We'd originally planned a two-day stay but changed our minds given the surge of COVID in Missouri, and they were good enough to change our reservations for us. That said, I contacted them the DAY after I got an email reminding us of our upcoming stay and offering the suggestion of changing the reservation if necessary, but by then it was nominally too late. Really? One day after getting an email while on vacation? But, they did allow us a change it was just a bit of odd timing. The main reason I even looked in to The Fontaine was because they have charging for an EV on site. Wait, scratch that. They have charging for a *Tesla* on site. If you don't have a Tesla or a converter, you need to find charging elsewhere. That they even have charging is not listed on their website and when I called to confirm it, I was not told (nor did I think to ask) that it was for Tesla only. The room is spacious and the bathroom is really well set up. The bed was comfortable, with good sheets and plenty of pillows. However, the AC had been set to 61 degrees when we came into the room! It took some time for the room to move off of "frigid." There was only half a roll of TP in the bathroom, no backup. No tissues. They provided in the shower what I imagine was to one bottle each of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash: what we got was shampoo and two bottles of body wash. With an upper end hotel, these sorts of lapses are odd. I think that, had we had more time and talked with the front desk, the issues with the amenities and the temperature in the room would have been rectified, but we didn't have that time. And so my impression of the hotel was of a lost opportunity.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Fontaine Hotel. The rooms are very spacious and quiet. Furniture is modern and the bathroom had a large walk in shower. Staff is super professional and made every effort to accommodate our needs. We’d like to call out Tyrah C for her exceptional services. Super nice and very accommodating. We highly recommend this romantic, modern and well situated hotel.

We spent 4 days last week at this hotel. There were excellent reviews on TripAdvisor for this place. We did not find it that way ourselves. We were very excited when we arrived. First we discovered the refrigerator in our room wasn’t working. We called the front desk and immediately a wonderful maintenance man came in and had to crawl around and pull the refrigerator out and plug it in. There were no water glasses in the bathroom. We had been driving for nine hours to get there so we went upstairs to try out their rooftop bar. It looked lovely. I ordered a straight up martini. It came in a plastic on the rocks cup. My husband ordered a beer and it was served to him just in the can. When we returned to our room later that evening we went to take a shower. There was no soap in the liquid dispenser in the shower and when I went to dry off the whole border was ripped off of one side of my towel and the fabric was shredded. The next day it took two attempts during the day to get fresh towels, pods for the in room Keurig, but the soap dispenser was never refilled. They have a pandemic policy of making up the room only after you have been in it for three days. But late on the fourth day when we returned to our room absolutely nothing had been tended to or refreshed. We were there with another couple who had most of the same experiences we did so I don’t think ours was an isolated incident. Pluses were-very pleasant and helpful employees, our bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large and lovely. My friend and I talked to the manager, Austin, and he seem to be interested in our concerns. He said if we came back in another month things would be a lot different. That might be but it sure didn’t help us. On the Fontaine website, they billed the hotel as a luxury hotel. We certainly didn’t find this to be the case.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are glad that our staff was helpful and pleasant and that you were able to comfortably rest. Our team regrets, however, that several of the guest services did not meet all of your expectations. Guests are always encouraged to notify us of any issues they may experience with our accommodations and we are glad that Austin was sensitive to your concerns. Your feedback will be used to assist us as we continuously work to improve accommodations for our guests. Given the opportunity, we would like to provide you with a stay that meets all of your expectations.

We had our son’s rehearsal dinner at the hotel at the 7th floor restaurant. They gave us the entire floor including the pool area - which was so nice that we had trouble getting the guests into the restaurant for the dinner. And the dinner - WOW!!! We had lamb and pheasant as the main dish on the same plate with a starter of a salad accompanied by a pear tart. The side dishes were exquisite! The chef outdid himself!!! We had so many compliments on the food! Service was great and the staff was very accommodating. The F&B manager as well as his staff (she even greeted our guests in the lobby to direct them to the restaurant) were at the event to help with the evening. The whole evening felt like a cozy dinner party and handled our 65 guests with ease. The hotel was very gracious and understanding when there were questions regarding the final bill and everyone left at the end of the evening with a big smile on their face. Would highly recommend this venue as a favored spot for your next event.

Positive - Large rooms. Rooftop bar/restaurant excellent. Good, friendly service. They make a superb old fashioned. Reception staff courteous and helpful. Negative - Dark, with very little lighting, which may appeal to younger people, but not to us geezers. Very hard to read because of inadequate light. Trouble with the toilet flushing. Toilet paper holder came off wall while paper unrolled.
