the first impression. My initial problem began with a malfunctioning heater. Despite promptly contacting the front desk, my room remained cold for over two hours without any resolution. The explanation was that the maintenance team was overwhelmed, and though I canceled the request to avoid further disturbance, the staff’s indifference was palpable.

The following morning revealed more unsettling issues: a clogged sink, a moldy bathtub, and a peeling ceiling in the shower. For a hotel in such an excellent location, these shortcomings are inexcusable. My advice to fellow travelers seeking comfort and reliability is to consider staying at the Westin instead. I wanted to love this place, but I won’t be returning.

I’m sorry but we can’t recomend this hotel. I normally don’t write bad reviews but I feel like I have to in this case because I regret spending money on this hotel and it’s service or lack there of.

After 8 hour flight we came late and wanted to check in. They didn’t find our booking. After the lady talked to her manager and 20 minutes later she found it. Then they charged us, but told us our card was declined. It was our comapy card it should not have been declined. But the lady in the lobby was sure of it and wanted us to try again. We looked at our bank statement and what do you know, the payment went through the first time. But she had to talk to her manager again, it worked out in the end but these were issues we were not in the mood for after a long flight.
The lady felt bad though because this procces had taken at least 40 minutes so she gave us a cupon for free breakfast the morning after to apoligize. It was nice of her.

When we came to our room there was no Wifi and this loud noise was coming from the hallway. Like the fire alarm! So we went to the hallway but there was nobody there. Again my husband went to the lobby (because nobody answered the phone) and told the lady who had no idea what was going on. She made a phone call and told us they were gonna take care of it. We didn’t feel safe so we went up the fire escape to all the floors to find out where this noise was coming from. After about 30 min we found out the noise was coming from the elevator that was stuck on the 34th floor. They took care of it in the end.

We stayed for 3 nights. Nobody came to clean our room, changes towels or take the trash out. When we called the lobby nobody answeres. This hotel is very outdated unfortunatly. Our room was freezing cold no matter what we did.

On our last night we got a phone call from the hotel telling us to come down to the lobby to give them our credit card information - again they told us they didn’t have it on file. SO my husband (my better half) went out of bed and went down to talk to them (we were on the 27th floor) but when he came the lady said: My bad we had the information all along. And I’m sorry to say but she was kinda rude considering she draged him out of bed late in the evening for nothing.

We went to 2 other hotels in Kansas on our trip and there was no problem.

So I’m sorry but I would recomend you to look at other options.

My family and I stayed at the Sheraton Crown Center in KCMO overnight August 14-August 15, 2021. Tanya checked us in to room 3918 that has a great view to the north of the downtown.

The room was clean and comfortable. The mattresses were comfy and there was a desk and two chairs. The flat screen television had a decent selection of channels.

This hotel recently reopened after being closed down due to COVID 19. Because of this there is only one restaurant on the property, opening at 5PM that serves bar style food. The rooftop restaurant is closed. There is covered parking in an attached garage with a $22 daily fee.

The room price was about $230 but with taxes and parking it totaled about $330.

We felt safe during our visit including walking to and from our car. This hotel is connected via a sky walk to Crown Center shops and Union Station, and it is about 15 minutes drive to the Plaza and also to the Royals / Chiefs stadiums. We will likely stay here again if we are in the area.

We stayed at the Sheraton while in town for a concert and had a good overall stay. The hotel is well decorated and the lobby area is relaxing. Check in was easy and we did valet parking which went well during our stay. Bell service was excellent and we ordered room service and it was brought quickly and everything was hot and well presented. There is a covered walkway to the Crown Center so it is easy to get around the area. The room was nice and had a good view. The problems we encountered were minor. One, the store in the lobby was not open when the hours in the room said it was , We went down at 6:00 on Friday night and it was closed. The book in the room said it was open until 10:00. the walls are thin and we could here everything going on in the room next to us. We have stayed at several of the hotels in this area and this was the best one. I dont think you'll find a 5 hotel in the area so this is the next best thing.

We stayed four nights in this Sheraton, which was the main hotel for our journalism convention. The check-in was so smooth and easy and we went to a beautiful room in the club level with superior views. I can’t begin to describe how comfortable those beds are. I would like to take them home with me. The room was kept sparkling clean. We ate at the one restaurant twice for breakfast and once for lunch and the service was exceptional. We did not realize that we could have a viewing party for two of the NCAA games on the televisions in the lobby. Highly recommend staying here, I know if we come back to Kansas City this will be our number one choice of hotel.

I was at the Sheraton for a convention. My overall experience was very positive. Meeting rooms were appropriate. The convention was able to set up a lounge as an additional place for receptions and drink purchases. The restaurant was good for all meals, and service was especially good there. They have a small place in the lobby in the morning where you can purchase coffee and food for a continental breakfast. I did valet parking, and it worked well. The location is great, since you can easily visit the Crown Center restaurants and shops, as well as Union Station. It seems the hotel has done recent renovations. My room was immaculate and comfortable. Everything about it was fine. Crown Center itself is a great location in the city. I've stayed a lot of places in Kansas City, and found this hotel to be among the best.

Everything from this stay in a regular king bed room went really well compared to the stay in a Studio suite in the previous year. Everything was fine except for the protruding joint compound ball hanging down from the bathroom ceiling, the pool needs a physical material update as some of the ugly outdated blue tiles were missing, and the boring transition between the elevator and the walkway to the pool needs to be redecorated and renovated. The service and staff was wonderful from my experience. Even if it was in a regular king bed room, it was refreshing to have many pieces of furniture, viewpoints where I could see the tv from compared to the Studio suite the year before. I don’t know if the tv viewing situation has changed this year in the Studio suite, but even though it was a very nice room with a nice view from floor to ceiling windows, the tv was not able to be seen by the parlor furniture. It was only fixed to be seen from the bed. That was a waste of furniture use in my opinion.

I was here for a conference. This is good conference hotel. Nice conference rooms, quick access back to your room if you want. Nice facilities.

Room was fine, but nothing great. Bed was ok. Mini Fridge in my room was broken. Internet was insanely expensive (but free with tier rewards levels), and you had to restart it every day. View from the Window was amazing. Pool looked nice, but a bit hard to get to.

Club lounge on the room looked AMAZING. it was closed for remodel when I was there. That is the picture they show in all the ads. The hotel had a replacement club lounge in the restaurant, which was fine, but nothing like that club level.

Connected with sky bridge to Crown Center ... mall with restaurants, museum, aquarium, other stuff. Also very close to Jack Stacks, and Burnt Ends, both good options for KC BBQ.

About 20-25 from the airport.

Yes, it's called the Skyway Memorial. It's on 22nd Street and Gillham Road. Was designed to honor and remember those who died in the collapse of the Hyatt skywalks in 1981.
