Certificate of Excellence
Housed in the beautifully renovated 1930s-era Brookfield Building which held ticket offices for various train stations, the Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown offers a reminder of the rail lines that put this city on the map. As a nod to this 12-story tower's past, our 118 guest rooms are styled with travel-themed touches — including postcard and postmark designs in rooms — and the lobby features a train mural. You can start the day with a cup of locally-brewed Parisi coffee before heading out to must-see spots like Union Station, the Arvest Bank Theater, legendary jazz clubs and world-class restaurants just steps from the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and find it is very clean, great staff and great location of everything downtown. You can walk just about everywhere and the free trolley is right down the street. This is a very comfortable hotel with a bar/restaurant in the lower level.

We were welcomed very friendly by the reception staff. Rooms are nicely decorated and spacious but TOO DARK!! Bed is comfortable and the bathroom is as spacious as the room. Breakfast was served with special attention and very friendly staff. Parking is an extra $25, so in all the hotel is a good experience though a bit pricey for what it is. Nice thing is the complementary water you can get as many as you want.

We were in town for Planet Comicon. The front desk was friendly, but not as personable as some of the other places I've stayed in the area. The room was large and well laid out. It had plenty of space to get into costumes and store our gear. The room was very dark despite large windows. I had to use my phone flashlight to help put makeup on because there was no light in any room bright enough near a mirror. (This is a common issue with every hotel, and I have ordered a lighted mirror but sadly it came in broken just before this.) The second issue was that they came in to clean, started and then stopped. We were told it was because we had items on the bed. Which is okay. We didn't need the bed made up or changed. But they also left garbage in the room and took all the soap and cups. We put the bags in the hall trash and went down to the front desk for the other items. All in all it was a nice place to stay for a few nights. And much cheaper than everything else considering there was a sport thing in town and our normal haunts were full. I would consider returning next year if the price is right.

Front desk staff very pleasant. Had problem with deadbolt on room door so I was immediately given a new room and comped breakfast for my entire stay. This was a nice touch and greatly appreciated. Room was clean and very quiet. Fitness room is small with few machines, but I had no problem getting access when I went to workout. Recommend.

The service and staff are wonderful. Corner room was roomy and clean. Eric at the desk was so friendly and Eric gave suggestions for entertainment. Eric provided extra coffee pods for us for the next morning and Eric also made sure we would be ok with creamer. Eric made us feel right at home-every hotel needs a employee like Eric! Thank you Eric! We loved Hotel Indigo!
