About
Description
"A National Historic Landmark" The house, built in 1888 in the Queen Ann style, in the most fashionable neighborhood in Kansas City, was the home of Judge Stephen & Emeline Twiss. The Inn at 425 has three More lovely guest rooms with private baths: "Emeline's Room" has a Queen Bed, and a sophisticated elegance. It is beautifully furnished with a magnificent Victorian bedroom suite and has an adjoining bath. "The Rose Room" is like a trip to the English countryside with a Queen canopy bed, lace curtains and a private screened-in sun porch overlooking the garden and fishpond. You can hear the fountain from your private oasis! The Rose Room features the home's original 1888 bathroom with claw foot tub and marble sink. "The Room with the View" has a Queen Bed. The guest room overlooks Gladstone Blvd, and in the wintertime, the Kansas City skyline. It is beautifully furnished in an eclectic mix of antiques and boutique furniture, with a private adjoining bath. A full breakfast is served in the dining room (or in the garden as requested) every morning. There are two Common Rooms for you to enjoy: the front parlor, where you can gather with friends, and the Conservatory. Enjoy the award winning garden (2009 recipient of the Kansas City Beautification Award) and was featured in Midwest Living Magazine, Kansas City Homes Beautiful, and Kansas City Star magazine. Carl and Stephan, your gracious hosts, look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful, historic home. Less
